Little Big Planet: Is this the game of the year?

I've got all these fecking games unfinished someone decide for me.

Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway.
Deadspace.
Fallout 3.
Halo 3.
Project Gotham 4.
Call of Duty 4.
Call of Duty: World at War.
Guitar Hero III.
Fable 2.
Colin McRae Dirt.
Little Big Planet.
Dragonball Z.
Saints Row 2.
Far Cry 2.

All started, none finished. It's annoying me. Which should I fecking start playing again?

Well out of that list I've only completed Halo 3, Fable 2 and COD4 and of those I would say Fable 2 as you get a choice of 3 different endings that effect the game if you chose to carry on playing it after you have completed it. The ending for COD4 left me with more questions than answers to be honest

LBP is pure genius as a game. The controls at first came across as clunky but with time you grow into them and they are quite accurate to the touch. The graphics are rediculously good some of the fabrics looks so life like its almost sickening.

Then the playability of the game itself is astonishing so many level with so much deatil and shit to do, whether it being single player or co-op this game has it all in one nice neat package. Hopefully we will see alot of downloadable content for it over the coming months.

PS - And being able to create your own levels is the dogs bollox some of the stuff you can make if you put your mind to it truly makes this a special game.

If you have a ps3 you have to buy this game

Is there anyway of saving different game files under the same playstation account? I share my ps3 with my brother, and for him to start his own game is there a way to do so without having to create a new ps account on the ps3?

Resistance 2 has beaten Little Big Planet for me.

It's a brilliant game. Smashing through campaign at the moment.

Just finished this. Good fun. First impression was far too harsh.

Anyone found any levels online that are as good as the levels in the actual game?

Only played a couple and they were a bit shit.

Search an author called Geosautus. Very good levels.

Missed the ongoing discussion in this thread but yes it seemed as if we got Resistance 2 quite early down here. Not sure why but eh, I'm not complaining. It has a fantastic online co-op mode. Although me and the lads from work encountered an annoying bug playing tonight in which everyone would d/c at the same time, constantly, without any warning such as bad lag, etc.

Just finished it, including aceing and collecting all prize bubbles for the first 5 worlds. Want to collect and ace every level to get the trophies - i have turned into a trophy whore.

I thought the ending was a bit poor. The final level was a bit easy.

If you want to heart me, my id is "gaffs". I will heart you back.

Anyone find the online play a bit crap? I can never seem to play a story level with 4 players.

It's a bit odd alright. Silly the way you die, just from being left off the screen. The fact that most people seem to leg it along, as fast as possible, makes tricky levels almost impossible.

And I can't shake the nagging suspicion I'm gaming with a bunch of 10 year-olds :nervous:

Some of the home-made levels are amazing though. I just wish the interface was more sensible. Why can't they just have a top 10 highest rated levels or something? It's a pain in the arse trying to separate the what from the chaff.

Yeah, the limit in the screen size is a problem. Anyone with a brain knows to play co-operatively you need to stay together, still ppl leg it off ahead.

Some of the later levels have 3/4 player challenges, so if you want all the stickers, you have to do them.

What is annoying is selecting “play online” in a story level, then just entering it on your own and having to wait for ages for other people to join. There should be some king of lobby system.

I can't shake the nagging suspicion that the caf is full of 10 year-olds!!!

What’s your PSN ID Pogue?

I'm "FingerBob"

Send us a "heart" (whatever the feck that means ;)) next time you're online.

FingerBob - WTF?

Is it because your a gynecologist?

Why dont you change your Caf user name to FingerBob - or even DrFingerBob.

Nah, I'm a shrink. Never seen the appeal of gynaecology. Other than as a hobby, obviously.

Fingerbobs was a childhood TV favourite, where a weird, baldy bloke wore a paper cone on his finger and pretended it was a mouse. Ah, them were the days...

This is currently £19.99 at shopto.net

Anybody who plans on buying it, i suggest doing it now while it's cheap. It'll probably go back up to £25 at least soon enough.

Resistance 2 is also the same price, but they aren't taking orders currently.

Game of the year for me, but just barely due to two issues:

* Trigger-happy sensoring of player created levels ("did that new level push yours off the charts? Don't worry, just hit the complain button")
* Terrible search functionality when it comes to player created content

I dont get it , im so hesitant in buying this game (LBP) as it looks like a kids game..

Mind, i havent tried it, all ive seen is video previews etc..

How is it THAT good? Whats so special?

I asked my dad to buy this for me for my Christmas present. He said it was sold out at the HMV on Market Street in Manchester, had to go to GAME to get it.

It looks great. I wished they did the same with the follow ups to Super Metroid ie 2D with a 3d look. If that makes any sense.

I agree with this. Should have been done for the sonic games also, and many more similar games.

I believe the Super Mario Bros. game for the DS was done this way and worked well.
