Round.Eriksen plays deep now and his competition is Fred, McT and Garner before any more signings are made. Would say he instantly becomes our best midfielder if he joins now. And who knows which shape Shaw is in.

Can't think of the last player we signed in recent times that has had anything close to this kind of edge/aggressiveness. Probably Herrera. We've been missing it
Our build up will be completely transformed. Malacia and Shaw are both very good with build up, Dalot isn't bad either on the other flank. Martinez and Maguire/Varane and we'll have a very comfortable on the ball back 4, that can bring it to Frenkie and Eriksen in the midfield 3. Sancho in the front 3 as well. It'll have players who are capable of being playmakers all around the pitch. Just needs the right balance defensively and the goalscorer, but i think with Ten Hag's coaching and these few additions that we'll see a massive improvement. A bunch of players who are press resistant for a change, and comfortable at bringing the ball out from the back and through the lines. And most importantly, actually receiving the ball under pressure, something I always felt we avoided doing. If he's good at player out from the back, him and Erikson (maybe FDJ if he comes) should improve our passing in the buildup big time with Malacia adding to our intensity and dynamism.
Told you guys this would get sorted this week. Ajax will accept this, they'd be crazy to refuse.

I remember Ashley Young manhandling Di Maria into an advertising board. When was the last time an Argentinan was manhandled .. they play with passion.. Heinze, Rojo,Tevez
Hope this guy is the same
This. Why the need to triple his salary? If hes on lets say 50k a week a doubling to 100k surely is enough to start with. Offer 50k a week more max whatever he is on.Triple his salary? What is he currently on?
Brilliant!Sounds like you've spent too long at that tavern in the town.

Yes I thought the same. It smacked of another player on the decline through injuries coming for a big payday. This proved correct when he was injured for quite a few patches of the season.Varane was once known to be quite a pact CB, but last season I thought he was quite lumbering and awkward. Based on last season I'd have him about level with Lindelof. In fact I had reservations when we signed him after watching him hopelessly try to defend against City in the CL, particularly Sterling who had him in toast and made him look amateur.
Ok, ok, I’ve deletedInappropriate
Martinez DM, Bruno false nine, Fred LBThe answer that's still unknown is how do we line up, with Martinez in the team?
Are we dropping our £80m captain to the bench? is it going to be champions league Varane? Or are we playing a back three?
I think we'll go back 3 for sure with advanced WBs. With our lack of RW it makes sense as wellThe answer that's still unknown is how do we line up, with Martinez in the team?

Sounds like a good deal to me. But then again it's not my money.Daily Record saying:
Manchester United have been asked to pay combined transfer fees of £106m to sign Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez, 24, and Brazil winger Antony, 22, from Ajax.
How many possession teams play back three though? These type of teams, you usually want more players comfortable on the ball and that doesn't happen by adding more centre backs. Also, the outside centre backs usually have some speed because they are really pseudo-full backs. Martinez isn't fast so don't think he's best suited to the back three.I think we'll go back 3 for sure with advanced WBs. With our lack of RW it makes sense as well
Funny stuffMartinez DM, Bruno false nine, Fred LB
Great point. I'm not hot on this transfer at all. Not for €50 million. Right now people want the club to have blind faith with ETH's signings, yet complain about us buying utter dross as requested by LVG and Solskjaer. The same lot who probably bought into the Rangnick sales pitch.Didn’t play in the final. Or the final of the Finallisima.
In fact Argentina’s starting pair are Otamendi & Romero. So a 34 year old City reject & an on loan Spurs player are deemed better then this guy. Hardly a ringing endorsement of a player we’re about to drop €50 million on.
Ajax are probably trying to hide the true cost of Antony in the Martinez fee to minimise the amount they have to pay to Sao Paolo on the 20% sell-on clause in Antony's contract.Daily Record saying:

Fair if in euros, with a slight premium paid for weakening Ajax. That's probably what we will end up negotiating to if interested.Daily Record saying:

Great point and smart move if true.Ajax are probably trying to hide the true cost of Antony in the Martinez fee to minimise the amount they have to pay to Sao Paolo on the 20% sell-on clause in Antony's contract.
they should make Boris Johnson chairman, then he could get donors to pay for everything...Great point and smart move if true.
Dodgy move is what it isGreat point and smart move if true.
Lisandro will make a bigger difference to our team than even FDJ imo. Being e defensive player and very tenacious… qualities in short supply in our team. Eriksen, Garner and other number 8’s kinda make up for some of FDJ qualities though not as good.
Not happy with the reported fee.
He's short, not brilliant on the ball (good passer with time and space, but breaks down when under pressure). He's quickish but not lighting fast.
Sound like a player you get for 30million tops.
