Yeah, I’m not sure the inter move makes sense either. They’ll struggle to win Serie A, let alone challenge at the top of Europe. City and PSG seems the best options available in terms of money, trophies and having a shot at the UCL.

Juve cant afford him and Ronaldo and I think we’re in a transition. He wants a team that can challenge immediately.
I don't think money or wages is an issue for Messi at this stage of his career. He obviously wants to win CL one more time.

Yes playing at Inter with Lukaku and co., cant be appealing to him. Surely United would make more sense than Inter at least. But City probably makes the most likely destination for him.

Juve for all their dominance only won the league by a single point. They are in decline and with Messi in addition to the signings they already made, will walk the league.

Barca won’t replace Messi, he’s their Sir Alex. They’ll be in free fall when he leaves.

Is it even possible to replace Messi? Genuinely speaking. Having a player who can do so much to such a ridiculous level. He's like 3 players in one.

Tbf to Inter, Conte's done a sensational job at the helm, they gave Juventus their closest title challenge in years last year and finished a point behind them in the standings and Juventus will have a novice coach in Pirlo this season.

Imagine adding Messi to that team, the thought of reigniting his rivalry with Ronaldo could be appealing too on top of spiritually following in Maradona's footsteps

Yeah I would tend to agree but that still only leaves city and psg, doesn’t it?

Liverpool won’t, Munich won’t, juve won’t/cant, either Madrids no.

Those are the realistic contenders for the UCL.

You’d imagine that players who have earned a lot in the past would be comfortable taking drastic pay cuts, but unfortunately there is no precedent for that. Even if he took a drastic pay cut he’d still be commanding 500k at the very very least.

I will vomit when he signs for City. Love him as a player, but to join the plastics would be gutting.

The board leaked that Messi had decided the line up in Lisbon and It's false.K
Koeman's call lasted 1 minute, 52 seconds(to Suárez)

I'm intrigued by Barca's potential set-up if Messi were to finally leave the Camp Nou. I guess Greizmann will finally get his more accustomed role back.

Yeah but I think Sarri had a big impact on juve and their season. Of course inter made good progress but I’d still wager juve to win the league next season. Inter also has an ageing team.

Alas, this is all hypothetical of course. He’s probably likelier to end up staying anyway.

Is the TV network Cuatro reliable?
No idea mate but it’s curious that it was reported just few hours before official transfer request from Messi to leave was made public.

There is no doubt in my mind that protests have to really go up a level if we don't respond to a blockbuster signing like that for our rivals

Why would Messi take a pay cut? This is the guy that almost faced jail for tax evasion.

Favourites to sign him in order:
City
PSG
Inter
United

I still wouldn't put it past Messi to remain at Barcelona. The situation is fixable.

Imagine Lukaku pointing after Messi fails to square it to him.

Could imagine that it would go a little like this

I think that's the only outlet linking us with a move for Messi.
I know but we’ve been quiet in the transfer market all summer except for Sancho. That doesn’t mean there is nothing going on. Remember Sanchez, we came up out of nowhere once we got positive replies from his agent.

If he really leaves Barca (and I heavily doubt that), I really, really hope that he joins Juventus.

Messi and Ronaldo are two of the best players ever and they have been on the "best of the World" level consistently for ~15 years. That is just incredible.

And now there is the small chance, that we could see these two legends playing for the same team. I don't know if they would get along good with each other. Both are used to be THE star at the club and to earn much more money than their team mates.

Additionally especially Ronaldo is and always was quite egotistic on the pitch.

But I think it would be great for the whole football world to see them both together.

Apparently Juve wants to build a younger team but when they signed Ronaldo it was said that they do everything to win the Champions League again.
Juve won it the last time in 1996, right?
So next year it is 25 years since their last win. Now they have a realistic (I don't know if it would be financially possible for them) to unite the best two players of the last decade in order to win the CL again after 25 years.

Even as a Bayern fan, that would be a really nice story for Juve, Ronaldo and Messi.

Maybe.

I just hope Messi doesn't go to City.

I’m pretty sure Barca are up to their eyeballs in debt and they’re in financial trouble with their massive wage bill and ageing squad. Involved in dubious transfers with creative accounting to post profits but yeah, sure, believe this is some marketing strategy, for the whole world to look in shock and horror at how incompetent they are.
How incompetent are they? Getting to a semi final of the CL, only 4 teams did it. Freak result against Bayern in a one off game when usually there'd be a home and away leg. Finishing 5 points off top of La Liga... wow! What a disastrous situation they are in. Imploding completely. I see what your saying...

At 33 years old I'm pretty confident Messi doesn't want to wait around joining a club in transition,a phase that could take out the remaining years of his career for little reward.
He has to join a club who are doing the business now.

Obviously nothing, but it'd sting to see Messi play for our city rivals.
But it would be good seeing him in the premier league too. As horrible as those blue nosed cnuts are.

Yea quote some clowns post... proves the point. Media bullshit. Who the feck is that guy? (Graham Hunter)

Oh shit! I just realised. You work for ESPN... posting this shit on here and getting your clickbait works in your favour... well played clown!

Clowns post? You’re the one trying to say that this is simply Barca trying to steal Bayern’s thunder for some monetary gain. Do you realise how ridiculous that sounds? Read up on what’s been going at Barca for years now and how this was the last straw for Messi. Educate yourself a little bit before posting nonsense.

Lives in Barcelona. Loves Barca. Has written books on Barca and Pep. Very knowledgable about all things Barcelona. An authority, really.

Yea a clown seagull that follows trawlers. What does he know other than the shit he's been fed? feck all.

If that's not your train of thought when you see this as a possibility, then you're doing this football thing all wrong

You would think if we were even remotely in the running then the likes of Athletic, Romano & Telegraph would have name checked us and they clearly didn't
