You're right. They shouldn't.

However if we had somebody with this much power we could get rid of the Glazers and Woodward in one shot...... If only eh? Hahaha
They fail to back Ole this summer and we have a poor season they better hope fans don’t come back into the stadiums because I think they’ll be in trouble. The atmosphere was already turning last year but Ole and COVID saved them.

So Messi will fax another cancellation of cancellation of contract request
Maybe he will send a pigeon next time with a paper message, it'd end up taking a dump as it leaves to sum up how Messi is feeling. In all honesty, can someone explain how fax machines are still used in 2020? Or am I missing something here that emails can't do?

Faxes have more legal authority than e-mails. It's a widely used method by major clubs, even today.

Neymar left Barca precisely because he didn't want to play second fiddle to Messi. If he gets to return as the prodigal son and undisputed number one star, it'll very much work out for him.

He legit wanted to return last summer to play with Messi again.

He's not returning there with no Messi and a side that can't challenge for trophies.

My money is on the MLS or some other league where he can go and enjoy living, have fun, but nobody cares what he does on the pitch.

Hes not going anywhere too competitive as that would risk tainting his legacy. If he goes to PSG and doesnt win them the CL, it will be considered a failed move, so they're out. Inter are too far behind Juve so I cant see him wanting to do that. Bayern cant afford him and probably wouldn't want him either.

When Ronaldo could move to Juventus at his age, why can't Messi move to another European team. City for example?

No, that's about it 100%. There is no one who actually looks at the situation who is going to put any of this on Koeman, that's just silly. He was chosen to take on the poisoned chalice by the actual decision makers who bear absolutely all the responsibility for what's happening at the club.

so you think that 'no more privileges' isn't his idea?

This week a motion of censure will be promoted against Josep Maria Bartomeu, 16,000 signatures are needed

He's on a million pounds a week???? Jeeez

Why does this thread title still attribute this to Romano.. its been officially confirmed I think?

President Josep Maria Bartomeu has denied to SPORT that he has submitted his resignation

Bartomeu's denying that he's stepped down, we're in for a ride folks

I think he's an instrument of a board that has fecked things up beyond repair.

yeah, even if the board have told him that x or y player are for sale having a call for less than 60 seconds isn't how you go about it, and you certainly drop the frog in boiling water when taking down the most powerful person in the team.

He could have taken lessons from Mourinho with Rooney for how its done.

I wonder how much significance the Glazers sanctioning Tampa's move for Brady will have on any potential deal we could make him. Big wages yes but they would earn a good chunk of it back in merchandising and shirt sales.

There is some degree of symmetry there.

The details coming out paint an ugly picture of the relationship between him and the club, can't imagine their marriage will continue much further/longer...

He did that flawlessly.

Pleeeease Bartomeu don`t resign, we need the drama to continue.

Plus Messi had a much better season individually than Brady's last season with the Patriots.

He wants to leave because:
He doesn't trust the board
he does not see them competent to reverse the situation.
Unable to assemble a competitive team.
He didn't like how they treated some team mates, among them Suárez.

Yeah true. I can genuinely see it personally.

People discounting us because we're not an 'elite' team anymore but money talks at the end of the day and we're as big of a team as Barcelona are. I don't see him going to City because I think Pep will leave next year.

I think we should brief the press that we are considering offering 3-4 unwanted players in return for Messi. That's what Barca do. Or they tell the other club what the price for their player should be.

Imagine the headline "United prepared to exchange Rojo, Jones, Mata and Pereira for Lionel Messi".

This is edge of your seat stuff.

I have basically been on the caf non stop since 4pm today, Switching between the Maguire and Messi thread.
What a day of twists and turns
