There is and its rather big. He is playing in a league that has defending with the same quality as jello. He is given so much room, that if a player of his standard was not putting these goals away, then he's not doing his job properly.

This is becoming a bit of urban myth. There wasn't much of a difference between those two seasons. He's only suffered a real dip in form at the start of this season. People say he only scored goals last season, but that's because it's easier to remember the goals from a game.
Form has alot to do with it. Ronaldo was coming back from ankle surgery while Messi had come back from a successful Olympic tour. The build up to the season was completely different for both players in favour of Messi. Ronaldo is only now getting into his stride and he's ripping teams apart like last year.
To be honest, I'd rather take the opinion of Weaste who's living in Spain and has done for numerous years, then two bitter Arsenal fans who will do what ever they can to downplay what Ronaldo has done.

He got two early goals in a fair amount of games to kill the game off. Thats all you can ask for. He won a huge amount of games almost single handedly. Scored against almost every team he played against. Scored a huge variety of goals. All you can ask for really.

He scored more goals, was a threat from all directions, with the ball at feet, in the air, from free kicks, took our pens etc. Messi lacked a bit of end product at times and frankly i dont see how him being fit the whole time would have made a difference seeing as we beat them and messi played well but was just faced a defence that was too good on the two nights.

Performance wise Messi at his best was better always. FOr standout gobsmacking brilliance he's always better. ROnaldo had a more effective couple of seasons but that doesnt make him the better footballer. He deserves everything he's gotten but i'd always on any given day take Messi in a heartbeat over Ronaldo.
