Ronaldo, Messi is having a better season.
You don't like me cos I hate Arsenal and your legened Henry, you can try to disguise this as much as you like, but it wouldn't change anything.
You bore me.
What? Ronaldo what? This answer doesn't make sense.
Who is currently playing better - Ronaldo or Messi? Answer that question.
But like I said, you can't even answer it properly if it means admitting someone else is playing better than your favourite. You even put his name fecking first, it has no place in that sentence unless of course you were saying Ronaldo is currently playing better, which you weren't. Yet you still put it there because it's so hard.
And I don't 'hate,' it's definitely pity and it's because you're an idiot for the most part. I'm telling you that's why, there is no other reason and I'm clearly not trying to disguise it.
Some more playground insults...

I think its safe to assume that when someone says "they are both great but xxx is more talented" it's safe to assume it's a diplomatic way of saying he is the better player.
Lippi said Messi is the best, Mourinho also said he is better than Ronaldo, the list goes on and on and grows and grows.
I said Ronaldo is the better player, Messi is having a better season.
How exactly do you define playing better currently? Is Anelka currently playing better than Drogba? Is Anelka a better player than Drogba?
It's not an insult.
And it's obviously the truth. You obviously don't know what inept means, or how it's used.
You think that Ronaldo is the best player in the world right? Now, to be the best player in the world you'd safely assume he'd generally be performing at a high standard. On one of those scales you'd assume a 9 average would be about right. And as you say he's been the best player from around 06 this would mean he'd have been playing at around that level, for the majority, since then.
Now, if he hasn't recieved a 9/10 rating for his performance it's safe to say he put in an inept display, not because he's shite, but because he had an off day. As you're obviously expecting him to put in these 9-rated games as a rule.
Keep plugging away Cal.
Don’t be daft Cesc it makes perfect sense. Ronaldo is playing better but Messi is having the better season
I didn't ask you who was the better player, I asked you who was playing better. It has nothing to do with who is a better player, it's a fecking simple question that requires one word for an answer.
It's just so hard to admit that Messi is playing better than your favourite that you have to say/type his name out first. It's beyond tragic.
Anyway, we're in agreeance - Messi is currently playing better. Is it beyond you to say that without mentioning CR7's name? Show me you can.
WHat are you getting at?
I agree that Messi has been better than Ronaldo this season.
However, I do NOT agree he's a better player overall.
Mourinho has also said plenty of other players are better than Ronaldo - either it's mind game ahead of the CL or he has personal issues with Ronaldo.
Anyway, what Capello said was clearly "Messi is more talented than Ronaldo", if you want to interpret that as "Messi is better than Ronaldo", you're just fitting your opinion into his quote.
Err... no, you're supposed to rate the players' performance based on what you know they can do.
Gibson has plenty of 8s & 9s, does that mean he had a world class performance? No, clearly it means he exceeded expectation and played very well.
Ronaldo has plenty of 6s & 7s, meaning that people think he had an average game. Not "rubbish" as FV claimed.

I've said many times in this thread that Messi is having a better season, so you just want me to repeat that...
On Jan 27:
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Messi is currently playing better...
Happy?
So what did he really mean by this oh wise Cal? I guess he really meant Ronaldo was the better player. After all you have two great players but one is more talented yet this equates to the less talented player being better?
Lippi was more straight forward "the best? Messi"...
Er, this is exactly the point dipshit.
If Gibson put in 9's every single game of the season he'd be counted as a world-class midfielder. He doesn't (even play) so he isn't.
Ronaldo is expected to get 9's and 10's (which irnoically is why you guys brought him into this thread about Lionel Messi - because you think he's the BPiTW). Ronaldo is a world class player, therefor he's expected to put in his fairshare of 8's/9's and 10's.
So unless you think Ronaldo is as 6/7 type player he put in a fecking inept performance.
Excellent. I honestly thought it was beyond you.
And you see we're not saying he's a better player in general, just that he's playing better ATM. Could change in a month, or never.
Fair points Striker but Messi this season has to this point been better than Ronaldo was last season. His over all effect on his team is unparamounted. Only maybe Inter show the same reliance on Ibrahimovic as Barca do with Messi.
In that case I actually agree with you.
FV & vinay are arguing that Messi is the better player in general, in fact, vinay even thinks Messi was the better player back in 05/06 when Barca won the lot.

messi is but he's not world/european player of the year. Defenders don't need an invitation to make it hard for these players but when your 'the best' they'll try harder
I do appriciate that's weak as people know full well about messi however..
I also think it's tougher for someone like Ronaldo playing in England then spain for his type of player. It's a quicker, less technical league
Messi has qualities and so does Ronaldo. If you prefer a dribbler, naturally anyone would pick messi
Having said that Ronaldo can head the ball better then most strikers.
Currently it's messi and it's easy but even at maybe 70% Ronaldo is having a great season but the fact is not by his standards
I think we'll see Ronaldo back to his best next season. I'm sure he'll finish the season strong but I think the injury really knocked him back.
There's certainly no shame saying messi. That said Ronaldo scored in the european cup final - so let's see how the rest of the season pans out. These players tend to make more of a difference in the business part of the seasons
The name of the games winning - these days - and Ronaldo's goals and few assists were vital
Let's just see if messi can keep his form up. if he does, there's no question he'll pick up the world or european or maybe even both but it's over a duration
I said before the difference for me with Ronaldo is if Barcalona has Ronaldo last season. They'd have won it all. As good as Messi was not even he could break us down.
But we'll see. Maybe we'll play them later in the season. I would like to think we would play ..alot better
Yeah i'm with him on that one, fully of the belief that Messi has always been the better footballer. Despite being 3 years younger.
Again, just your opinion. Ronaldo was the biggest factor in us winning the PL, CL double.
Statistically Ronaldo has scored more goals than Messi has (in the same number of games).
Ronaldo won plenty of PL games on his own last season, even coming on as a sub and scoring 2 goals like Messi did 2 weeks ago.
Which is a stupid way to look at it and one which can never be proven either way. United without Ronaldo were a much MUCH stronger outfit last season than Barcelona without Messi.
United are/were the best team in Europe, TEAM, that includes Ronaldo but you have to remember that at least 80% of his goals are/were down to the work of his team mates. The amount of Barca players who had a great or even a good season last year is maybe 3. How many United players had a good season last year?
goals goals goals....
Messi created more goals in fortnight than Ronaldo did for the entire last season.
No, that's not how ratings work, I honestly don't think Gibson was any better than Ronaldo in that game. Gibson scored highly because people have lower expectations of him.
Ah yes, this is true.
Though if he was to get 9's each and every game throughout a season no doubt peoples expectations would be raised. So my point stands - if he didn't play anywhere near to his extremly high expectation he put in an inept performance.
I thought it's well known that Barca were awful last season.
A better comparison with be United last season without Ronaldo and Barca this season without Messi.
Can't remember Ronaldo missing a game.
It's already been widely known that Barca score around 3 goals every 70mins with messi on the pitch and around 1 ever 90 or so with him not.
I'd say Ronaldo over the season scores 7, would you call that an inept season?
An average Ronaldo is still the 2nd highest PL scorer...
He could cherry pick a fair few goals but really contribute nothing by way of attacking play for the most part all season, ruin the cynergy, give the ball away and get in other players ways. But the scorecard will still have his name on it.
So statistically it could be flattering. But it would really be inept when compared to his real lofty standards.
I think its safe to assume that when someone says "they are both great but xxx is more talented" it's safe to assume it's a diplomatic way of saying he is the better player.
Lippi said Messi is the best, Mourinho also said he is better than Ronaldo, the list goes on and on and grows and grows.
Many times that was the case last season. So many otherwise poor performances were masked by a goal and a headline. I would love to know how many MOTM awards he got on the caf last season. I reckon it would be a lot lower than people like Cal? would have you assume.
His achievments last season speak for themselves and what his goal scoring feat was incredible but his performances were quite often average but a goal masked that and kept the "BPITW" brigade banging the drum.
And all this 15 goals in 33 games as being a great indication of how good he has been is rubbish too. If you take a look at the teams he's scored against it's hardly impressive.
You're not doing yourself any favours with the things your saying, I must say.
La Liga is hardly impressive at the moment, does that mean all of Messi's efforts should be cancelled? Of course not, but, as I said earlier in the thread; the measure of Messi is yet to come and until it it does, with the onset of the CL, a lot of what's being said is ridiculously overblown hot air.
I'm not part of your squabble with Cal? but would like to ask you something.
Do you think that Ronaldo is out of the running for this year's WPOTY? Because, by the sounds of it, you're making some pretty foregone conclusions and stating them as fact.
