How can you have 2 players rated exactly the same and performing exactly the same and one winning the league and one finishing last? By definition, if he finished last, he must have played badly - don't give me ridiculous hypothesis about putting Ronaldo in the Derby team last season or something - most players play at clubs of their level.

Your very first post - 2 months into a good season and you were already calling him the best player ever, if that's not fanboii behaviour, I've no idea what is.

Good players tend to play better when at good clubs but this is a long long way from determining the ability of a player according to the league position of the club they play for.

Well if you honestly believe the bolded then it's here for all to witness right there - you're simply stupid, and that's that.

If you'd actually read it (the ten times I suggested) you'd have realised I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION.

 at you.

You know what Brwned, you're beginning to sound like those Goons who claimed that it was never Henry's fault when they bottled it in Europe time and again.

It's always all the other players in the team's fault.

Now Messi is ALWAYS brilliant, Barca finishing 18pt behind Madrid is everyone else's fault.

See I told you BRWND, Cal's seen through all the logic, common sense and actual insight and discovered your deepseeded Goon-loving ways!

SPRUNG!

Why would I want to read your declaration of undying love for Messi over and over again?

I can't even be bothered to laugh at you, you can continue to wank over Henry & Messi and whoever you think was so great. I'll continue enjoying United picking up everything that matters. :smirk:

Getting a bit desperate now aren't we?

You've been ousted as an idiot (over and over and over again mind), so you totally avoid the question/points all together.

Then to top it off you try and resort to some sort of cheap shot, thinking it will actually wind me up? And you have the audacity to call anyone else a fanboii?

I laugh.

You've got nothing, and what's more I wish (for your sake) United all the success they can get because it's clearly making up for everything else that's wrong with your life.

No at all, if anyone has looked like an idiot in this thread, that person is you.

You claimed that I was the only one arguing against your proclaimation of Messi being the best footballer in the World - if you can actually read (which I'm beginning to doubt), you'd find there are actually quite a few people who have disagreed with you.

You obsession with Messi is the very definition of fanboii behaviour, and what's more, you're not even a Barca fan. I'd understand if you were a Barca fan that you might go a little over the top about your players, but you just seem to want to jump on the bandwagon to take the BPITW title away from a United player.

I laugh even more.

You only have your United vendetta in your life, I don't know how you made it through the last couple of years with United (& Ronaldo) winnning everything whilst Arsenal go from crisis to crisis and soon to be stripped of your "Big 4" tag. :smirk:

Jesus Christ Cal, I am absolutely speechless!!!

There's nothing wrong with that, and that's my fecking point you dipshit. A TEAM IS THE SUM OF ITS PARTS. These include THE WHOLE GOD DAMN SQUAD, THE COACHING STAFF, THE MANAGER, THE BOARD, THE FANS and the MONEY THEY BRING IN, and a THOUSAND OTHER FACTORS.

Everything plays its fecking part. And just because everything works out doesn't somehow make someone a better fecking player. Christ how can you not understand that?

Here's one last final explanation:

Player A is putting in performances of 8/10. His club finishes last.
Player B is putting in performances of 8/10. His club wins a trophy.

Both players are rated the same. But by your logic player B is better because his CLUB has won a trophy. But this logic would clearly be wrong, as several other people have pointed out.

Oh and:

Go back to the first page and re-read my first post. Then re-read it another 10 times. Then explain how anything in those two questions betrays any fanboii nature.

Then when you're done embarrassing yourself go and look up the word irony, because you clearly don't understand what it means.

Hopefully you've now learned.

What is so difficult to understand about this, Cal? I met an American last year who had EXACTLY the same mentality as you, and it was just mind boggling, to say the least. Not a yank like this guy by any chance, are you?

I have no United vendetta. I actually like watching them play, and if we cannot win anything then I'm glad they do because they play the right way.

I have nothing but admiration for Ronaldo as a player, in fact you can go through all the old threads about being rid of him due to his petulent ways and you'll see that I was one of the people saying he WILL develop into one of the (if not the) best.

I can, and am willing to appreciate other clubs/players and look OUTSIDE MY OWN.

If I was a fanboii clearly this wouldn't be the case. You, however, talk down anything non-United. You don't have the time for anyone aside from United players, and even worse you fail to aknowledge some of the games greats at all. You then go on and on and on arguing with people who continue to prove your sheer idiocy. You also are a noted notorious uber hard anti-Gooner e-fan.

Then, in special cases, you resort so simple 'well my dick's bigger than yours.' As if you supporting a successful club means you've actually achieved something personally.

That is fanboii behaviour. That is what you do.

This thread was something to provoke discussion. Are we witnessing someone who could become one of (if not the) greatest players ever?

Typically you wanted nothing of it, and brought up Ronaldo. Ronaldo has NOTHING to do with this thread. Yet you bring it up, as if we're somehow insulting YOU by even considering someone else as the World's best.

This is fanboii behaviour. This is what you do.

You're quite simply (and I'm sorry for being politically incorrect everyone) retarded. Case fecking closed.

No, but I just cannot agree with the goon that some people are immune from criticism.

It was never Henry's fault when Arsenal bottled it in Europe.

Now it wasn't Messi's fault when Barca finished 3rd last season.

It's always the rest of the team playing badly whilst his favourites having "brilliant" seasons.

I find it hilarious that my thinking Messi is currently the best player in the world, as a reflection of his current performances, somehow translates into me having a United vendetta.

And I'm the fanboii?

The world's out to get you Cal.

A player doesn't have to wait to be officially crowned BPITW for people to call him that.Ronaldo was the BPITW in the last 2 seasons fact but he isn't this season and it's Messi, just because it hasn't been official it doesn't mean he isn't.

Once again I have to object with you using logic, common sense and insight to fuel your arguements kouroux. Because Cal will no doubt see through it all and uncover your deep secret love for all things Gooner.

You claim to have no United vendetta, yet refuse to even consider the likes of Schmeichel, Cantona & Ronaldo having very valid claims to be the best player ever in the Premiership and claim that only Shearer, Henry & Keane (1 United player, despite United's total domination of the PL) can be considered.

I have often talked about non-United players I admired, I even acknowledged Kaka deserved his WFOTY thing for his CL performances that year.

You start a thread to sing the praises of Messi a couple of months into a season that he's finally doing well in, and you accuse me of being a fanboii.

Here's a better comparison.

Tevez won the Premiership and Champions League last year, and was a crucial part of that team success.
Thierry Henry was absolutely heroic throughout 2003 and 2004, yet he managed "just" a Premiership title.

Who performed better?

The world's out to get you Cal.

I know how painful it must be for you to see your beloved goons blow your season up this time last season and go into a downward spiral.

But you know full well that you jumped onto the Messi bandwagon first and foremost to take the BPITW tag away from a United player.

Messi is a very good player, but he's not as good as Ronaldo just yet. We will have to wait until the end of the season to judge him.

Messi looks better because of his skill on the ball and that is why people wank over him. however Ronaldo so far has been much more effective.

Henry in 03/04.

Whilst Tevez played an important role, he wasn't our most vital player like Henry was for Arsenal.

What?

WHEN THE feck DID I SAY ANY OF THAT? I NEVER even ADRESSED that, and when I quoted your post containing that I was QUITE feckING CLEARLY adressing a different section.

YOU'VE just simply ASSUMED all that nonsense because you're a BLITHERING IDIOT.

And no, I started this thread (LIKE I'VE feckING EXPLAINED, and I would actually know what I intended to do with this thread seeing as I created it, funnily enough) to ask a question and provoke some discussion.

Simple. And you're obviously simple so it should be an easy concept to understand.

Even your fellow supporters think you're mentally challenged and laugh at you.

The image of a Messi photo full of jizz reminds me of this bloke I used to play footy with who "blew his load" watching Messi play.

I'm going deaf from all this yelling, you better be sending me some finance to afford the hearing aid i'll need after this discussion is closed.

To be fair, that's still you using your ridiculously flawed logic. Ronaldo was easily the best player in the world that year, yet a few performances in the Champions League for Kaka somehow equates to the award.

It's what you come to expect with FIFA, though.

You accused me of "pathetic anti-Arsenal bias" when I said Henry wasn't the best player in the Premiership.

I went on to point out that Schmeichel, Cantona, Ronaldo all have very valid claims to have been the best player in the Premiership which you convenient ignored.

So it's easy to assume you have a United vendetta based of your views of the Premiership.

You repeat yourself so often with that "fellow supporters" thing, funny how those who agree with you are my "fellow supporters" and you conveniently ignore all the people who agree with me that Ronaldo is still the BPOITW.

Whatever, the point is Arse fanboii accused me of not seeing anything outside United when I clearly did, on many occasions.

The fact is that he's just upset I do not share his fanboii views on Henry & Messi.

Ah I see you've once again gone for the ageless 'well I've got nothing so I'll resort to the ageless fanboii oh-yeah-well-my-cock-is-bigger-than-yours,' chestnut.

I also like how you've decided to assume I was everything I was considering when I created this thread. Because clearly you actually know, and obviously I wouldn't because I didn't create this thread, hey wait a second......

But I especially love how you've, once again, failed to address any point and continued to assume/blither-on like the fool you are. Prove to me I was the first person to bring up the whole 'best player in the world' debate.

Prove it and I will be gone from here forever.

Then once you've eaten that humble pie properly explain to me how, by asking a simple question as to if people think Messi could oneday be considered the greatest ever - thereby taking into account his potential, room to develop and actual skill - is jumping on a bandwagon. Furthermore prove how it relates in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER to my deepseeded United vendetta. Go on, explain how you've gleaned all that from the following question:

me said:
Seriously, could he one day be regarded as an all time great?

My tip - YES.

Could we actually be witnessing the greatest player ever?

Seriously, could he one day be regarded as an all time great?

My tip - YES.

Funny how you left out that first line...

Don't know about you, but I'd think that suggesting someone who has performed well for 2 months after 2 seasons of underachievement "The greatest player ever" is very much jumping on the bandwagon.

You accused me of "pathetic anti-Arsenal bias" when I said Henry wasn't the best player in the Premiership.

I went on to point out that Schmeichel, Cantona, Ronaldo all have very valid claims to have been the best player in the Premiership which you convenient ignored.

Nnnnnyyyyooope.

I said your bias is pathetic because I've seen it in numerous threads. And it's something that's clearly stopping you ever adding any meaningful objective points where Gooner-things are related. And it is a pathetic bias because every single chance you get you try to pot Henry in particular, even when even your own/everyone praises him in any way. Even in the face of overwhelming fact and opposition you continue to 'fight' on.

You've assumed I said your bias is pathetic because you mentioned those three players. You're clearly wrong.

So it's easy to assume you have a United vendetta based of your views of the Premiership.

And explain how it's easy to assume as much?

Please go ahead and do it in light of all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

You repeat yourself so often with that "fellow supporters" thing, funny how those who agree with you are my "fellow supporters" and you conveniently ignore all the people who agree with me that Ronaldo is still the BPOITW.

And I don't ignore those that agree with you, in fact if you'd bother to actually research and stop assuming (it hasn't really worked out for you so far now, has it?) you'd have seen that I've addressed others.

And I have no problem with them or their opinions. And do you know why? It's because they don't use bullshit daft points to underpin their opinion. Only you do.

Only you.

You can't have it both ways, either Messi's season was hit by injuries so he performed badly; or he wasn't much affected by the injuries and he performed brilliantly.

Make up your mind.

Messi's season was hit by injuries, but he still played brilliantly when he had the chance, which is why he came second in those awards despite his injury problems.

Funny how you left out that first line...

Don't know about you, but I'd think that suggesting someone who has performed well for 2 months after 2 seasons of underachievement "The greatest player ever" is very much jumping on the bandwagon.

How is it funny?

It's a valid question, but I figured you'd misconstrue it. Though you might not be to blame in full for that as it is typed, and not heard from the mouth.

I asked it sincerely, could he become the greatest? Are we witnessing a player that has it in them to become the best ever?

BTW, in all this you've never actually addressed the original questions.

Hrm....... Pathetic.

:lol::lol::lol:
