That is the problem now adex. He has scored every type of goal imaginable apart from an overhead kick, and those goals that look difficult he takes with ease. Should another star score as many spectacular goals as he does, then we would be drooling. When he does it now, it is as if it is just a normal goal. What is normal for him is extraordinary for others and we'd be talking for weeks on end. If he ever scores with an overhead kick with his right foot, then I think that will be the cherry on the top.
I hear ya, I don't need 6 players closing me down to blow it - one suffices. I think that fluidity & close control in tight spaces is an aspect to his game that gets overlooked.
Pep made the MJ comparisons and it does bear some similarity - often times he simply picks & chooses his moments to accelerate at the defense. Both started out just going 100mph and defenses adjusted - then they did

He equalled it instead, by going from a player who had a 0.3 goals per game for Argentina with Maradona and all the other managers, to a player who has scored 12 goals in 9 games or 1.33 goals per game.
At just over 25 he has bagged over 30 goals for Argentina. Some are very harsh when it comes to Messi and internationals.
That may to something to with failing again and again at every major tournament finals.

He was a player that was played in the wrong position up until Maradona decided to give up the job. He has a manager now that knows how to use Messi and his abilities to the maximum. What you fail to realise is that ever since Maradona left, Messi has got better. 12 goals in 9 internationals speaks volumes about the strides he has made to up his game in internationals. His hattrick goal against Brazil which was in no way an easy match, speaks volumes about his ability. I think when we see Pipita, Aguero, Tevez and Messi together in the next world cup, they will go far.

i personally could care less if messi wins a world cup or not. it will not take away from his legacy.

What do you expect? You need to accept that whatever you say about Messi will always be wum-based and you get picked up on it. I dislike Ronaldo, and I admit to it, but he has had a good few years where if Messi hadn't been around, then he might have won the Ballon D'Or another couple of times. Do you have anything nice or constructive about Messi?
