Lionel Messi

He was injured because he collided with the Benfica keeper.

Thought it was his right leg that was hurt. Explains why he's not injured for long. Was only a slight brush. I reckon he'd be back to 100% in a week if he gets a rest next match.

And it's quite genious of Benfica too - would not all the Barca players be offside when Messi passed?

They were, in fact the play ended with an offside when Messi made a pass in their direction.

Yeah exactly.. That's why I thought he would be sidelined for a long time too. I thought initially he was injured at the moment he struck the ball, which would have meant most likely a ligament injury..

I think it was his left knee, well he was hit on it anyway. Looks a bit awkward.

according to "sport.es", Messi wants to play this sunday against Betis

when asked about the injury and why, even though he was injured he kicked the ball, he said "i felt the pain, so i thought that it was going to be the last ball i would kick in a long while, so i tried to score"

brilliant!

Nice quote.

Here is a quote from sport.es Barça:

And is that Leo Messi stands as the most expensive player of the moment, with a market value of 140 million euros.

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, in second place, does not exceed 100 'kilos', standing at 96 million.

Every time he scores a goal from now on, his market value will continue to go up.

I love that this happens almost every game, whether it's a Segunda Division side, or a star studded CL side. Unbelievable

Seeing that still photo, you cannot help but think that Messi really has got the respect he deserves. He must be the only player today who can have entire first XI tracking back trying to stop him from dribbling. Now that is what I call respect. Normally, it is an image of the whole of Sunderland against us, when we throw everything to the wind to try and score that all important goal. Here, this is 11 men against 1 genius.

I wish I could post a screenshot, but it was just wave after wave of "Messi injured, oh noes, the record, I love him, this is an injustice, Muller has a voodoo doll, etc..."

My twitter timeline was much better: "Go to hell Messi! F*ck off Messi!! YESSSSSS!!! I hope he never recovers! Break that Muller record now ha! He broke his own leg instead hahaha!".

Fantastic.

I got those too. Sad fecks

Oh my.. I totally made that up to be fair, as I don't even have a twitter account.. I didn't even think that such sad f*cks exist!

However, on the other hand, if you did get ones like these, don't you think that those are really the far more nauseating ones that you should have quoted in your original post?

It really was.
I like Messi and hope to feck that he breaks every record but people were acting as if he has died.

No, they are acting like people who almost witnessed a player they like/love achieve something historical before their eyes, only to fail to do so because of an injury at the very last moment..

Also, I'm pretty sure every one of them sent only one message, so the problem could just be that you have too many of them on your twitter account.

Err, I know what was written on my timeline and it was hysterical. Stop making assumptions of things you don't know about.

Well in Daniel.

Well in Daniel.

I was wondering if you're worth replying to, so I checked your posts in this thread, and I found a lot of brilliant posts.. On the top of the pack is this:

I personally think Rooney offers more than Messi, he isn't just hugging the touch line and waiting for someone to pass the ball to him so he can run at defenses. He offers much in terms of tracking back, and plays with the team and a competent tackler.

Nevermind.
