You really need to take a look in the mirror before calling cal a retard.

In fact, the hypocrisy and contradiction of that post is astounding.

You slate Cal because he has a different opinion to your own, and then plead that its not fair because you have a differing opinion on the matter.


The fact of the matter is, Messi is no genius. Neither is Ronaldo. Its no coincidence that since Xabi and Inniesta have turned it up in a big way, Messi has started latching on to goals and looking amazing. If Rooney or Berbatov were getting the same quality of ball with the defenses of La Liga, they would look just as good in front of goal.

What Messi is good at, is opening up space through his close dribbling and bouncing off the attackers. Giggs has been doing it for years as well, but because he's just some Welsh kid, its nothing special. And again, you look at Messi on the international front and he's not a shade on himself. He struggles because he doesn't have the support play of Barcelona.

On the Ronaldo side, he's constantly lifting for Portugal. He and Nani are really the two stars of that side. If Portugal are to make the world cup, Ronaldo will have to be the player to step up and I have no doubt that he will.

While I do like Messi, if it were the world cup final in the final minute of extra time. Scores leveled at 1-1, I would rather have Ronaldo on my side. Out of the two, he's the most dangerous outside the box and the best at creating something from nothing.

I just read it, it was even more retarded than i thought. So you didnt watch the match last night. Crediting his goals with others when he started and finished his first and did the 2nd on his own...

As for the international thing, Portugal are really really struggling. YOu say this despite Ronaldo and Nani constantly turning up for them... SO basically you have no idea what you are talking about since neither have scored in qualification and the Portuguese press have been getting on their back.

Only cal would agree with that disastrous post. A total farce, shows a clear lack of knowledge in everything it mentions. Shocking stuff, i mean really! :lol:

I've read both FV and Marchi, to summarize : both are wrong. Both Messi and Ronaldo are International Heroes for both countries but don't get me wrong, both are outstanding players they only play shite because of their managers tactics. For Maradona playing Veron on RW ? Plz get real. Portugal has always suffered the loss of a good CF and they still do. They rely on Ronaldo too much thus they suffer. Stop using internationals as comparisons for godsake. They don't help dispute who is better or not.

The first goal was nothing extraordinary. His second goal was class i'll give him that, but that defense was absolute shite.

As for the international thing, Portugal are one game away from not making the world cup with a line up featuring Aguero, Messi, Mascherano & Tevez. Messi looks no better then say Steven Gerrard looks for England, but apparently that makes him a world beater :confused: at the International level :confused:. They have a side with better quality then Portugal but look equally as bad if not worse.
On the other hand, Ronaldo and Nani have struggled to lift Portugal from the shower of shite Carlos Q has placed them in, but kept the team alive, even if Portugal have played woefully. Argentina should be one of the best teams in the world, but I doubt they'd even struggle to beat Australia again.

And yet it again your post shows just how much of a hypocrite you really are. Your so quick to play the poor me game, but then you slate everybody else.
 
Where was i wrong in this case? there isnt even a case, i openly criticised Messi regarding his games for Argentina recently.

Messi has come on a big way since Iniesta and Xabi have started looking sensational. Or did you just miss 06/07 and 07/08 when Barcelona looked half the side they are now. He's found form and added that extra sizzle to the side, but in big games, he's struggle to dominate like he can. Something he's struggled to do at the International level as well. But I guess we can just play that to him playing above himself last season. Seems to pass off well for an equally destructive player.
In the big big european games, like the CL final and semi's, it was Inniesta and Xabi who kept Barcelona alive. Messi looked like a bystander while those two dominated the midfield.

What the feck are you on? seriously? i didnt say Messi was a world beater for Argentina, never have and unless argentina start doing something i wont be saying it anytime soon.

Actually I'm with you here FV, Marchi claims Messi hasn't done shit for Argentina ? What about the olympics and the Copa America ? Thought Messi won both. Portugal has reached a European Final but not with Ronaldo as their main man. He was still an 18 year old then.

Have you watched any Portugal games at all? Portugal have been relying on Ronaldo to get them through while Messi can act as a bystander offering very little to overrall play.

International play is just as important as club play. It's why players like Maradona and Zidane will always be ranked above Messi and Ronaldo. They performed on both levels time and time again.

As for his goals, It was a fine one two, but how is that any better then some of the passes Rooney and Ronaldo were putting together last season. Creating something from nothing were part of their strongest attributes, but again you'll play that down because its Ronaldo...

Their defense is still comparable to the likes of Slovakia or even worse imo. and with Maradona to sort the defense ? You make worthless posts in a worthless thread. Unless Messi and Ronaldo get to a world cup final, both will be considered flashes in the pan, the same way as Zlatan and Best.

Best was the best player in the world, but because he lacked International status, not many outside of England know who the feck he was.

Win a world cup and actually prove himself as the best player in Europe, and then you can call Messi a "genius". Inniesta is the best player for Barcelona, but unfortunately he'll never receive the accolades he deserves.
 
One thing with Messi, is that i wish he wasn't part of this dream team that Barcelona is. I don't see them as a team that would struggle without him. They're really that good.

He's a massive part of this "dream team".

It's him, Xavi and Iniesta that have made that team the way it is. Luckily he hasnt been injured in a while, if he did get injured though people would notice a difference. He's been sensational for them.

2 starts in la liga, 4 goals and 2 assists. There is really nobody else like him at the moment.

There are several players in the world who have returned a better rate then that. Ronaldo for example did the same thing against Spurs and Villa last season in consecutive games. Rooney scoring a hatrick on debut for United didn't make him the best player in the world.

Well after that Euro he hasn't his top gear for his country imo. Still his form for his country ala Messi for Argentina has too many debates due to many other considerations ala coach, tactics, and so on. We shouldn't even be discussing their form internationally. Focus on their footballing skills and domestic form. I'd still rate them on par in terms of quality though. Though Messi is in a well and more organized team than Ronaldo atm. Still without the teamwork Ronaldo still proves that he still scores goals from freekicks/headers/ individual brilliance and so on. Messi gets to shine cuz Xavi/Iniesta are just goddamn good. Not to mention Messi is also good but he surely gets more support than Ronaldo.

P.S.
I'm not a Messi hater but I've watched everygame from Ronaldo starting from his debut and I can say that Messi was better at a younger age, but Ronaldo still has more potential and still can become the most dangerous player in the world. Gotta say Messi is a better dribble though and has more understanding and more teamwork than Ronaldo though, but I'd take Ronaldo's Headers/Freekicks anyday.
