I'd agree for the top4 in England but for the rest I disagree, the defending is overrated in England
Well people will mostly rate the English defense more because of the top4 sides anyway, because they're the only sides who compete against the other top European sides. Still if the Spurs defenders weren't injured and if Laursen didn't retire for Villa and If Citeh's defense get some time to settle down I'd still say the PL have better defenders. La Liga defenders don't look good because they don't play a pressing game thus conceding more imo. Add to that I don't have a clue who's Valencia's, Villareal, Athletico's Madrid's defenders are, and from what I've seen they're not good imo.

Yeah and Messi has barely played one and a half games in la liga you imbicile. So basically Messi still has a better ratio, whilst Messi actually creates chances and has a great assist to his name. Something Ronaldo is incapable of. Another thing Ronaldo has been incapable of is being named MOTM or actually wining a game for his team. In one game Messi has shown more footballing ability than Ronaldo managed in all of his appearances for Madrid so far.

It's not to belittle because most of us who follow sport passionately indulge in extreme hero worship at some points in our lives, usually very early. I used to be the biggest Sachin Tendulkar fan growing up, and whilst I still am there's a level of objectivity now. Once as a kid, I actually wanted another Indian batsman to get out because he had a higher score amongst the two as they were in the middle of a brilliant partnership. While i adore the little master and the genius that he is, things like that and many others never happened past a certain age.

Hmm lets me see, it's a Messi thread, there are currently 2, 3 or 4 threads about Ronaldo. I posted in them about Ronaldo. Having watched Madrid i felt in a decent position to comment.
This being the only Messi thread kicking about i posted a video for those unfortunate enough to not have seen the Barcelona match at the weekend. A video highlighting Messis MOTM performance. A few people had a chat about it then cal starts his usual.
Then i make a point and everyone else starts there usual. THen you go back to going on about how everyone else is guilty of going on about this and going on about that when you do a fair bit of going on yourself.
So in short, someone else brings ronaldo into it, i make a point about his freekicks, a bunch of people take offense (strangely), i explain myself and more people take offense.
Only one person didnt take offense and could see where i was coming from, he then created a thread based on the actual discussion we had. Oddly enough it is a forum based that is supposed to create and revolve around debate, why it offends you when posters post about players i'll never know. Or why you constantly go on about others when you do it yourself i'll never know.

This place for me is for learning more about the beautiful game, Manchester United and feeling the pulse of fellow United supporters. That's it. Everything else is just a bit of light hearted fun. The reason I asked for your age was simply because there are elements in your discussion which come across as that of an adult and others of a teenager. Don't look further into it because there's nothing there. There's no leverage to be gained, there's no topic to mock on and there's no fulfillment of an ego. I simply don't consider it worth my time to engage in such things on the internet.
Plainly put, the excessive obsession with a player that resembles a plutonic emfactuation (if that's possible) of sorts and at the same time, almost a similar negative version of the same for another, makes me wonder how old the likes of you and Cal? are.
