Lets laugh at Liverpool

Oh how I longed for the day when all they would be able to do was celebrate the odd win over us in the league and feck all else.

Fully de-perched those cnuts and you can tell how much it hurts them.

As a united fan who had to live through a large part of Liverpool's glory years, I will savour every single moment that we remain ahead of them. The next target for us has to be getting to 6 European cups while adding further league titles.

They try to paper over it by going on about their 5 European Cups, but it doesn't wash with me. Yes I was disappointed to lose the CL final against Barca, because when you're in a final like that you never want to lose it. But, all I wanted last season was that 19th title. The week leading up to the Chelsea game at OT, I was a nervous wreck the whole week. When we beat them, it was the sweetest feeling ever knowing we'd get our hands on the league title to overtake Liverpool.

More league titles, more trophies won - we are the most successful team in English football history. I think the day will come where we have more European Cups than them, we're only two behind them. They should thank their lucky stars the last two CL finals we've been in, we've faced the best side in the world at the moment in Barcelona otherwise we'd probably be level with Liverpool on 5 cups.

Yep. When Javier scored so soon after kick-off, the feeling was phenomenal; not a million miles away from '99 Final territory.

Reserve team striker Nathan Eccleston, 20, has caused outrage after his posting on Twitter on the 10th anniversary of the atrocity.

In it, he claimed the attacks were "an accident" and that he believed the "Illuminati" – a shadowy society spread across the world – were responsible.

Eccleston, who has so far made nine appearances for the Reds, wrote: "I aint going to say attack don’t let the media make u believe that was terrorist that did it. #O.T.I.S."

OTIS stands for ‘Only The Illuminati Succeed’.

Well he certainly seems like someone endowed with enough mental capacity to form a perspicacious opinion on the happenings of 9/11, so I'm convinced.

3 league defeats in a row. Well in Kenny, la!

The thing is, and I've mentioned it before, there is no easy way out of this now.

They are fecking lucky Cardiff missed three out of five penalties, because without Europe at all, they'd be dead and buried.

Who the feck wants to go to this club? They've got a LOT of deadwood (see Arsenal) some of their best players are aging and need to be replaced (Chelsea) and their squad is known for bottling their big chances(Tottenham)

What can they do now? Lucas coming back will be massive for them, but whose to say how this transfer window will go? The owners have said they won't spend much, the players surely can't settle for this week in week out.

What is attracting players to Liverpool? They have to spend money on shite like Downing because that's all they can get. Why would someone top class go to Liverpool when there is five English sides much better than them.

I hope Reina/Agger/Lucas are contemplating their futures. Why stay at that shite club.

"For me, Stevie has eclipsed all of those for what he has done for Liverpool and England.”

Yeah he hands down beats Scholes' 10 League titles, 3 FA Cups and 2 Champions Leagues.

King Kenny is a huge pull, he's the best manager in the world. They have the best defence in the world, the second best midfield in the world, English best talent on the wings and the best forward in the world. Also, they have the best fans in the wodld. I say they're a very attractive team.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: What has he ever done for England apart from take up a starting berth for the past 10 years and helped them underachieve every single major tournament?

While Gerrard has a selection of tin-pots, the jammiest CL of all time and several undeserved appearances in the EPL team of the year

He is really greater than Robson, Gazza, Scholes, Keane, Hoddle?

Post-derby giddiness isn't limited to the support, I see.

Why not go all the way a la Tomkins while he's at it -- Possibly the Greatest Man Ever to Live! It's about as factually correct as his original assertion.

To be on the safe side: Yes, I do think Gerrard is a fantastic footballer.

Probably not the right thread, but I refuse to give this cnut one of his own.

proven he is the best ever to play for his club

I'd be interested to know what the fans think of this. I'd have thought their 'best ever' player would be someone like Dalglish himself. Rush? Souness? Dunno, but at least those players won proper trophies on a regular basis.

I laughed, a lot.

Made it sweeter how I was chatting to a Liverpool fan when I heard about the third goal. Classic.

Haha last time I looked at their result yesterday was when they were 2-0 up and never bothered to look again. When I just read the thread I took a look again and man I just laughed so hard I'm in tears.

How did they bottle that one? And thanks for the good start in the morning scousers.

I disagree. There are clubs who have started small and built themselves to the top even in today's football. There are 2 ways of doing it. A club can either build a great youth academy Bilbao's style or else it can sign players with high potential and groom them to the top. If clubs like Napoli or Udinese were given 100m to spend and the chance of retaining their stars then they'll probably win the league.

Liverpool's problem is that their manager seems reluctant to go beyond the EPL and sign bargains. While others had been busy signing the Cavanis (15m), Hamsiks etc. Liverpool saw it more fit to bring Carroll for 35m and Henderson for 20m.

They didn't have to buy Downing. Although he's average, he cost 20 million. For the same price they've could've gotten Ashley Young.

For the same price as Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam they might have bought Samir Nasri and Yohan Cabaye.

And for Andy Carroll, they could've signed Demba Ba, thus taking the guy Newcastle eventually signed and not handing over £35,000,000 to the very same club.

All hypothetical, because I can't say Nasri would've ever joined Liverpool, but they've bought badly for the money spent. I'm sure you could replace him with someone else.

Jose Enrique was a good buy and Bellamy was worth it on a free, for sure.

I'd have to say attracting players wouldn't be a problem, Kenny just hasn't bought well.

 walked into a red pub in Liverpool city centre last night and it was wrist-slitting time - they perked up a tiny bit and did some back-slapping over the blue loss.
