To all you lovely people telling United fans to feck off back to their own country and support a local team, where do you think United would be now if their only supporters were in England? Where would the money come from? Sure take it a step further and localise the fan base entirely to Manchester. And the players for that matter if that’s the way you wanna play it.

United =/= England
 
Some people supporting Man United but laughing at England losing is Like when some people support england and their players but wanting, let’s say, Henderson to lose on club level.

What does a club and a country have to do with one another though? That doesn't make much sense to me, especially since United has plenty of players from other countries.

Little advice mate, next time don’t get carried away until you win it… I have seen my nation win 2 World Cup and one euro and lose one of each and the worst by far is to lose in final, much better to lose in groups stages !

Not the OP, but it's fine. Most immigrants I know are solid.

But if an immigrant moved to Burnley, and started supporting Man United, then yeah, that's weird.

Well I certainly don't want to defend them regarding racism. But I only experienced it on a club level, not regarding the national team.

And regarding the generalizations: well I've seen enough of the points in my post also on this board (remember the thread defending booing your opponents anthem and insulting all fans of other countries because it's funny and just belongs to football?) and more than enough on social media.
Certainly not every English fan acted like a cnut but it's not the small minority you make it out to be.

I feel for the "good English fans", after all as a Bayern fan I know how it feels to lose a final at your home ground.

So? Were they not Italian’s being racist in Italian club football? You blamed England for racist comments on social media, then defended Italians by saying that it was only in club football? It’s bullshit sorry.

I’m not defending racism within English football, because it happens and I hate it, but I can’t be bothered to hear this shit.

I don’t doubt that English fans in the stadium were cnuts, but that’s 70k out of 67 million. Italian fans booed national anthems of others in this tournament. It’s weird that these things are bought up as a reason to hate England.

If you wanted to be honest and just say it’s because of Brexit, how bad England act politically, or the cnut tourists…that’s fine. That I can get behind.

All I saw is 4 United players vs 0 United players. I'd never understand how anyone can call themselves United fans and support the latter in that case, unless they're Italian.

It turned out to be that winning goal but who knows what would’ve happened even without the pen. I’m not defending Sterling because he was utter tripe tonight and we have better options. Let’s be real, even the very best teams had slices of luck on the way to winning tournaments.

No, you just have the lowest bottom level and naturally people don't want those who did this stuff to cheer. If you don't understand this, I can't help you. Itvs a far better explanation for the antipathy than "meh, everybody just hates England for no reason, they're just so jealous"

No probs, we won the 1986 Iceland Trianglar Tournament and then the 2011 Celtic Nations Cup vs England’s 1997 Tournoi de France. Which was a quality mini tournament in fairness.

It’s close, but we are edging it
 
Maybe the caf could have a feature where you can verify that you have a blue passport and then you have the option to ignore everyone who doesn't.

It's what sport is all about mate. If you can't get caught up in the moment then what are you watching it for. It's been brilliant win or lose.
