Let’s sign Gareth Bale

Zidane about to announce he is leaving Madrid. An early end to the Bale saga then. At least we won't be spending an entire summer chasing a pipe dream now. Goodbye Bale thread. I'm off to get my heart broken again in the Griezmann thread.

I had completely disregarded Bayern as a treat of signing Bale as I assumed if he left Madrid he would want to return to Britain to be closer to his family. Not to mention, if he hasn't managed to learn Spanish in 5 years then I couldn't imagine him mastering the German language.

However, him wanting to avoid the British media circus would be a reason I could imagine Bale considering (not that I know him at all but he does seem a quiet person who likes privacy).

So I am actually starting to believe that he might, in fact, be serious about Bayern. Also considering the comments he made regarding Bayern a few weeks back. Whether Bayern are serious about him is another matter though.

I agree with your post completely but if Zidane goes, I think the whole discussion is going to be moot as he will want to stay in Madrid.

They dont get any in Spain? I find that hard to believe, ah well probably moot now.

Well, to be fair, we've seen the treatment of Sterling, in the past few days -- er, years, sorry. Suffice to say; British gutter press are fecking cnuts of the highest order. Out of sight out of mind and all that. I'm not surprised a fairly private family would want to avoid the cnuts camped outside their front door.

There goes our chances of signing Bale. He'll actually play with Zidane leaving

It was always not in Zidanes choice wether Bale left, more on Perez. If Perez thinks he needs to sale Bale to get another superstar, he will sell Bale.

And realistically Bale is the only highly sellable asset they have. Ronaldo, im not so sure.

Lock thread. Bale will want to see how he gets on with new coach coming in.

Definitely going to give it one more season at Madrid. The new manager will say to president Perez "I won't sign till you confirm Bale stays" or something along those lines. The manager will give reassurances to Bale and might play him every game. You never know, it may be a silver lining and he could be injured for a 1/3 of the games.

Anyway, back to good old Willian:nervous:

Yep, Zidane going could be a game changer

I think so. Bale loves it in Madrid and Spain. He doesn't want to particularly come back to England it seems. Now, with Zidane going, I think he's staying for at least a year to see how much playing time he gets under the new coach.

Bale would have been a top signing.

Time to lock the thread! Any new manager will absolutely want to keep Bale at the club. Bale himself would be happy to stay as he'll get a fresh start.

Well he said he wanted more game time which is clearly a problem for any player but I don;t think the Madrid fans have ever warmed to him, not learning spanish etc. is hardly helping matters.

Fair enough.

Bale - too $$$, too old, injury prone
Wilian - too old, not scoring/assist enough
Mahrez - not Mou type player, doesn't defend, doesn't provide width (he always cut in with his left foot)
Zaha - Not world class?? (he would be my pick)
Thauvin - failed in EPL with newcastle??

I exclude all the up and coming young players as MU already has Rashford and Martial, so i really wonder which player actually qualify to play in the RW for MU that Fans will be happy with(not joking this time).

I like Zaha and his time away has made him into a good solid player.

Was just tongue in cheek! Anyway now that Zidane is gone let's get Pulisic. Can't be letting Klopp get his hands on him.

I know, I was laughing at the fact that PSG are now a sort of boogeyman. "If you don't eat your broccoli, PSG will snatch you."

The new manager is going to have to rebuild which Zidane kindly ducked. So I don’t see why this means Bale is safe.

I don’t understand how he wouldn’t want to come back and try to conquer the PL.

That said, he seems to be an odd ball in that respect.
