Let’s sign Gareth Bale

IF Pochettino is installed as the new RM manager then Bale to Utd is officially dead in the water,in the meantime its better we all just move on,unless Bale happens to genuinely desire to join us then nothing is happening with this anytime soon.

At least the latest intense throb of posts on here only lasted 4 days before Zidane resigning ruined it

Very expensive luxury and a part time or casual player due to injuries.

Let's be honest this was never on. Glad Zidane resigned now; less chance of having to put up with the muppets all Summer.

Wait, do you mean it's not happening because Zidane didn't play him? How does he know that the new manager will? With the amount of posts on here lately, I thought this was almost done.

Why is everyone commenting on this thread. Just let it die a slow death and disappear from the home page.

Given Zidane’s quotes when resigning, it sounds like he had known he would resign at the end of the season whatever happens and you could understand him keeping that quiet til after the Final.

It makes his treatment of Bale interesting though. Shy when asked to back him publicly and according to reports, didn’t speak to him for 3 hours after the final.

It gives you the impression that they just don’t get on particularly well on a personal level as much as a professional level. I think that definitely increases his chances of staying.

It is the most annoying thing in this transfer. He does not want to leave. Rejected us couple of times. And still everybody( fans and media) jumping on this. feck him, hope he will stay and play every 5th match.

If we flog 80% of our transfer budget on him we've officially lost the plot.

Castles is very hit and miss and for some reason his obsession with Jose leads to people believing he has inside info at United.

The rumours on Friday in the Spanish press was that Perez wanted Bale play more hence the disagreements with Zidane. I find that more believable because it's not the first time that I've heard something like that happening at Madrid.

Thought this was going to be a window of limited transfers, by the sounds of it we could sign a LB, RB, CB, 2 x CM, LW, and a CF, and it's needed, hardly ideal at this stage imo.

It would be a far better singing than Sanchez, felt we only ever did that deal on a bit of a whim because he was a big name and the chance came along. But do we need both?

Yes. They play on opposite wings.

Why did you think it would be a window of limited transfers, when we're in desperate need for so many players?

That what was said earlier in the season, a lower 'churn' of players in the coming transfer windows, but here we are virtually needing 5-6 starting players, I'm not disputing we need it, I'm just not so sure this was the plan.

Yes I am aware that you could literally play both. But when you have invested such a crazy amount of money in a 29 year old winger, should you invest even more in another 28 (29 in a month) year old winger?

Also you purchase him knowing that you can only use him for roughly 50% of the season, the rest he will be camped out with Jones in the physio room.

I'm assuming you're referring to wages given we didn't buy Sanchez for any transfer fee?

I spoke of this in another thread, but we offloaded Zlatan and Rooney as mega high earners (both were on 250k+ per week) and only really got Sanchez in for such a wage bracket. I'm assuming there is room for both on this basis.

The likes of say Alderweirald, Fred, Sandro or whomever would be replacing wages of Carrick, Fellaini, Darmien and possibly Blind.

there is nothing to go ahead with, he's staying at real me thinks
I hope you're right. Whoever the new Madrid manager is, I hope he sees Bale as an important part of his plans.

We have so many holes to fill to be spending €100m+ on a player.
Mourinho please see sense.

€100m seems a bit low, thought Madrid would just for more than that. Still not too keen on him though

And yet you would turn down a crucial player for Madrid so we can play Mata / Rashford there?

Look, if bale wants out, which could be the case, then I think we'd have a good chance.
Even if a manager comes in he might already have decided he wants to move on.
If he came here, he would be guaranteed to start once he's fit, like lukaku or matic, and that could sway his thinking.

I'd still give it about 30% chance of happening though, he probably just wants reassurance that he will play more often than not at Madrid.

We do need a left back, so.....
