I'd say so. But saying that I expected a lot of deadwood to be turfed out of OT this season and they're all to a man still there. So quite possibly not. I'd expected at least 2-3 of these to have gone.

Jones
Smalling
Bog Brushhead
Young
Carrick
Lingard
Darmian

Sure they're all still there unless I've missed some news so another transfer in will really bloat the squad without at least one being punted out.

I have a huge concern over our striking and winger situation. What happens of Lukaku is injured? Why don't we have a proper winger in the entire team? These questions must be resolved or we'll not come close to challenging for the Champions League this season.
Radford can play no. 9 and we have ibra back in 3 months or so. Agree it's not as safe as 99 when we had 4 strikers of good quality but we have 2, soon to be 3. Dont recall many times we had more than 3 if honest. Chelsea have 2, city have 2 with a young backup, spurs have 1 and arsenal benched their 50m new boy last weekend. We'll be fine for the season

I think not but on the other hand we signed someone out of nothing in 2 of the last 3 summer transfer windows (Martial and Falcao) and Mourinho is still saying he would want 4th signing so anything is possible.

We're still lacking that player who could provide "magic" in attack.

I can't see it happening unless it's something like Sanchez or Bale suddenly wanting to come here, i.e a unique opportunity. There haven't really been any credible reports of our interest in anyone for ages imo which suggests to me that we stopped looking

I really can't see us buying anyone. I think our squad is just so deep, and to get players in, we need to move out some players. Some the fans would be happy to (Lingard) and others the fans wouldn't (Martial)

Thing is, if we consider 4231 as our best formation this season, our squad is:
De Gea - Romero
Valencia - Darmian (Bailly - Jones)
Bailly - Smalling - Lindelof
Jones - Rojo (Blind)
Blind - Shaw (Darmian - Young)
Matic - Herrera - Carrick
Pogba - Fellaini - Peireira
Rashford - Martial (Young)
Mhki (Mata)
Mata - Lingard (Mhki - Young)
Lukaku - Zlatan (Martial - Rashford)

With how versatile some of our players are, we have more than 2 players for pretty much each position. We can improve definitely, with the likes of Sanchez, Mahrez to name a few of who are available, but we'd need to trim the squad, surely

Looks like the £150m budget reported by the press at the start of the year was correct. So no I don't expect anyone else.

I'll be very surprised if we sign anyone else.

I'll be very surprised if we don't sign anyone else..!
I think we'll be doing some late business this week, I don't think it will be a big name galactico type (Bale, Sanchez) but I wouldn't be totally shocked if we bring in one of Aurier, Sanches, etc this type of lower budget signing.

Ya I think we will get one more too and it could be a surprise.

We're done with the market. Jose said he wanted a 4th player to play as a wing back when we go with 3 at the back, so doesn't seem a very urgent necessity and he probably gives up on the idea when Perisic deal went off.

We'll go with the current squad which is very big anyway. We have 28 first team players atm. The current squad is enough to challenge for the league which is our priority this season.

£150m ain't what it used to be after the Neymar, Coutinho, Dembele and Mbappe craziness.

It would be perfectly fair for Woodward to ask The Glazers to re-evaluate what constitutes an industry leading transfer budget given how the market dynamics have fundamentally changed in just the last 6 months.

But he would probably have to commit to a greater revenue target, winning the PL (as opposed to genuine title challenge), and minimum semi final in CL for another £80m+ incoming.

I agree we have more than enough resources to mount a genuine title charge.

Sanchez, but almost impossible to get him, so no.

We should but I doubt it.

Our spine is really good if they all stay fit, De Gea, Bailly, Pogba, Matic and Lukaku. My worry is our full backs are all average and yes I'm including Valencia. We also have no comfortable wide players, Mata, Micky and Martial all want to come inside and Rashford has the pace but he is clearly not a winger - overall our end product is poor and our set pieces also.

I think we will have plenty of games this season where we are frustrated by a narrow deep lying defence. Hope I am wrong but we could really do with a player like Sanchez for individual magic or a real winger like Perisic to provide better service to Lukaku and Zlatan when he is back.

Wonder if we could go in for Son at Tott?

Levy tax aside, he's been solid for a few seasons now and a Prem proven player. Can play SS and LW as well and wouldnt hurt our budget as Griezmann would. Fairly tall, versatile and in his prime are more of his bonus points

No brainer and would improve our attack or wing massively.

I doubt the press have a clue about our budget and I would imagine our budget is quite fluid given our resources. If a Galactico came available (though not at Neymar fees) we would have the funds to go for it.

We are not signing anyone from Spurs.

^^Agreed^^
Why do we even bother to mention Spurs players?
Levy truly hates United, and will not allow any player to leave for OT.

Go bark up another tree...!

While I do agree to an extent, it does seem correct, hence our lack to go out and get a wide man when are craving out for one.

Haven't we made back about 50m pounds in sales since Jan with Depay, Schneiderlin and Januzaj going. I know we spunked a good amount on Pogba last summer but we have only paid 146m this summer not including potential add ons, that's only 96m spent in 2017. Surely we got a fair bit of funds left.

I hope Ed is still not dreaming of Bale and Ronaldo.

Totally agree. But there have been reports that the Glazers were looking to curb our spending a bit after us going crazy the last few years so that's why I think the £150m budget is correct. Everyone knows that in this market that £150m will only get you so far though so that's something Ed is probably going to have to sit down with the Glazers and talk about for next Summer.

Sanchez would take us to another level, maybe enough to do some damage in the CL. Don't think it's going to happen though.

My thoughts exactly. That's the calibre of signing we need now, not squad players or youngsters. Unfortunately not many of those types are available.

In a world where Everton are spending over £100 million in a summer, maybe the Glazers need to get a bit more realistic.

I honestly think that the explosion in transfer fees may be the straw that breaks the camels back and will lead to the Glazers selling us.

Don't think the Glazers are holding us back, think Jose has specific targets in mind and they are just not achievable...yet.

I'm happy with the squad. A Sanchez would really put us right back up there but Wenger is not going to let him move this year.

Don't think we will but we have a serious lack of attacking options which I think will cost us as the season develops.

We need a left back and a right winger, Mata is not a winger and Blind is not good enough. Hopefully we will get Tierney and Persic/Bale/Sanches or another winger.
