I think we know Jose wants a left sided player who can cross the ball. However, this past week has been the most quiet in relation to any rumours in the transfer market associated with United. I just think we've shut up shop now. Or at least shut up shop in relation to first team players.

Wheres the Eboue option for the poll?

Would be great to see a surprise before the deadline, but the chances are close to none.

We're in for another extremely boring deadline day where the highlights will be Chadli to Swansea and Downing to some Championship club on a free.

And Sky Sports reporters bored off their tits standing outside empty training grounds with not a fan in sight to avoid another dildo-gate.

I'm surprised so many people are saying no.

Mourinho did say he wants a winger, seems reasonable to think that's still the case.

We're looking surprisingly good if as expected Zlatan comes in january. I hope we're spared injuries this year

Since we signed Matic his line has been that he is happy with our transfers and even though he wants a fourth signing (winger) he isn't expecting one.

I hope we sign someone who can actually cross the ball if we are going to make a move. Our height advantage would be wasted if we don't.

We're absolutely crying out for a RW. Mata and Miki have played well up to now but it's frustrating seeing them both come inside and deep for the ball, it reduces our options and makes the play seem lop sided. I'd love to see a quick wide player, although there aren't many knocking around it seems.

Really don't know if this is due to a financial situation, Mourinho having a very short list of alternatives or Woodward refusing to pay top dollar for anyone other than a marketable player (Perisic vs Griezmann for example).

Whatever it is, it is a shame we are not showing more ambition. If we had signed a LW and a couple of fullbacks (or atleast one), we would be set. Valencia is showing signs of decline and our LB spot is still up for grabs.

Hopefully this doesn't come back to haunt us later on in the season.

Griezmann? Is that dead in the water, january or next season?
don't see it being a January deal to be honest. IMO January transfers only work if the player is PL proven and the coach has worked with him before - getting a player in from a different league and playing a different way to what they're used to will take time to adjust and not much point spending £80m or so for that, specially with Ibra back and Mata / Miki playing well in the same place he'd be playing. Not saying i don't want him, but don't think it will happen in Jan

Aurier was there at a bargain of a price but United chose not to get him for whatever reason.

...Mahrez is available for great value as well.

Regarding Aurier I think we are missing out on a player who can be the heir to Tony V, but I don't think we were ever in for him.

Mahrez is a talented winger but is not suited to Jose's gameplay, for me he is amazing for some games and completely invisible in others.

The transfer window is closed for us, don't see us making any purchases in January too.

Next summer lads.

21% chance of us signing a player in the last week based on previous seasons so highly unlikely.

I don't think we're in major need right now.

LW was one area we were looking to address and we now have Martial and Rashford pushing each other for that spot.

LB it seems Jose is willing to give Shaw a final chance. Can't say I disagree with it as in his short peak with us he was better than any of the names suggested. If (and I know it's a big if) we can get him back to that then we are sorted for a good few years in that position.

RB we have plenty of cover if Valencia really does deteriorate (personally I'd play Tuanzabe there in the cup games to bed him in)

RW although most of us would like to see a normal winger or a quicker option I believe we have the right players there for how we want to set up.

There isn't much chance of a full back unless we plan on selling. Do think the Glazers would finance that when we have Valencia, Darmian, Tuanzebe for the right (let alone allowing TFM to go out on loan). Then Shaw, Rojo, Blind, Young for the left.

It's plenty of cover, just depends whether you think those options are good enough.

That's a bit of an odd way to reason, isn't it?

Valencia and Darmian are 'real' right backs at the moment. Tuanzebe is a central defender who could play there, but it is not his natural position.
Same goes for the left. You can see Shaw and Blind as 'real' left backs, but Rojo is a United CB and Young is not a defender at all.

If you reason like that, there is no way we could have been interested in Peresic, as Martial, Rashford, Lingard, Young and Mkhitaryan can all play from the left.

It all is a matter of quality, and there are enough people who believe we lack in quality at LB and little less so RB. Some real competition for Valencia would not be bad either, as his season start is not that fantastic and he is getting older.

I don't understand why people are always craving buying another player and then Moan that the likes of Pereira or Tuanzebe etc. don't get a chance. I'm happy with the squad and I think we have got the balance right ,this bunch seem to be enjoying playing with each other. don't forget Herrera hasn't started a game yet and Zlatan is coming back so plenty of cover and options.

Kind of depressing seeing all those players linked to practically every club in the Premier but us.

Don't think we will add, but United seem too quiet in transfer market, wouldn't be all that surprised if there is something out of the blue the last day of the window. Or maybe it is just wishful thinking.

Knowing Mourinho, no we wont. He doesnt like leaving it this late, it we were going to sign someone else, it would have happened by now :(

We need a new RB more than anything. We can do a lot better than Valencia.

Willing to give Shaw another go at LB and we have enough cover there, but if he doesn't nail down a starting place this year we should look to replace him next summer.

I think we're done for this window though.

Valencia is one of our best players. We aren't looking to replace him.

Ibra will only probably play six months, can't see his contract going beyond that and no guarentees he might be the same before injury. Securing him in Jan after the transfer ban might be a good buffer option and also provide cover for the SS and LW position ad well.

Of course, its as you said, unlikely in jan. Probably next season though.

I have a huge concern over our striking and winger situation. What happens of Lukaku is injured? Why don't we have a proper winger in the entire team? These questions must be resolved or we'll not come close to challenging for the Champions League this season.

I still think Gray could be money well spent. Relative peanuts at the money being talked about for him (£20-25m). He's not the finished article but his potential might be worth that sort of gamble.

He's not at all. He's a decent defender but absolutely useless going forward. We can do much, much better. One of those players who people think is good until they get replaced by someone better, then you realise what you were missing.
