A top quality left fullback would do really well for us. Although Blind has started the season well so hopefully it will not be a problem. I am also not sure we could get in the top quality we would need this late anyway.

Well? He's been our worst player by a country mile.. Not to say he's been that bad but that's more of a compliment to the rest of the team at this stage. He and Valencia are really hampering our wing play which wouldn't be as much of a problem if at least one of them could cross a ball. Mata being stuck out wide, which has never really worked; isn't helping either.
And our wing play was absolute shite. That problem hasn't been addressed whatsoever and has been our biggest weakness in the last 3 games. We haven't got a single winger or full back who can cross the ball which is why I am really hoping that there is some truth in the Mahrez rumours. Seriously, our crossing is not just bad. It's abysmal and has been for 4 seasons now
. I mean, with the height of the players in the squad, there is no excuse for how bad it has been in the last 3 games. We have Pogba, Lukaku and Matic all waiting to attack a ball which never comes anywhere near them. At least our set pieces have improved.Apart from that, there isn't much to worry about though IMO. We will still challenge either way but a player like Mahrez/perisic/sanchez would be ideal and make me a lot more confident going into the season.
So most likely scenario - mahrez off to Arsenal, Sanchez to City, Lemar to Liverpool. Guessing we'll stay quiet, not sure that's a good idea though.

I think that's about right, I change my earlier position, I don't think there will be any activity from us today, other than maybe one or two youngsters going out on loan.
Love a bit of deadline day drama. Even if it were an obscure unkown, I'd still love it to happen just to feel part of the mania.

'Wing Play' isn't a cornerstone of a Mourinho system. He is a classical manager that focuses on the spine of the team and uses wide players to provide balance.
A winger is a cherry on top, which we'll probably need to go the next level and challenge for the CL. But to win the PL, we have enough fire power so long as Martial/Rashford and Mkhitaryan are firing.
If we had a player in the mold of Di Maria under Mourinho then we would have the title wrapped up already. But Perisic is a level below that, and Bale is unavailable.
It's a bit of a disappointing end to the window, I do think we needed some else. Mahrez is on the move, Spurs in for Aurier, City signing Alexis Texas, Liverpool still in for players. Wish we were in the mix as most of the players going to those clubs would improve us.

I think we all know that we have a weakness at LB, and we lack a #7, both of which remain unaddressed.
Competition at RB would have been shrewd too.
The signings of Matic & Lukaku seem to be fantastic business, but I can't help but feel that we should have been a lot more active this window than we have been.
There have been some excellent players transferred this window, in those positions that we are lacking, yet we've apparently not had any interest in them...
The only MUFC news coming through today is that Lukaku is designing a new mascot for the Belgian team...?!?!?
