Been with us since he was 18, technically he is.

Seems like everyone is having a moan that Mata is not in the starting 11. And if he was playing at the expense of RVP, Rooney or Falcao the same people would still have a moan. Just enjoy the game you miserable souls
Why? Blackett's definitely shown enough to merit it.
Front 3 just seems too static and we are even more reliant on Di Maria for creativity now.
But he wasn't someone our academy developed. Everton developed him.Been with us since he was 18, technically he is.
Di Maria and Rafael being subbed slowed us down majorly.I do agree that we looked slower and not as threatening when mata was subbed last game... but wasn't Di Maria subbed for Januzaj straight after? and maybe that was the reason it slowed down..
Maybe, they think Leicester are too physical for Mata?No Mata?
RvP has definitely not been in good form, but he hasn't been fully fit and it's difficult to expect a striker to just be in great form right off the button. The best way to get a striker back to their best ways is to keep playing them. It may not be ideal because Mata probably doesn't deserve to get dropped in order to let RvP get back to those ways, but we're talking about one of the world's greatest strikers here. Not great that Mata was dropped with the awful form RVP is in. Send bad signals about whether good play is rewarded, or bad play punished.
Rooney isn't our youth product.Rooney, Rafael, Blackett. That's 3 + 2 on the bench.
Steady on. Its only one game.
Not always starting doesn't mean the end of anything, stop over reacting
When Rooney starts his usual miscontrolling of the ball, people will be crying out for Mata.
You have never watched Falcao have you? He is anything but static

I don't think it's the sin/travesty everyone else does that Mata's being dropped. LvG wants to try to get RvP back to his best. If he succeeds in doing that, we'll be flying. If he doesn't, he won't keep playing him forever.
Rooney: "I'm not the same player as i was when i was younger, I ran too much back then"
Exactly.Exactly. People are over-reacting to this drop. if RvP doesn't perform then he'll be dropped. Big deal!
What did he say?
When taken in context it actually makes perfect sense.Rooney: "I'm not the same player as i was when i was younger, I ran too much back then"
