Lassana Diarra

Would be a great signing for them, especially if they can keep hold of Modric. A Diarra / Modric midfield combo sounds great.

Huddlestone won't be dropped any time soon.

They are trying to sell Palacios (Napoli) and maybe Sandro (many offers Inter, Roma...)

They're getting rid of Sandro? He looked quality torwards the end of the season, started off a bit shit but once he adjusted he was one of their standouts. Would be stupid to sell him.

I don't know, they received many offers for Sandro and if they spend 20 million on Diarra, I think he could leave.

Real Madrid will accept no less than £17.5m for Manchester United and Tottenham target Lassana Diarra.

The France midfielder, who has had spells at Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth in the past, has been linked with a move back to English football after struggling to cement a place in Jose Mourinho's first team.

Juventus and Fenerbahce are also understood to be keen on doing a deal and it was reported that the Turkish side have already bid £11m for the 26-year-old.

But, according to reports in Spain, Madrid have now told any potential suitors they will only listen to offers of £17.5m or more, and they will then use the funds to finally complete the protracted deal for Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Madrid reject. I think he'd be happier as a big fish in a small pond.

I thought he looked a good player at Pompey, haven't seen him since joining Real.

I think he would be a great signing. Just what we need too.

But for that kind of cash and the fact he cannot live with rotation makes it a tricky one.

But at least it is a player who we realistically could go after

I've kept goin on about this lad & that we should buy him. He's definitely in the Makelele mould - great ball-winner & strong on the ball aswell. He's exactly what we need & i dont think he'd kick up a fuss being rotated with us - if the stories are true, Fergies great at keepin players happy, apart from PIG of course!

I will be extremely depressed if we ever sign Lassana Diarra. The goal is to outplay the opposition with technical and disciplined midfielders. Diarra has neither of these qualities, and he is never welcome at United.

Kick up a fuss? He's played for 4 clubs in 5 years due to that exact reason...

Have they found him yet? There were reports of him gone missing from the Real camp. Seems like a rather unstable and unreliable character.

Yeah thanks for that pic RHD. easy enough to explain to the boss.

Nah it's okay. I'll just avoid admitting I'm browsing the caf by saying I was looking at gay porn.

He'd be a good signing for us but for that kind of cash I'd rather we went for Martinez.

Left out of Real Madrid's squad on their North American tour. On the market, apparently.

We absolutely don't need him. If we need a good defensive midfielder, we should be looking at younger, better players.

Think he'd be a good signing for us - we've seen in the past that Madrid are willing to let good players go for decent prices, so I think he'd be worth a look.

Getting Sneijder or Nasri with another decent squad midfielder (like Diarra) would make me beyond happy with the squad.

Like who? I think we have a lot of youth in the squad and a few older experienced players would be helpful.

Could be a good signing for United. A midfield destroyer would be useful, has plenty of experience and Real are probably desperate to sell for a decent price.

Heard a lot about his attitude which could be an issue - but largely seems that he's just desperate to play.

Fergie seems to shuffle the pack well and keep players happy so it could work.

Indeed - would add versatility in terms of formations which could be deployed, especially in Europe where mosst top sides have a Diarra typ player.

I agree with this
