Lassana Diarra

The Spanish TV and press are reporting it, but as no one has him saying anything it's hard to know if it's significant or not - except that in Real(ity Show) Madrid every gesture is reported as soap opera.

I guess it depends on the circumstances. Leaving two minutes early to avoid the crowd is naughty but probably just gets him a smack on the wrist. Leaving because he's angry and wants to make a point is different.

This has always been a problem with him.More than his footballing ability it's his temperament the biggest problem. He thinks he's too good to be substituted or to be on the bench.
Can't say anything against Mourinho the way Madrid dominated the 2nd half

Lassana Diarra's future at Real Madrid is again in doubt.

With talk of Diarra being unsettled by interest from Manchester United, the France international faces being fined this week.

El Mundo Deportivo says Diarra will be hit by Real management for leaving the team's dressing room two minutes before the end of the match against Villarreal on Sunday at the Bernabeu.

Diarra had been hooked at halftime of the vital victory.

The midfielder is said to still be determined to leave Madrid this month.

He's either very sure that someone wants him or he could be left in limbo

Wow, with that kind of attitude, do we really want this kid?
Could cause problems within our dressing room.

I think the difference is that in our dressing room nobody would stand for it and he'd be all alone with any whinging. He'll do what most players do what they come to Old Trafford, become a better person because he isn't pampered like a pet.

Playing at United would make him give up those negative traits. You don't cross the boss!

Yes, I am quoting myself and I am aware of how sad that is.

Mourinho dropped him from the squad for the match against Almeria and he's dropped again for the cup match tomorrow against Atletico. I think it's safe to say that Mourinho has not been impressed by Lass recently.

Incidentally, the other Diarra has scarcely been seen since Christmas - family problems. Free to anyone who'll cover his wages, I reckon.

The other Diarra will be free in the summer anyway.

I remember we were heavily linked just before he went to Madrid. Not that I'd be interested if I was Ferguson at this point.

Yes, but you can have him now if you'll cover his costs...

M.Diarra's hardly played (except as sub) for the last 2 and a half seasons. I'd guess he'll look for a retirement job, with whoever's got the cash, maybe Malaga if they can't find anyone else (like Lass!)

I will like to retract on everything I have said about LASS in the past. By god he is an awful player, absolutely terrible. Runs around, kicks people, commits silly fouls etc. The man is a walking red card

Yep, this season he is totally having a total shocker, Khedira has been a lot more consistent and Lass deserves losing his place.

I don't want this lad any more... ( Being all emotional ).

He wants out.Offered a new deal but wants to play somewhere else apparently.

Would be a useful player for us. Would add some bite into midfield & Madrid usually allows players to go on the cheap. Would be a sound addition for anything under £15m IMO.

Not sure about his mentality though. Seems to bitch alot when he is benched.

There is space in the squad for a player of his ilk.

Never understood the hype about him to be honest, everytime I've seen him play he's been very very average - and unsettles me that Chelski and Arsenal were ok to let him go so easily.

Good player, but he changed too many clubs, there's something wrong with him

I would sign him only for free, or on loan.

If we are looking to bring in an all action athletic DM I hope it's M'Vila, he's 6 years younger, a regular in the French side and he's on record as saying United are his dream club.

I used to rate him but he seems to have regressed. His passing was shockingly inconsistent last season.

That would be powerful signing.

He's entering the biggest stage with solid progress.

Yann M'Vila signed a contract extension just a few weeks ago to keep him at Renne till 2015. It's unlikely he will move this summer though stranger things have happened in football.

How old is he now? Could be very useful for us if we don't get a Rodwell.

He could be useful, but I'm pretty sure it's the sort of player Fergie would consider to be 'damaged goods'.

Bafflingly inconsistent player - which you ignore in an 18 year old winger but is hard to understand in a 26 year old defensive midflelder.

I've seen in him turn in MOTM performances for Madrid; I've also seem him look out of his depth against average opposition. Throw in the question marks over his temperament and his health issues (he's diagnosed with sickle cell anaemia) which always seemed to flare up when Madrid needed him, I dunno.

If he was cheap and we had room in the 25, I'd buy him without a second's thought.

Apparently he was at Madrid's last training session on the 20th May, but not their last game on the 21st. He told the squad he was leaving, despite Mourinho saying that he wanted him to stay, and they haven't heard from him since.

According to AS, Madrid would like to talk to him about his future, but haven't been able to contact him. They reckon Madrid will be trying to get 15m Euros - but first they need to get his phone number.

Yes indeed, they're talking telephone numbers for Lass :smirk:

Tottenham sure seem to be spending the cash lately. I guess they know they can always cash in on Modric or Bale if things get tight.
