Lazio goal in 2000 and game against Roma the same season. That's all I found about him. I didn't read about any criticism of the sort in his first season where he conceded 20 goals, 1 more than Arrigo Sacchi's Milan's best season defensively.

He didn't win anything worth of note during those two seasons and having in mind Juve seasons before that and how successful they were they were looking for a scrapegoat. There was no team during those 2 seasons conceding as few as Juve with VDS on goal, compare that to the season before when they conceded 39 in the league.

I won't argue that his level was the peak one we saw at United but that peak level is certainly only rivaled by Kahn (Kahn is the better keeper overall just to mention that here) in this pool.

I think his level was close to his best and in his first season especially when he conceded 17 goals from open play(3 penalties) which is one every other game. I don't think there is comparable record for other keepers in the pool above?

And if someone suggests it's due to Juve's defense, what about shipping 39 with the same defense year before?

VdS was also the first non Italian GK at Juve so naturally his every action would be scrutinized.

Good pick. I was hoping to have him as an option for my pick, now i've got a major choice to make.
 
Around 24 years ago, Paul Gascoigne transfered to Lazio and the UK decided to take in intrest in Serie A. Channel 4 had a weekly program dedicated to the big sunday game and another program for selected highlights from other matches. There were many players that became my favourites, players such as Rui Costa, Gullit, Maldini and Baggio to name a few.

The player I Choose for my 12th pick was a mainstay of the Parma side of the 90's, as some of you know, I like players who are versatile and this player was from that catagory. A hard yet clean tackler, he also possessed good tecnique when on the ball. One of my favourite players from my childhood, i've been wanting to drfat him no matter what.

Sensini deserved to be picked :). One of those quietly excellent Serie A defenders who seemed to be around forever, and part of one of the great defensive units alongside Buffon/Thuram/Cannavaro.
