La Liga 2024/25

Barca vs Atletico next Saturday will be a classic. Atletico could make a big statement win. Barca have been very ordinary recently, need a bounce back win
Atleti are traditionally a bit meh vs Barca but I think they'll get the win this time. Barca look tired and a fair bit rubbish in Liga off late.

Leganes had zero away wins before tonight. Barca are incredibly poor these days.

By these days, I don't mean the season. Its the last two months where they have, more often than not, been very poor.
Yeah the injuries didn’t help the cohesion they had built, I’m sure it’ll return.

Being in a dead heat after the questionable football quality on display this first half of the season, i'll take that.

To be fair, its more to do with fatigue than injuries, imo. They had injuries (probably even more of them) in the earlier months where they were still sensational. In the last two months, they've only really had Yamal (even though he's their most important player) missing some games. Their defense has become even easier to play through and they just don't seem as clinical as they were earlier. They really should have scored 4-5 goals today.

Atleti could win the title if they can keep grinding out these wins. Always feel they're a huge loss away from crumbling though

It'll be Madrid ultimately. Their experience will see them through.

Atletico just have a knack of bending over for Barca even when Barca is in poor form.

I'd agree with this but this season, Barca seem to show up in bigger games more than the so called easy ones on paper so I'm not sure how it'll go.

What they did to Madrid in the bernabeu is arguably the performance of any team in Europe this season. Like anyone else they struggle against the low block, but I feel like they will bring it around. Hopefully they do, because in full flow its a joy to watch.

He was sacked after the end of the season. And please, we're 1 point off top in the league and the CL should be fine now. This isn't nearly as bad as you make it out. Win the next 2 games and we turn at 43 points - pace of 86 over the season, which is hardly this catastrophe
Just saying, things can go very quick. Couple losses and Perez might decide things need to change now.

The way we’re playing is a catastrophe for sure. Just awful.

Yeah expect Barca to spank them.

Regression to the mean at the back - earlier in the season they were getting away with murder with that high line and Mbappé has blood on his shoes for the clasico - plus finishing turning erratic

They had 3 genuinely bad performances away at Anoeta, Balaidos and Villamarín, but their home defeats were of the "shot their own dick off" variety. Also a bit of bad luck

So, what do we expect from today's match?

Atletico looks in better form than Barcelona, but they seem to have a mental block against them, i'd be surprised if Barca doesn't win.

Barca seem to do well against the top clubs this season and given Atleti's match up vs Barca, I'd not expect them to win. But, no Yamal and Barca's form has fallen off a cliff so, you never really know.

Watching the first 11 mins, the cliff is something else :D Barcelona doesn't let them have even 3 touches.

I love watching Pedri. Might be in the minority but for me he’s the best central midfielder in the world. He’s what I hope Mainoo will turn into in few years

I expected Atletico to lay down for Barca and they are doing exactly what I expected. Cholo will play Real Madrid like a lion but Barcelona like a timid cat.

I’m watching here in the states and there was a graphic on the ESPN broadcast that showed Cholo has only beaten Barca twice in the league in 26 matches and have never won away from home.

Athletic club having really good season again.

They are. Valverde is a great coach and I hope they can win EL and secure UCL football through a Top4 finish.

I’m glad they won the Copa last year, too

It's quite incredible Barca will end up with one goal from the last two matches. Complete and utter domination and chance after chance missed.
