Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid watch

Many of Ronaldo's antics were/are equally cringerworthy. I can accept some of that from an elite player.

He's one player I'd absolutely love to see wearing United colours. Would have made us title contenders (with one or two more reinforcement).

Obviously speaking from RM's perspective, but anyway, there is a difference, Ronaldo actually wanted to play here, and RM was in a bad spot.
Mbappe has rejected us for years, and we are doing just fine without him, thanks.

So, accepting the first one's antics is a bit easier, taking all things into consideration.

Yup, Ronaldo wanted to play here and had proven a lot more than Mbappe when he joined us whereas with Mbappe he is joining a team that has won the League and CL without him.

I'm only basing this on very superficial knowledge but I'd assume from Mbappe's perspective, he's had the pressure of two countries on his shoulders telling/pressuring him not to leave.

I get why RM may feel slighted but I doubt it was a 'personal' decision of his to 'reject' or delay his move. I'm not feeling sorry for him as I'm sure he's got a couple hundred million reasons to comfort himself but now that he's at your club, surely he's as committed as any other player? From all accounts, he really does love your club.

Once he scores a goal, I'm sure he'll be one of your own anyways.

That’s like Bellingham coming out against Farage! Just wouldn’t happen. Good for Mbappe.

I think that's very good of him. The only downside is that he talks about his values and has let Qatar shower him with money. Nevertheless, I am a fan of his statement.

This translation feels a lot more impactful than what was actually said. He straight up refused to utter the words RN or name actual people. All things considered it was a pretty tame statement compared to Thuram's a day before.

The best part was "we hope to still be proud to wear this shirt on July 7th" though.

Didn't watch the game, saw some pics from that challenge, looks pretty bad. Will he miss matches because of it?

Will be interesting to see how ancelotti incorporates both Vinicus and Mbappe without both of them getting in each others way.

As for tonight, petulant walking back onto the pitch to stop the game. Personally I thought it would have been hilarious if the ref gave him a red card.

100% broken nose. No idea what it means for the rest of the competition but I imagine he'll have to get it fixed through surgery as it looked badly deviated, and you can't reasonably be fit for high intensity sports in the following days. We'll know soon enough.

So he won’t have surgery but they haven’t yet decided how they’ll deal with his injury. He should have had a couple of goals today too, can’t believe he didn’t even hit the target with that second effort!

His nose was on the far right.

Apart from that, this is the Mbappe of the champions league knockout rounds, clearly not at his best physically and he won't be until the start of next season after a proper pre-season.

Parisian French is generally rhotic, as is standard or general American English. By contrast, British English is generally nonrhotic, so British people tend to hear rhoticity in contrast to their own accents.
Huh. Well I’m Scottish and my accent is rhotic so that’s a bit weird.

Did he break his nose going for a header from the free kick he won by faking a facial injury after he overran the ball? Seems a bit ironic to me.

His nose hit on the defenders shoulder. Unlucky.

The facemask he ends up wearing will launch a thousand TMNT memes

Glad to hear him speak out and hope he heals up in time to take part in the remaining games. Brutal collision that.

Good on him speaking out about voting. Good on the whole french squad really

Now if he doesn't wear a purple mask...

unfortunately his nose is just the opening riposte of qatar’s vengeance.

Agreed, it is important. Thuram's dad has always been vocal so I'm sure he has had an influence on his son, who has in turn influenced Mbappe and the team.
