Will sign before Monday according to Lipton.

Incredible business from PsG.

Doing things in the market others can only dream of.

Buying 2 of the best talents in the world.

No fecking around. Incredible.

I don't think Woody will ever make that statement again.

I also can't see how we are ever going to sign top tier talent. We had a few years when we would pay top fees and had actually low competition for players, but only managed to get in Pogba and possibly Di Maria in that time that would fit that bill.

Now the prices quoted would not be sanctioned by our board/owners.

Asking for that much money as an 18 year old kid with 6 months of good form is absolutely embarrassing. Not certain he won't flop massively in the long run.
That's what I'm thinking. Probably the influence of his agent. However, a kid having that much this soon is quite worrying. I hope his parents keep him as grounded as they can.

So in the end it came down to who could pay him the most? Smdh

Onda cero is a credible source so who knows. Madrid offered 6+1 M€ net which is already too much (imo).

Having said that, I think he's agreat talent and I just can't picture him a flop.

I could be wrong, but I thought relatives were his representatives.

They can see the £££££ signs. A return to Paris probably suits them.

Surely not? PSG aren't actually going to get him, are they? Fecking hell..
If they are, congrats to them. It would be a hammerblow

The only thing that remains to be seen is if they can comply with FFP. Didn't Al Khelaifi mention Neymar has a release clause?

Well I hope for his sake he doesn't flop. However, I'm way too old fashioned as I don't believe the kid should be demanding this much money. I hope he understands that with this fee and wages, a lot will be expected of him. If he has a 'second season' syndrome as young players tend to do, it could get brutal.

Anyway, wish him luck.

Oh I didn't realise his family were in charge.... makes it even worse imho

Sure they're going to sell bunch of players now if they get Mbappe now, right ? I mean I can't see anymore future for the kinds of Moura or Draxler, hell even Di Maria may have troubles now and can be sold.

That's just insane.

It seems like this is going through but I just can't see it happening. PSG don't even actually need him, they'd be a lot better getting Fabinho and a defender. Monaco will make it as hard as possible for PSG to get him too.

I still think he'll end up in Madrid

'Congratulations and good luck in the future. We're signing a seemingly unknown Brazilian 16 year old kid for zilion sheckles ourselves, feck you.'
Ethics got nothing to do with it. We can't match that offer to Mbappé because he's an 18 year old with all of one pro season under his belt and we can't make him the third highest paid player on the team. Eapecially on a team with Cris, Benzema and Bale in his position.

Ultimately, we decided we like having bale, isco and asensio more than having mbappé

Poor Gonçalo Guedes... he cost 30 million euros and he's actually a very good talent but if Mbappe goes there I don't think he'll get a single minute for the whole season

It's insane

Butthurt spin. No surprise.

Butthurt because the club that won 3 CL's in last 4 years is not willing to make an 18 year old the second (or third, not sure) highest paid player on the team? Are you serious or just happy that mean old Real Madrid didn't get their new shiny toy?

Transfer fee and wages = apple and oranges, but you know that already.

I actually don't know what to think, someone inside Monaco said that they didn't received any offer. according to Nice-Matin and RMC. Curious to see how this one ends.

And I think you will end up just fine without him. I actually think Asensio is one of the best talents I have seen coming from Madrid for years and without the hype, can become as good as Mbappe

Where are you getting this crap??
He said it himself in the press conference unavailing Neymar. Bought the club for a 100 mil, last valued at over 1 bil, then with Neymar signing he estimates 1.5bil. Fair enough the Mbappe stuff is just that dude repeating what some papers have said. That again that signing will add 500mil to the value of the club. I don't think that figure would be true but it's probably not far off depending on how Mbappe develops.

Khelafi was probably misinterpreted, It's illegal to have release clauses in France.

Mbappe could choose any club in the word. If he chooses PSG I hope he fails miserably.

I just don't blame us for not paying these sort of prices though, it's stupid money. It makes the whole sport look comical and daft.

Come on we paid £90m for Pogba and £75m+ add on for Lukaku. Difference is PSG have bought the 3rd best player in the world and the most promising youngster in the world. We have two good players.

If Madrid don't get Mbappe who will they sign as back up striker? Is Mayoral good enough?

It's illegal in the sense that the LFP/French law(not sure which) doesn't recognize them. Nothing preventing player and club on agreeing to one anyways

He was joking about Neymar increasing the value of the club.

Imagine being a Monaco fan right now. Won the league in style and your team gets gutted. Your biggest rivals sign one of the top talents in the world and look like they're about to sign one of your own best players.

Hard to see how PSG balance the books after this. Even their players who look like they'll be expendable won't fetch much. Lucas, possibly Cavani or Di Maria,

No one. And no

Won't matter anyways barring long term injuries

That said, these sagas are starting to irk me. We need to get involved in one too. Too bad it's too late for Dybala...

They'll just get a couple more dodgy sponsorship deals for ridiculous money and UEFA will once again turn a blind eye.

It's not even that I disagree with not buying him from your perspective, it's the deflective spin tactics that Zoo already mentioned, it's a hilarious watch. You've done that previously, even with Pogba iirc. You, as in RM and the media that's 6 feet deep their ass.

Madrid haven't decided they like Bale etc more, they've just been yet again out muscled in the transfer market.
They're going to have to bite the bullet soon and just go all out for a star again

Don't think he was because obviously Neymar has increased the value of the club. He's arguably the most marketable footballer on the planet. Nikes new golden boy. So it's not really that far fetched.

I think the fact they've had an impact on Barca will force UEFAs hand a bit more. Barca will push for disciplinary action.

Yeah, Real and Barca have the influence I think to persuade UEFA in taking more legal action if they feel PSG is seriously threatening their pull.

Are they seriously paying €200m for him? Football has become a playground for billionaires.

Not signing Mbappe or any other CF will surely give more minutes to Asensio, but we sold James and Morata and two of them scored 31 goals last season. We replaced them with CM's and that shows a clear shift in balance of the team. A lot of fans think another goal scorer is needed.
