Kylian Mbappé also says that the 2018 World Cup will not be a factor in his decision-making process vis-à-vis his future.
Kylian Mbappé: "The name Kylian Mbappé is talked about quite a lot these days. That doesn't bother me or my family or my club."
Kylian Mbappé: "If I move club my brother will come with me to that club."
Kylian Mbappé: "I am at an age where I need to be playing constantly. To perform well you need to be playing."
Kylian Mbappé: "That's of huge importance in my choice. The other thing is to keep the family together - we're all fed up of being apart."
Kylian Mbappé: "This was the year of my discovery. For me, next year I must confirm myself - that's the most important step."
Kylian Mbappé: "I want to complete this step well, in a measured way, in the right conditions."
Kylian Mbappé: "I am the sole decider of my future. Me and my family. Nobody will tell me where to go. It will be my choice."
Kylian Mbappé: "In terms of football, I might be ahead for my age. But in terms of life, I'm still a kid at 18 years old."
Kylian Mbappé: "My biggest fault is that I don't have a drivers licence."
Kylian Mbappé: "How do I get to training? My mum drives me. Or Amir, the club chauffeur."
Kylian Mbappé: "The word footballer does not rhyme with Ferrari. Not having a car is not a big deal. You just adapt to it."

What a great attitude the lad has. He definitely is the real deal.

Good, we have enough muppet action to chase after this summer without going for him too, lets save him for next summer

Sounds like a down to earth and sensible lad. That'll give him every chance of becoming a great player. It's always a shame when a talented youngster is ruined by being a bellend e.g. Januzaj and Ravel Morrison

His little brother will be a hot commodity, he's very young. I bet City will try to throw money at him soon enough.

I'm not a fan of a club having to sign a players relative when signing a player.
Players should be bought on their own merit.

His brother won't be bought, he is free to sign for anyone.

Ah come on now, you could see the talent was there from day one. Yes he was ineffective and overdid the tricks but it was obvious that once he was experienced enough to master when to use them he would become phenomenal.

He could become phenomenal, which he did. For every Cristiano, there is a Nani/Quaresma/Denilson/Robinho/Ben Arfa story out there. Cristiano was not a smart player during his early career, and that's something that all the talent in the world can't help over time. He managed to hone in and become an all-time great. But I've seen many player that were like he was from ages 17-22, there was no real indication he would necessarily rival Messi in this era. That's all the credit to his hard work perfecting his game.

So can you agree with me that Delle Alli deserve to be considered in the same ceiling as Mbappe? He's output is exceptional for his age.

Maybe I'm talking to a bunch of youngster as I was 15 when I seen Ronaldo and probably more blind faith invisioned the player he later became. I don't need reminding how inconsistent he was, but the talent was there to be seen. We can list a bunch of talented faliures it proves nothing. At the end of the day we will see, I just don't see the hype I'm affriad, couldn't careless if we mess out on him too. Happy with Rashford.

Well then I'm older than you, and my memory is pretty good. You said it yourself, it was blind faith, because of all the names I've mentioned of previous failures that showed as much as Cristiano did until the age of 21-22. There's no way you could have envisioned he would turn into a guy who'd score 60+ goals in a season once because no one had done that in decades, so he even exceeded whatever expectations you may have had. But when an 18 years old blows away what Cristiano did up until age 22, I think it's worth paying attention to, especially when the striker position becomes an issue. With yesterday's news, I see Griezmann is likely to come and he was the only name I'd prefer over Mbappe at this time of possible players that can be gotten this summer so I'd rather see the kid confirm at Monaco or elsewhere. If you can't see the hype, you're not realizing how difficult it is to be that complete at 18 years old as a striker, knowing he is nowhere near the finished product.

And I do agree Delle Alli should be considered one of the top talents out there, but he hasn't shown much in the CL yet; I'd like to see him show up next season to take another step forward. I think he's a brilliant young player that can go as far as he wants. Again, these are all very young players that will get MUCH better because I think Alli and Mbappe are absolute professionals and will constantly progress barring injuries.

He's Kylian with dreadlocks.

Still drivel to be honest.. all this blowing Cristiano out this water etc. We will see where he is in a year or two's time. You just named a bunch of talented players at young ages. You want to see incredible talent for 18 YouTube Ronaldo Luiz, Michael Owen or Wayne Rooney at 18. Cisse looked pretty complete at 18/19 too in the French league. He's not showing nothing unforeseen for his age other than scoring a lot of goals. Rather Morata lead our line next season than Mbappe. No disrespect to him but let him work on his talent. We don't need him competing with Rashford and he definitely should stay away from Madrid they will ruin him.

It probably is in his personal interest to play for another season at Monaco, but I hope we are there ready when he does leave.

Monaco might not get another world record fee if he doesn't keep the goalscoring ratio up though, that's their only issue.

I am a firm believer already though, I think he will go on and become even better next year.

Please stay and prove you're not going to have second-season syndrome.

Bump.

Di Marzio claims Mbappe is our top target and not Griezmann. Also the only player we have made a bid for so far. Think we are waiting to see if we win this race for him before making other signings as our budget will depend a lot on it. Think we stand a good chance too after Ibra's injury.

Mbappe even went over the whole Martial situation during a press conference for the French National Team. Basically said that the situation is nothing Mbappe is concerned about. Claimed Martial had a great first season and is struggling now but will come back stronger and his story does not scare Mbappe from making a move abroad as everyone has a different story.

I'm such a big fan of the kid, between him and Ousmane Dembele, I would throw all my savings at them to join, but I'm not sure it would mean immediate success with the language, league, and culture adaptation.

I am really torn on this one. He is a great player and injuries permitting will end up being one of the best strikers in the world. But he is a big madrid fan, if we sign him and he works out well we will have the same circus as with ronaldo and this is a comparatively smaller issue, the big problem i have with this signing is he is 18 in his second season. If we had a team of superstars this is a risk worth taking but as the guy who we bet everything on, not so much.

I really don't get the Griezmann behind mbappe and morata thing either, surely any sane man will tell you it should be the other way around.

By the sounds of it we would have to bid 120m euros to sign the guy or is it pounds, either way it is a mammoth fee and I think we are out of the race for this one.

He wants Madrid. He's a big enough name for them to want him. This is likely a pipe dream and honestly hope we aren't going to lose other transfers over this. (similar to Moyes' pipe dream of Fabregas)

Mbappe and Gabriel Jesus are going to be the next two elite strikers to follow in the footsteps of Suarez and Lewandowski IMO, I'd love it if we got him.

I don't think the financial aspect would put us off, Woody loves measuring his money penis against other clubs.

Can you elaborate on this please? Why would any sane man want it the other way around?
EDIT: shite, I thought you meant in terms of playing positions  apologies!

I hope Real get him this summer for 120mill or whatever it is, don't get me wrong I'd love him here but I don't think we'd be his ideal destination this window.
Mainly I like the idea of Real forking out over 100mill on one transfer, thus making it far less likely they'll want to spend an aditional 50-65mill on a GK in the same window (DDG). Net win for us.

I just don't think its wise to spend that much on such a young prospect after only one season.

It's risky I agree, but I don't think that would be the reason we'd opt out, it would be because he gives us a clear message that he isn't interested.

For Mbappe's own sake, he should stay at a Monaco for another 1-2 years, developing in a relatively safe environment without too much pressure, as a big fish in a medium size pond and starting every game when fit.

For Utd's sake: would it really be wise to spend £100m on an 18 year old? A lot can happen. There's no guarantee that he'll be a top 3 striker in the world a few years from now, is there? The pressure of being the world's most expensive player would be difficult for anyone to handle, never mind a teenager.

For 100M+ he better be Ronaldo and Messi genetic fusion.

He has alot of potential but he is terribly overpriced. Don't want him here for that price, way too risky.
Good old days where we got Ronaldo for 19M.

Other people's grass is always greener.

Seems like that really does apply here.

Problem is, we see Rashford play, every minute he is on the pitch, game in, game out. The other 2 we only ever watch them on highlights, whenever they have done something good, on the odd occasion.

For some, all our players are always inferior to other teams players.

Any evidence? A story in Marca is no evidence.

Of course he would be very keen to move to United.
