His idol is Ronaldo yes? Surely he would know that Ronaldo became the player he is today because of his six years of development at the Theater of Dreams. Considering his age he may only remember watching him play for Madrid, but if we wants to truly emulate Ronaldo, sign for United. Madrid can wait in 12-15 years.

Under a manger, that unfortunately, no longer manages United.

Seems like that really does apply here.

Problem is, we see Rashford play, every minute he is on the pitch, game in, game out. The other 2 we only ever watch them on highlights, whenever they have done something good, on the odd occasion.

For some, all our players are always inferior to other teams players.

That's not true in this day and age, Monaco are on BT sport nearly every weekend and their CL games were all on TV as well, I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one that watched them and Dortmund most weekends just to enjoy the football, the 2 best attacking sides in Europe after Real Madrid, to watch IMO.

Mbappe has had a similar start to his first team career as did Rashford and Martial (at United). Mbappe has had a full season and I can see why people may say he will be better than Rashford etc etc. (I'm personally a big fan of Mbappe but just waiting for the 'second season' syndrome).

But...Gabriel Jesus, he has played all of what, 8-10 games for City? And you can already say he will be better than Rashford? Don't understand it...

With Mbappe there is an x factor, and he's did it in big CL games as well, maybe he will have a tough second season, we shall see.

Gabriel Jesus also played for Brazil in the Olympics and some of his Palmeiras games were on BT sport.

I don't think that matters in this case. As a club we're known to develop younger players. Jose's track record may say otherwise but if he's really willing to spend 100m plus on an 18 year old, clearly he thinks he's a unique talent.

Also Jose has a pedigree among players. Just like some players would be excited at the prospect of working under Sir Alex (Ronaldo in 2003), other players would feel the same about Mourinho considering his success.

But formations of a team play a MASSIVE factor. Mbappe has been playing part of a front two. Since Jose has taken over, we haven't. Arguably we did against Chelsea, where we saw the bast of Rashford.

Also, Mbappe always had the luxury of the opposition defenders been as afraid, if not more, of his striking partner, Falco. Which in return means more free space for Mbappe to play in.

Anyhow, I would love Mbappe here, I'm just not of the same opinion as you, that Mbappe and certainly GJ, is better than Rashford.

He just posted this on Twitter

Fair enough mate, I am going off what I have seen of the individual qualities of each player, their skillsets, but feel free to drag my posts back up in a few years time should things go a different way. :D

Perhaps "Griezmann is a priority behind Mbappe or Morata" actually means Griezmann is our second striker priority and our striker priority is Mbappe or Morata.

Don't worry, with my memory, you'll be safe! ;)

His next club surely won't be a stepping stone if Monaco have already declined €135m for him, if he comes to United for that sort of fee at 18 then how much would he cost at 24 when Madrid come in for him?

I think Mbappe will have a big bearing on our transfer this summer.

A) He will come to United.

B) Goes to Real, we get Bale.

C) Stays at Monaco and we go for someone like Lukaku.

Of course, just my own opinion. But I do truly believe that everything has already been set up. Jose knows who he is and isn't getting. All that's left is for the I's are to be dotted and the T's to be crossed.

The more players that Monaco lose, the better the chances of him leaving.

That assumes he's going to force the issue. Could be happy with guarantee of being first choice with an attack built around him ahead of the World Cup. Monaco probably just need to promise he can go to Madrid in a year's time if that's what he wants.

Agree key contact terms could be agreed with certain players (or their agents) but unlikely that negotiations with selling clubs are that advanced. Deals won't really get moving until after international games.

Until we give a proper chance and confidence to martial and rashford in their preferred positions and develop a play style and system suiting their strenghts we are never going to find out their real level. they also might score a lot including in ucl. Martial already has shown glimpses we have to first get our act together.

Anyone else think we could use Martial in a potential deal?

I'm not sure Monaco would take him back. I think it's too early to let go of Martial. Yes he had a bad season compared to his first one, but let's see how he responds next season before giving up on him. Now if you give me Ousmane Dembele for Martial, sorry but Tony's gonna have to go.

I doubt they would want him back to be honest. If Mbappe, Fabinho, Silva, Bakayoko, and Mendy all leave, they will throw a feck load of cash at just about any under the radar type player they want.

I want him to stay but it up to the gaffer and he clearly has his doubts

They'd need some guaranteed quality though if they'd want to finish in the CL places, can't get rid of 4/5/6 top players and replace them with youngsters with promise.

We had, Januzaj.

Personally, I don't think Rashford is overrated in terms of potential, but in terms of his current level he is massively overblown. Very young player, very early in his development, physically and mentally. A good 18 months away from being a top level first team starter. Personally, I think things could click with Martial a LOT more quickly up front.

Mbappe simply looks phenomenal to me, in every respect. Plus, he looks a natural starting out wide, whereas Martial loooks like he's being held there at gunpoint.

They wouldn't need to replace departing players with only youngsters. They could pretty much afford anyone they want with the money they get for Mbappe alone. Plus they already have Falcao who knocked in more goals than Mbappe this year.

why buy Mbappe for 100 million when 100/120 would probably get us harry kane

If I was Monaco I'd be looking to cash in on him now, to be honest. Even if he has another great season, his price next summer will be the same. If those 115-130 million numbers in the press are correct, that is.

It is an assumption, but I'd still say the chances are increased regardless. Mbappe is already first choice, and certainly is main central focus of the attack although I wouldn't go as far as saying the team is built around him. Losing key players to their team like Silva, Fabinho etc. however will put the team at a detriment for next season unless they can be efficient with their replacement strategy. They'll certainly have the funds.
