You can bid whenever you want, registration's transfers can only be done during transfer windows though.
Surprised that kind of unsettling is allowed must piss some teams right off

I think that the unsettling is mainly in people's mind.
Think that's the point
I'm talking about people outside of football or sports in general. If you follow rugby you probably know who is going to play where since October, the players and managers give everything and are seldomly unsettled.
Most likely agents talk to players before the clubs even know I would bet
Well Real are paying around 50 million for Vinicius who hasn't played a single professional match, so if the same club is calling for a transfer for the same position there's no reason why Monaco shouldn't ask for a world record fee considering they definitely won't be the only ones interested. When they flat out refuse that bid you have to wonder what they will accept.
These transfer fees are getting a bit ridiculous now, if we take the last five years inflation into mind how much will talent cost in five more years?
Surely the bubble must burst at some point.
Forty pages for a transfer that was never going to happen ..a player who had made it clear he doesn't want to play for us ..I really wonder why people want to debate things that are simply not going to happen

I think its a case of the player also being happy at Monaco and not wanting to move until after the World Cup. Mbappé's value won't go down in a year's time so Monaco are relaxed about it.When they flat out refuse that bid you have to wonder what they will accept.

That's easy to say though, in reality how many games will he get for Real with their current attaching options? He's competing with Ronaldo, Morata and Benzena for a striker spot, if the 90m fee is true I just don't see Madrid spending that on a 18 year old kid.
Exactly. There isn't a club on earth who would spent that money on a player just to have them on the bench. Situation with Vinicius is a bit different in that he can't move until he's 18 anyway and he's also highly sought after. There will be no competition when that kid signs for 120 mil € whatever the name of the club. He's going straight into starting 11 be it Real, United or Chelsea.

There's naff all money in Rugby though. The cash corrupts the system.
I don't see the point you are trying to make. The "absence" of money should be an even bigger problem, football players don't have to jump on the first good contract.
12 months of an agent getting his client in the news, offering his service to clubs, driving down the transfer fee or resistance to the transfer from the club, driving up the wage. Lots of cash around.
Never happens in Rugby because there's no competition.
Transfers don't impact the club that way (though they probably do with cashflow assuming that's one lump some). If he cost £100m on a 5 year deal that would cost the club £20m for 5 years from an FFP point of view. Which makes spending £400m realistic if you're already expecting £80m profit per year based on zero spend, or after any transfers out. It's feasible at a push, but I agree it's unlikely. You're talking about 200m spent on 2 players. Goodbye to any signings we want in midfield or defense then, unless we're willing to pay 400m in one summer.

Why would they take the very first offer?
I am not an ITK but had a chat with my brother in france, he thinks it isn't liverpool who bid but utd, and apparently the figure is bigger than 75mn, but the person who told him this thinks that the offer was rejected and will need a bigger offer to prize him away.
It might not literally be the first offer but we're still in May and the season isn't even over. Why would they accept anything at this point when they've got the entire summer to drag multiple clubs along? Why do you think it's the first offer?
Is your brother the president of Monaco?I am not an ITK but had a chat with my brother in france, he thinks it isn't liverpool who bid but utd, and apparently the figure is bigger than 75mn, but the person who told him this thinks that the offer was rejected and will need a bigger offer to prize him away.
Nope, but he does work for them in some capacity. Is your brother the president of Monaco?
You never know, especially if woody starts throwing money around. He's going to Madrid

Because offers are made sooner than you think? And it's not about accepting an offer but not entertaining certain offers. Monaco already rejected big offers last summer and apparently some clubs tried to make the same type of offers last winter, that's when Vasilyev said that he wouldn't even discuss about a transfer at less than 100m.
Even if all of that is true, my point still stands. Why would they agree to sell him now when they can leave it until July or even August?
