Flo loves shiny toys that everyone is talking about
Agree, for this I think that Madrid will bid if Mbappe accepts to leave Monaco and other teams bid, if not the best scenario would be to wait until 2018.

He must have been very drunk the day he signed Modric then

He was happy to get one over on Barcelona I think

I'm a weirdo but I believe that they are all better in the middle and we already have one too many, so the idea of adding Mbappé doesn't excite me.

Which is very possible, but a different argument altogether.

That said, the Barca front three are probably all better in the middle too. Any very talented forward player these days is usually earmarked for a central role, under the moniker of 'you want your best players in positions where they can influence the game'. Most top wide players can play in the middle, but I think a front three of Rashford, Mbappé and Martial could be excellent. Even Liverpool play a similar type of front three, with none of them being wide men, and they can be devastating going forward.

I'm a big supporter of Jose and will let him manage as he is more qualified than all us keyboard warriors.

I thought in January we should have signed Defoe for 6 months at least, as he always scores goals.

So if Jose signs Mbappé to play along side Rashford he must have a plan to attack with searing pace.

None of them have Neymar or Messi characteristics though. None of them are world class dribblers, none of them have incredible creativity or vision and none of them are great passers.

And Liverpool aren't a flippin' benchmark.

Nah We should stay away from him, Madrid aint signing a kid and developing him, but if we develop him and it turns out brilliant Madrid will be intrested than. Better to develop players who wanna play for us Like Martial and Rashford.
If we can have him as long as we had Ronaldo, and he helps us win the the Champions league again before he leaves for Madrid, I would gladly take him.

I bet Monaco are secretly hoping that we come in for him, we're the only ones gullible enough to pay something like 90m Euros for him.

Then again really if you think about it and the prices paid for Martial and that predator looking guy at Bayern then the market is already seriously inflated, and a Martial fee + £20m won't be that silly.

Really says it all about where football is at though when you can buy small companies on the stock exchange for the price of a teenager.

Amen!!

Nah Players like Griezmann Lukaku Muller can also win the champions league and will be at their prime and without the lure of joining other club. Mbappe is no where near anything like ronaldo, He was a once in a generation player with skills that anyone's eyes would pop out. You cant play 3 kids up front and expect to win the champions league with them.

We are getting dragged into too much semantics here. My comparisons are not to say the players all mirror each other. Gareth Bale got to a natural progression at Spurs where his influence was such that he started playing centrally. He is not as good a dribbler as our proposed front three, or at least not Martial either.

And Liverpool score a shitload of goals, more than anyone in this league if I'm not mistaken. More importantly, and to the darn point, is that they do it by playing 3 forwards, of whom none are natural wingers, or even #9s.

We bought Ibrahimovic for instant goals and to provide Rashford & Martial with expertise. Now we are replacing Ibrahimovic while shunting out these strikers to the wings. Not very happy if this is true.

I still don't see how you end up with that conclusion. I'm going to say what I said about Pogba, Pogba once said that Zidane was his idol and from that point people pretended to know what was in his mind, they pretended that he was bound to join Real Madrid which was obviously BS.

From the little we know about his plan, Mbappé could go anywhere, the only "certitude" is that he will put game time first.

Pogba was a united academy player with his dabbing buddies here, and we plan to build the team around him.

But Bale is a good crosser, he can shoot from distance, he is extremely powerful and he is excellent at creating space for himself. The proposed front three isn't balanced and lacks key elements like a playmaker in the mold of Benzema someone who brings the other two into play. People overlook Benzema's qualities, he plays because he complements the two others despite his relative lack of goals.

That's why I have doubts about the balance, I don't see creative wide players or a central playmaker in that front three.

And Mbappé is a Monaco academy player who has nothing to do with Real Madrid. So I still don't see why Martial is likely to stay while Mbappé would be guaranteed to leave for Real Madrid.

Well if he wants to play for united then let him go to madrid first , develop there and after 5-6 years when united come calling let him force his move from madrid to united for a record money as united will need a developed player than.

I'm confused, are you guys talking about Kylian Mbappe or Kevin Mbappe? The thread title says Kylian but the tweet which the OP has embedded says Kevin.

We already have 2 young strikers, why would Jose go for a 18 year old striker? Jose prefers experienced players. I don't believe these rumors.

Can he play on the right? Would sign him and move Mkhitaryan to number 10. Griezmann as a fluid number 9 with Martial on the left. This assuming Ibra goes off to MLS.

The only way I see us going for Mbappé is if we let Martial leave. It's no secret that Mourinho isn't convinced by Martial's mentality and he might be tempted to get a player he thinks he can develop better.

My biggest concern with this transfer would be that when I watch him live, he looks good but his best moments aren't at the same level as Martial or Dembélé. He could very well be a one hit wonder and I am almost certain that Martial is the real deal.

Martial as well? I'd like to see him tried in the centre more too. Not because he's better there, but because as a young player whose position is not completely set, it would benefit him to influence games in different ways. He's just 21. He doesn't always need to be floating along the left flank. I do think his hold up play was so much better in the first half of last season and as he's played out wide, that aspect has sadly disappeared from his game. He looked excellent in this respect early on.

Yeah Martial too, I don't think that he is playing naturally on the left. He reminds me Alexis Sanchez at Barcelona everything is forced.

I had posters of Transformers when I was a kid but now I have matured they are of street fighter.

he won't necessarily be a Madrid fan as an adult. We all go through silly phases as we grow up. Pssshht transformers smh face palm (I still love them really).
That picture is only four years old. Besides, he seems to be a Ronaldo fan rather than a Real fan.

I don’t know Mbappe, but I totally agree with everything else you said about the balance of these players. Great analysis.
