Overpriced in my opinion.

Plus, he might be amazing in Spain but who's to say we'll see the same quality over here?

Yeah because EPL midfielders > La Liga midfielders. I mean who wouldn't swap the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Xabi Alonso and Fabregas with the likes of Henderson, Cleverley and the Bean Pole we've got from Everton.

Would also prefer Herrera, although Koke would improve us for sure.

I want him so we can get some Spanish bromance going on here.

I cry myself to sleep with that photo under my pillow.

Which joke shall we go with.

Woody offers £15 million

Or

Woody waits for the release clause to expire then offers up £32million the day after ?

Let's go with the first one.

Second one has been a bit overused.

Work Osman's name into either one and you've got yourself a winner.

With Barcelona and Liverpool nosing around him too, it may not be so easy to line him up in january......Kebab is probably a more realistic stop gap solution in january

Oh no Liverpool are interested

Indeed, I don't know many players that turned down United for Liverpool recently. The last high profile one was Harry Kewell, turned out to be a terrific decision for him.

But if Barca really wants him, then it's over.

I've not seen enough of Herrera, just know that he's been out of Athletic Club's team lately.

As for Koke, he doesn't play in a midfield 2 for club or the Spanish under 21's, he plays more of a wider role regularly for Atletico, and his biggest strength is his crossing. He is a versatile player though, and his defensive contribution shouldn't be ignored. He doesn't shy away from any challenges.

He plays in a "two" for atletico in a 4231?

 Since when have Clev, Henderson or Fellatio been the best midfielders at their clubs let alone in the league. Even the jokes about that two team league are beyond BS. Lets not forget Alonso played in the Premiership for Liverpool and was nothing special at that time, no one was drooling over him, now all of a sudden....

His point still stands though. La Liga midfielders, as well as bundesliga midfielders, are on a different level to premier league midfielders. There isn't one world class midfielder in the premier league (whatever way you look at it, Toure is too inconsistent but on his day is one), and there are only a handful of very good central midfielders, like Carrick, Toure, ... drawing a blank already. There are a few quality youngsters, or players who are having very good seasons so far (specifically Ramsey), but there aren't many quality midfielders in the prem.

Also most midfielders who are worth more then 15 million would be better then our current midfielders, yet we managed to sign one of the very few that wouldn't improve it, and also paid twice that price while doing so.

Thats rubbish. The top two clubs in Spain and Bayern Munich have a beater central midfield than the EPL, the overall quality if the midfielders below is not better than the prem. We are a bunch of over hyping foreign league muppets. Is Koke better than Ramsey?? Not a chance but i bet most of us would rate him higher simply because he plays in Spain.

Did many on here even rate Ramsey that highly before this season when he started scoring lots of goals? I mean he had bags of talent, but Arsenal fans have been saying he's showing it all year, and people only started to take notice when he started scoring goals. In general, the Spanish league does have better midfielders than the premier league. The proof is in the wide array of options in the respective national teams. Koke has been top 3 midfielders this season in Spain, and believe it or not people do watch other la liga games other than the big 2. I probably watch more Spanish football than premier league this season, considering there is more games on sky (at least 4 per week)

In general that is always the case though. Fabregas accord to most stepped up when he added goals to his game at Arsenal. Ramsey has always been a good player obviously the injure took its imp at on his progression for a while. I could argue the Spanish league has more world class central midfielders but to say the premier league doesn't have a good set of midfielders is just a lie. The fact of the matter is 'we' let the top sides down. Chelsea and Liverpool could do with another central midfielder too but they can still compete at the top with what they have.

I always rated Alonso. Anyway. Name me better EPL CM then Fabregas, Iniesta and Xavi please.

Just ask for a top 10 for each, and while you'll make up a la liga list quite easily, you'll be hard pressed to find decent one's in the premier league past the top 5 midfielders.
