I could see Atletico being interested in a player like Hernandez if we are talking makeweights

Still don't think he will leave and I'd hate to see Hernandez go

I think Atletico are on the brink of being picked apart and like the Southampton players, wount want to be the last ones standing. of course he has loyalty to the club, but he must be interested in joining Barca if Fabregas is sold.

Job application rejected. Apply next year when you develop some ambition and cure your home sickness.

We at United prefer hungry, determined players with big cojones. :-)

What a stupid post. Is it a joke that I'm missing?

Ambition? He just won La Liga and came within a hair's breadth of winning the Champions League too. Staying strikes me as the most ambitious thing he can do. And where does he say anything about home sickness?

Basically... :wenger::wenger::wenger:

EDIT: All this from someone who isn't even that keen on the idea of us signing him.

My jokes are too lame for smartards.
*What has one got to do to spread some smiles around here. Its an uptight epidemic.

Atletico will give each of their first team players 800.000 € gross (400.000 € net) for winning La Liga and reaching the CL final. So much for them having no money and needing to sell half their team.

I am sure apart from maybe Costa and 1 or 2 older players, no other player will be sold.

Good for them!

Im surprised that barca want him. He is a very good player but I think he is too direct for them. I don't think he is their type of player at all and would end similar to the fabregas situation and I consider fabregas to be a better player.

I agree. It would be ridiculous to sell Cesc and pay close to 60m for Koke who won't be the answer to their problems. Don't see the point in them trying for him.

Couple of days old, that article, but it would certainly be a massive signing for us. Question is: would we even play him as a CM, considering he played pretty much most of his games on the wings?

Lol always with the preparing and considering.

I dream of a midfield three made up of Vidal, Koke and Fabregas. I don't even know if it works but that would be amazing.

Jorge Resurrección Merodio. If he signs for United, in the state we are in, it's a headline writer's dream.

So the headlines instead of Sanchester United will be Resurrected United

It's all up to Koke on whether he wants to stay or not, if the right bids come rolling in Atletico have absolutely no say on the matter. £48 million is huge for a 22 year old though.

£48m looks a fairly attractive fee for him. It's a set in stone price and about close to what you'd expect it would be in negotiations.

Really can't seem him coming here though. Surely Barca will move for him if they sell fabregas.

Would be exciting if we swiftly triggered that clause and waved a fat, fat cheque at him!

Again, it can be done with the right $£€ - many teams that were coming from a less attractive position than us have secured

He's not a 48 million quid player. We shouldn't even entertain such an idea. Coming 7th was tough to swallow, but doesn't mean we have to lose the plot and go on a spending rage!

I have no idea what a £50m player is but I don't think it's a stretch to say he's perfectly capable of reaching Ozil's current level in 3 years' time and if he progresses as Xavi expects and develops into anything close to the new Xavi then £50m would be perfectly reasonable. At this moment he's an extremely competent, well-rounded midfielder who would improve our midfield in practically all aspects while adding flexibility, class and grit.

Your talking utter nonsense......50 Million for one of the elite central midfielders in the game is the going rate at least....I think Pogba will for Bale money one year from now when Juve are ready to sell him to Madrid or PSG....Koke is on the same level as Pogba although obviously there are some things that each of them are better than the other at

Sky sources say Chelsea and Barcelona are both involved in moves to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke. Barcelona see him as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who they are looking to offload over the summer, but Chelsea are also thought to be taking steps to bring Koke to Stamford Bridge.

Koke to United not looking very likely at the moment.

Why would Atletico sell Koke to their closest rival? Can't get any more stupid than that.

Well unless someone pays the buy out clause he won't be, and he doesn't want to leave his boyhood club. Won't stop the rumours all summer long though.

If Atleti sell Diego Costa which looks likely then they won't be selling Koke.

They have no need to. I reckon he will be at ATM for atleast another season.
