Vidal would definitely take us up a level but Khedira is quite underrated on here, he is a very good player, he would be a very good signing and he could massively help out in terms of breaking up attacks and helping to cover our defence.

We have been linked to just about everyone this summer but curiously there seems little noise between us and Sami. That is curious especially he would walk right into our midfield and would start alongside AH. If Vidal is not available then Sami would be a very alternative. Can't understand why we aren't going for him.

I think with some concerns over Alonso's fitness and uncertainty of Illar Real have probably decided that it's better to have another option than to sell him cheap at this point. He'll probably go for a free to Chelsea next summer and Real will buy Pogba.

A German friend of mine just told me that German TV news (Sport1) are reporting that Khedira to United is 99% done with only the salary to be resolved. He told me the channel is not 100% reliable but when they report something it's not normally bollocks.
Khedira, like most players, is better playing in a 3 man midfield, where he can get forward, knowing he's got cover behind him. In a 2, I find he lacks discipline, and a midfield of say Khedira and Herrera could prove to be too open. Be good if we stick Carrick behind them, though.
That would be great news and would fulfil my muppet summer. All we now need is a solid CM and Khedira certainly fits the bill.
The only news about Khedira I've read today at the Sport1 website is that he's staying, following Ancelotti's comments at the press conference. Nothing about United. Maybe I've missed something, but I doubt it.

They usually report everything on their website before they film it for TV. I hope it's true though, would like to see Khedira at United instead of warming the bench at Real.
Exactly people who think Khedira - Herrera is a brilliant CM, haven't seen much of Sami. Would rather trust Strootman or Vidal besides Herrera than Khedira. And if we don't sign someone like Vidal we should rather sign a real number 6 than him. Khedira is not a bad player , I also think he would be fine in a 3-man-midfield, and is better than most of our midfielders (not that hard to be honest), but in our setup I think he would end up to be a pretty pointless and disappointing signing with high wages too and we will complain about our midfield next season again.
But it seems this one is closed for this summer anyway.
If we pulled off khedira, with di maria signed, we would have one hell of a midfield and attack. Look at how Real set up last season, we would be very similar
You cannot go wrong for the price he is worth, he is still an upgrade over what we have beyond herrera

Chemistry between Khedira and Di Maria is already a finished article indeed and a title winning material plus our left side would be Argentinian which is also a nice combo.

Of course, but these 2 would be pretty damn good combination going forward, robben and duff during their success at chelsea were never a ronaldo and bale, still does not mean di maria and janazaj cannot make the impact here. In the PL since we have no CL, di maria and janazaj sounds like a pairing we have not had since the beckham and giggs days

Yeah I already said for that price I would take him too, but I really doubt that he would be a bargain. It's Real, they will get a nice fee and the wages will be very high too.
Wages will be high because he is looking for a high one but the price, well Madrid don't have a strong negotiating hand. He has less than 12 months left on his contract and by the looks of it, is not too keen on re-signing with them. I think with us if we could get him for anything less than £15m, then we could offer higher wages. Isn't it worth more wages to a player if he makes us better and if he is better than the current crop of players we have?
But he is a fantastic player, he is better than some of the midfielders we have, I would be very happy too see him start in our midfield than seeing fletcher and cleverly start today

Well I know a lot of guys in this thread have said they wouldn't take him,but have you changed your mind after seeing our midfield today? Vidal seems to be everyone's muppet dream but it doesn't seem feasible.. I would take him as well as De Jong right now. Khedira as well as De Jong would waltz into our midfield.

No news? I saw some mentions about Arsenal, but it's strange there hasn't been more smoke. Maybe Arsenal will complete their ex-RM German midfield.
