Yeah, thats as close to a confirmation somethings happening as you're likely to get.

In that case it is the confirmation that nothing is happening.

And Hörwick as the press speaker is by far more relieable than any press source...

-----------------------

And United - van Gaal said "no" to a transfer in 2010.

You have to ask why a club feels compelled to deny a rumour, almost without fail thats because the rumour has some substance.

There's quite an easy explanation for this. Khedira is a big name in the German sports media landscape. On top of that any transfer rumour to Bayern München always gets dragged through the tabloids for months, which is why categorically denying such rumours early, is the logical approach.

Then there's also the fact to consider that we have to extremely talented youngsters for the CM position and signing Khedira would almost certainly mean that we'd lose Höjbjerg permanently and Gaudino might rethink his future as well. Both players have much higher ceiling than Khedira, which would make it a stupid move.

There's nothing to this rumour.

I do not know what other clubs do - but when Bayern says something like this it is like this - and was in the past.

Has agreed a deal with Schalke according to Marca, who have been on fire with news in the past week.

Would take him in a heart beat. Why aren't we even interested in him.

Khedira on a free would of been a no brainer. Perhaps he wants to go back to Germany though?

He would have been a great signing for most Premier League teams (would have loved him here) especially Arsenal who are in need of a player exactly like Khedira.

Because he is average (not that we don't sign average players ourselves, but we for sure don't need more of them).

Shalke's a decent move for him, never thought LvG would be interested as he's not disciplined enough for his tastes. I also think the fact he's pissed away a season due to greed tells you a lot about him.

He looks a bit slower to me since he's come back, so if he shakes that off, he'd be a fantastic signing for Schalke. Not sure why Mourinho didn't sign him to play with Matic and Fabregas.

He's more of a box to box midfielder than a DM. I'm glad we didn't go for him.

The Bayern Munich board wanted Khedira but Van Gaal wasn't a fan of him.
I doubt Van Gaal has changed his mind about him and Khedira has surely not forgotten that either.

Khedira isn't good enough for a top top club. His level is a club like Schalke.
If he would be good enough then Real Madrid would keep him and other clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Dortmund, PSG, Juventus or Atletico Madrid would do everything to get a player like him for free.

I would rather pay 15m for Geis than get Khedira for free.

Why cause he doesn´t want to play along in the Real Madrid meat factory. Madrid throw away players like trash, if they don´t play along with their cash-in game like Ozil and DiMaria.

Madrid pay outrageously high transfers fees, but low wages. Then they think they are entitled to (recover) another high transfer fee by selling the player again before his contract expires. Obviously the player, in this case Khedira, would have to take a lower wage at his new club. So Khedira said "feck no", I was underpaid at Madrid. Now I want to cash in on MY last big contract as the only player in the world that is a reigning CL and World Cup winner. That´s what happened here.

Khedira has been nothing but a top class professional his whole career, but as soon as he didn´t play along with Madrid´s meat grinder tactics, he gets buried in the Spanish press and by their sheep fans. They also bullied DiMaria and Ozil, neither would have left Madrid on their own. But they needed to go, cause Madrid needed the money for their new toys Bale and Rodriguez.

The only one of the top teams I thought might be interested in him is Chelsea as Mourinho seemed to like him at Real and he would offer him a different option to Ramires when playing the big games where Fabregas is moved further forward.

Football players usually want to play, not spend a season doing next to nothing because it will get them a few more bucks when the time comes, these guys are filthy rich to begin with so yes I would call what he did greed influenced.

Madrid said if you don´t allow us to sell you for €30M, we´ll never play you again. That´s blackmail. Yet Khedira is the bad guy? Khedira has no country behind him like Real Madrid. When he throws away his money, nobody will bail him out. He has to make his money last, so naturally after making like €3-4M a year at Madrid he wants to be properly compensated on his last big contract.

Why didn´t Madrid simply re-sign DiMaria and raise his wages. He was their fecking most valuable player last year. Which club bullies their most valuable player out of the team? That´s all you need to know about their business practices.

Read that back, are you asking me how a man is supposed to survive on ONLY €3-4M a year for the last few years? More than one club was willing to buy him but his greed on the wages he wanted stopped him from getting the move and he preferred to waste a season of his career so he can get more money next year when he already has millions and millions to begin with.

The offers have to match, too.
Do not forget that Khedira just came from an ACL last season without club match practice. A lot clubs do not want to take the risks or do not want to pay the same. Especially when Xabi left he probably thought he will get enough match time anyways - but he got injured again...

You just have one career.

First of all I think Khedira is a bright guy, who will manage his money wisely post-career and find another career, if he so desires. Nevertheless a lot of footballers aren´t the sharpest tool in the box. They often never finish a higher level of education, cause they are focused on football from a young age. They have to make their earnings last a lifetime, not just their playing career of 6-12 years. They also have to pay taxes, agents and stuff like all that, so you can probably knock off 50% of those earnings right away. Then you go figure how much a lot of 20 year olds, who suddenly have limitless money blow right away on stuff like five different sports cars *cough* Balotelli *cough*. So while I don´t feel pity, when they blow through what is still a ton of cash, evidence from all sports suggest that many still do.

@NL Max

Does Khedira fit the profile of a Louis van Gaal box to box player? Apparently LvG wasn't a fan of his when at Bayern as they wanted to sign him so I'm assuming he doesn't, do you know why not?

I do not know why because frankly.. I don't know much about Khedira. Not a fan of Real Madrid and haven't seen much of him.

I always thought he's a little stopgap solution for Madrid. He would be a decent squad player but don't think any top club would consider him as first teamer.

This guy is becoming the new sneijder. We've been talking about him for years now it seems. I feel the train is just about to leave the station for him.

I'd snap him up on a free. Not on the wages quoted though.

He is still a very good player, and was unfortunate not to play in the world cup final this year. Absolutely solid defensively, and isn't the worst player going forward.
Could easily fill in for Carrick, obviously not to the creative extent Carrick does, but would offer much better defensively, which means we could even afford Di Maria playing CM along side Herrera in games.

I just think on a free, he would add very good depth and an alternative

He's not that good defensively. He makes a tackle or two but thats the extent of it. Tom Cleverley can do that

Khedira is 100% about his engine and stamina, running about and getting forward to support the attack even though he's not very good in attacking areas

He's like Darren Fletcher

Yeah he's a liability defensively. I guess because he's average on the ball people just assume he can defend but he has no discipline and his positional sense is non existent.

He's an alright water carrier in a 3 man midfield if you want someone to press teams high up the pitch. That's about all he can do though.

Please no! He is the definition of average!

Not seen too much of him but he looked decent in the world cup. I think if we go for someone like Hummels, we might go for Khedira to help him settle. He's in the prime of his career, vastly experienced. He's won important trophies. If he was that bad a player, he would not have won so many caps for Germany. Since i've not seen him much, I don't know if he can give us something different or supplement what we have - but maybe LVG would think he can do a certain job for him. Who knows?

The fact is, no one really knows. Perhaps the premiership would suit him better then La Liga? Only time will tell

Surely he's going back to the Bundesliga.
