He's good but not sure he'll be the right player for us tbh.
He's good but not sure he'll be the right player for us tbh.
May I ask why you think that?
Well I asked our itk what Sir Alex's thoughts are, not yours. Hopefully if United actually know who he is now, they've done a bit more research than "gathering"
Just looking at the Stroots stats on WS.
They don't have detailed stats for the Erdivisie but he has 5 goals in 13 starts. In the Europa league, however, he makes an average of 77.7 passes per game with a 91.8% pass accuracy. He has also made over three games, an average of 7 tackles and 2 interceptions per game!
I really want to sign him now, he sounds exactly like the kind of player that we need, he moves across the pitch bloody quick too.
Stats are like bikinis, shows everything except what matters.

What matters then?
He strootes, he scores !
a bit like when scholes is on the edge of the box and everybody shouts shooooot!
We can modify it to everytime he touches the ball stroooooooot!
Yeah they do, although I'd say it's more Strot- than Straut- though. It's really clear from listening to the Dutch commentators.
If we do sign him and he starts hanging out with Büttner, it'll look uncannily like this.
Kevin is a new typical box to box midfielder who can play in zones or in full pressure. Kevin Strootman is able to adjust extremely fast within new teams as he switched sides alot and always gaining improvement. He started off with Sparta Rotterdam, went onto FC Utrecht and after a half year playing with FC Utrecht he got signed, together with Dries Mertens who also use to play for FC Utrecht, by PSV Eindhoven for a wopping 13million euro's (around 9~10million pounds).
Kevin has alot of stamina but somehow when the team is at full pressure on the oppponents side he seems to be very calm and just passing to the wingers and an occasional ball forward to the strikers. I think if you could compare him with different player he'd a left footed Mark van Bommel.
And comparing him with for example a bit less energetic player as Ramires (most of the time he's running around like a bull in my opinion) He has a calm mind but his style of play is, especially in big matches, amazing. He's that type of winner guy that, if he losses, needs to chill out for a bit.
Comparring him within Manchester United player, he'd be your sort of Roy Keane guy. The only difference would be his accent.
If Manchester United could stabelize him more and increase his long distance passing and heading, he'd one of THE better/more complete midfielders The Netherlands and perhaps Europe have to offer since a long while.

He describes him as a completely different player to how he is made to look in the videos and that.
Interesting that he feels his long distance heading needs work
What the hell are we waiting for?
Fergie, sign him up
We'll ignore this chap and sign another winger instead as that's how Manchester Unite roll.
The lovechild of RvP and Lucio.

We play 2 in midfield - we have to choose from
Carrick
Cleverley
Anderson
Giggs
Scholes
Fletcher
Nick Powell
that's 7 players for two positions and thats before we even mention Petrucci. Also Rooney and Kagawa could play there so thats' 9 players for two positions.
Yet we only have three wingers - Valencia, Nani, Young plus Welbeck.
We need more wingers!!
