MANCHESTER United received some good news with regards their chase for to PSV transfer target Kevin Strooman.
PSV are lining up a replacement for the midfielder as they prepare for life without him.

Holland international Strooman has been a breath of fresh air to the Eredivisie, earning praise for his performances following his move from Utrecht to PSV.

He is valued at £14m, and could be a welcome addition to Manchester United who are looking to freshen up their midfield.

Sir Alex Ferguson had been monitoring Strooman for some time, but now a move seems to be on the cards.

The United manager was close to making a move for Strooman in the summer transfer window, but plumped for Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa in the end.

Now with the January transfer window Ferguson will reignite the chase for the Dutchman.

He hasn't mentioned what the good news is, or managed to spell his surname correctly.

That is pretty much the definition of preparing for life without him, tbf.

Holland international Strooman has been a breath of fresh air to the Eredivisie, earning praise for his performances following his move from Utrecht to PSV.

That makes it sound like he's transferred in from another league, which he obviously hasn't. So the air might seem fresh, but it's sort of stale.

Again with freshness.

How could it not be with good news like that?

The United manager was close to making a move for Strooman in the summer transfer window, but plumped for Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa in the end.

So he bought players in entirely different positions.

Now with the January transfer window Ferguson will reignite the chase for the Dutchman.

That's not even a sentence. It's just a collection of keywords. And given that he hasn't made a bid, reigniting something which has yet to be ignited would be quite a trick.

Otherwise excellent.

I like this bit:

"Sir Alex Ferguson had been monitoring Kevin Strooman"

Says....who? Because the article doesn't tell.

Don't we have that Mexican midfielder coming in January?

Just been told by a mate who is over in Holland that a deal is done, only question remains if he joins in Jan or in the summer.

Also, the press over there seem to think so too.

Seems your friend works higher up for United than Rene. Pretty impressive given he lives in Holland

Without being a troll, I will love it if he joins. Prior to the Summer, I remember my two muppet choices were Kagawa and Strootman.

 Hope this is true.

Agree with Nate Dogg....looks like Strootman is moving to OT either in winter window or next summer.

Does your friend know what Sir Alex's thoughts are on his lack of speed?

Implying speed is a key attribute for a player to actually be a success? He has enough physical presence about him to stride past players - that's what I'm gathering of him anyway.

I'm not ITK or saying this will happen....all i said was that i've been told it's a done deal.

And lets not forget transfer dealing can get leaked from various sources, i recall the Valencia deal being public knowledge a good 6 months before he joined us, also the same for DDG, RVN, i could go and mention quotes where Fergie denied the deals but later happened so don't give me shit about Rene saying we are not interested!!!

Remember the quote "i wouldn't even sell them a virus"..

Lots and lots of rumours about this on Twitter now. Advocat said that there's a chance he'll go in Jan if a really big club comes in for him and his agent said there's been no "official contact" with United.

Well I asked our itk what Sir Alex's thoughts are, not yours. Hopefully if United actually know who he is now, they've done a bit more research than "gathering"

Just looking at the Stroots stats on WS.

They don't have detailed stats for the Erdivisie but he has 5 goals in 13 starts. In the Europa league, however, he makes an average of 77.7 passes per game with a 91.8% pass accuracy. He has also made over three games, an average of 7 tackles and 2 interceptions per game!

I really want to sign him now, he sounds exactly like the kind of player that we need, he moves across the pitch bloody quick too.

The DDG deal was leaked by our employees constantly being in the Atletico crowd. I'm sure you have lots of pictures of United scouts and goalkeeping coaches watching PSV matches
