Kevin De Bruyne

They are not just playing better than us, but also better doping. Disappointed, come on Ed, give us the best doctors

Ive been watching this league for 20 odd years. I tell you one thing- that kind of out put is not sustainable over a long period of time.
I dont want to go for doping remarks but thats fishy.

Let's wait and see. He's only 26 and it's entirely possible to do that once a week. If he's still doing it at the end of the season having played twice a week since Christmas then I'll agree there's something amiss, especially when Pep is involved.

The other top 5 teams are highly interested to reveal the truth about City's fitness levels. If they can't show that something is wrong, there must be a reason for it: either they are doping themselves too (most likely) or City aren't using different (doping) substances.

Btw, Matic covers 11-12 km per game. He is much taller than KDB though and can't sprint as much. Still, KDB is neither in the top 10 in the distance covered table nor in the top 10 in the most sprints table.

De Bruyne lucky to get away for the card waving gesture and swearing to an official, both yellow card offences according to the rules and he should have been off, but nothing will be made of it because he doens't play for big bad Man United.

"The other side is doping " is the most bitter bitterness.
Except Pep was caught up in the BALCO scandal as a player at Bari and there have been sustained rumours over several years about the role of the Spanish Dr who helped dope Lance Armstrong (Fuentes) in Barca's success.

It's hardly as if there's no context here.

If Barca was doping everyone was doping. Either everyone is doping or almost no one is doping.

If your context is rumours then you have no context at all.

Yeah that's just bollocks. Silva AND Aguero absolutely would have been top players in both sides.
Silva would fit in Barca but would be a bench player in RM. They already have a ridiculous amount of world class midfielders. Modric, Kroos and Casemiro are the best midfield in the world imo. Then add Isco, Asensio... it would be tough for Silva.

Aguero on the other hand would be perfect for Madrid, even though I believe the plan is for Ronaldo to take that role more and more.

I would say KDB is just efficient, he saves his running for when it matters.

They also aren’t having to do lung busting runs up and down the pitch which is a massive difference, because they press so well it’s short sharp little runs that aren’t so hard on your stamina.

When you watch us people like Pogba and Matic are going box to box regularly, no wonder they’re knackered.

Yeah that's just bollocks. Silva AND Aguero absolutely would have been top players in both sides.

No it’s not bollocks. They would never have got in those sides because Madrid and Barca had players in their respective players who were just as good or better.

Silva couldn’t displace prime Iniesta for Spain, so he wasn’t going to do it for Barca. Even now that Iniesta is starting to fade. It wouldn’t be the best resolution to replace him with 31 year old.

No they didn't @Bojan11, Aguero is and has always been a miles better player than Benzema. Silva is and always has been a better player than Özil, Rakitić, Khedira, Sahin.

Saying otherwise is just playing plain dumb.

That never really made sense in regards to Pep's time as a coach at Barca though. Fuentes was arrested in 2006. It was back then long before Pep took over at Barca that there were strong rumours about an involvement in Spanish football. I'm not saying there isn't doping in Spanish football, but the whole Fuentes is the reason behind Pep's success story makes absolutely no sense at all and is just lazy.

Also, considering the fact that Fuentes didn't just help Spanish cyclists but pretty much everyone no matter the nation it's rather silly to assume that English, Italian, German clubs or whatever nation you want to pick don't do it as well. Why would it be limited to Spanish top clubs in football, when the top American, German, Italian, whatever cyclists were also involved with Fuentes?

Definite penalty. Not sure how red tinted specs can even say it wasnt. Was the same with the Pogba red card. You still had people coming on here saying it wasnt a red as it wasnt deliberate. Ridiculous .

Pogba wasn't deliberate, but a red. This is dive.

Actually, no wonder they fall on their arses all the time when referees give for this kinda bs penalties.

Clearly dived for the penalty so should get a ban really, but then this seems to be a bit of a joke rule. Zaha dived to win one last week and Lanzini also dived to win one yesterday. There's multiple times every game where someone will try it. Just another example of the FA bringing in a rule that they can enforce as and when they see fit (i.e. when the media tells them to).

Was a bit confused why De Bruyne was doing a 2-1 sign with his hands after putting them 2-0 up. I genuinely thought he was just being really thick and thought it was 1-1 and he'd just put City in front. Only realised just now when someone pointed out he was referring to the game at Old Trafford. It takes a strange kind of mentality to be wound up about winning a game.

Benzema suited the Madrid system better than Aguero. He allowed Ronaldo and Bale to thrive because he has better hold up play than Aguero.

Silva wasn’t better than Ozil when Ozil was at Real Madrid. So not sure what you talking about there. Ozil was the best playmaker in the world at his time with Real Madrid, whilst Silva was being played out on the left. Who plays on the left for Real Madrid? That’s where Silva played for Spain and Valencia.

You don’t seem to grasp what I am saying. Madrid and Barca had no reason to buy Aguero or Silva when they were 25-26 because they had better players at the time. De Bruyne is a totally different situation because both Real Madrid and Barca have aging aging midfielders like Modric and Iniesta. If Silva was 25 now then yeah I’d agree with you he’d be the perfect replacement for both of them. But he’s the same age as them.

Also when did Khedira and Sahin play the same position as Silva? Yeah speaking about dumb. You might as well mention Coenteao and the Ukraine defender Barca signed.

More likely he referred to Silva.

Yeah, no they didn't.

The guff about Benzema is one I always laugh at, media driven bollocks pushed mainly by Guillem BallBag.
Silva has always been a better player than Özil, at every club, Özil was eventually deemed surplus to requirements and sold remember when Silva was still just 27.

Turned out he was dedicating the goal to Silva (No 21) who missed the game due to personal reasons (apparently something bad).

No it’s true dear. Ancelotti, Mourinho and Zidane tend to agree. I think I rate their opinion rather than @Regulus Arcturus Black.

Benzema is a unselfish player which fits in with Ronaldo who is selfish as you can get. He sacrificed himself just like Rooney was doing for Ronaldo. Aguero is selfish too and I’m not sure him and Ronaldo would have been able to play together.

This isn’t FM you know. Madrid won three champions league with Benzema as their striker @Regulus Arcturus Black thats more than our club has managed in the history @Regulus Arcturus Black. So I’m sure Benzema was doing something right. Yeah he’s been a donkey this season.

Some Spurs fans claimed he is mocking them because the gap between City and Spurs went up to 21 points. But, apparently, a tribute to David Silva as others said.

This is the fuzziest of logic.

Fuentes was has been linked to Barca and Madrid but nothing concrete as far as I can see. The suspicion would be around Pep's doctor: Dr Segura, who gave him the injections that led to his positive test for steroids. Pep took Dr Segura to Barcelona with him. Luis Garcia del Moral, a doctor who received a lifetime ban from cycling for his involvement with Lance Armstrong, has also been alleged to have worked for Barcelona.

http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/1...opted-for-arbitration-hearing-with-USADA.aspx

This site alleges that the company he worked for in Valencia listed Barcelona and Valencia as clubs Del Moral had worked for on their website.

This isn’t FM you know. Madrid won three champions league with Benzema as their striker.

Yup, had nothing to do with Ronaldo that, and they would never have won those CLs if Aguero replaced Benzema.

United won 5 PL titles and 1 CL with Andy Cole as striker, we'd never have won them if Batistuta came instead of Cole.

Anyway, the proof will be in the pudding won't it, will anyone come in for KDB even after this incredible season? I very much doubt it through fear of the Arabs Neymaring them.

I've rewatched it and saw almost no contact at all, the defender missed KDB, KDB jumped over the defender and planted his feet on the ground, was literally no contact I could see at all. It was a dive.

Edit: watch at 4:47 - it was a dive.

It's inconclusive. It can be easily said that at 4.50 Vertonghen comes into contact with his planted leg. As soon as that happens, De Bruyne won't be able to take his next step and can only go down.
He completely manufactured the “contact” by leaving a leg there. He had no reason whatsoever to place his trailing leg there.
Yeah I think there's more mileage in this rather than arguing there was no contact. That said, when you do the stopover to the left like that, your right leg has to veer over to the right on your next step to push off. So it becomes quite grey between manufactured contact and De Bruyne's normal path there.

Yes so Real Madrid won three champions league with Benzema. Your Cole logic is stupid too considering the key part him and Yorke played in the treble. Not sure Batistuta and Yorke would have had the same partnership or he could have been another Veron. So many ifs and buts. Why don’t you actually pay attention to what happened?

Neymaring them with who? Isco has a £622m release clause. Asensio has a £422m release clause. Carvajal has a £300m release clause. Ronaldo and Messi both have ridiculous release clauses. I don’t think both clubs would mind if somebody paid the release clauses for Suarez and Bale. Iniesta has a contract for life. Modric, Ramos and Pique are old. So maybe you could tell me what players Madrid or Barca will be scared of losing from City?

Both clubs have wised up so you can forget about neymaring them for a while unless the Arabs are prepared to pay half a billion for a player. Neymar was just stupidity from the Barca board to have such a low release clause.

Why would you want to go to Real or Barca if you were KDB? Both sides are in transition and currently lesser teams than City.

Also Pep is proving what a top class manager he is, I wouldn’t want to miss out on what City could and probably will achieve under Pep if I was KDB.

Unless he has always secretly wanted to play for them, I agree with you. Ronaldo left us when we were much much better than Madrid.

Based on performances and influence I’d deBryne is the best bar none so far this season. CL and World Cup will determine the rest of season and Balon D’Or

City have had Sterling, Silva, Sane etc playing out of their skin. Do you watch Barca? Apart from Messi and Ter Stegen, no one is having anything like a great season.

It's exactly the infraction Herrera got booked for against City. There was contact but only because he made sure there was when he dived. It should have been a yellow not a penalty.

They're not really similar incidents.

Why not? They both dived and they both did everything they could to make sure there was contact.
Because De Bruyne's stepover requires him to lurch to the right to push off his right foot. In Herrera's case, they've both stopped dead and there's no justification to stick his leg out to the left.

Every year I wonder how a player like Benzema could be starting games together with world class players like Ronaldo, Kroos, Marcelo, Isco, etc. And every year he surprises me. He is a fantastic team player. Agüero is probably a much better player in most teams, but in RM Benzema fits perfectly. And the results have been great.

Yesterday was his best performance of the season for me. I thought he was fantastic all game and without David Silva alongside him he just stepped up and created more himself in a more advanced role. Best player in the pitch by an absolute mile.

I suspect it won’t be long before an every touch video pops up.

Hopefully, rather than forming prayer circles and pettily hoping for another big club to snatch him away, Mourinho and his people are looking for ways to make United's players as effective as he's been this season.

Also, the doping allegations  The transformation to RAWK level bitterness and delusion really is on its way. God I hope this team starts winning consistently soon, can't imagine this place in 3-4 years if City are the ones dominating and United are still in their shadow.

He's very unique in his style, also evidently he's now full of confidence and everything just seems to work for him whatever pass or shot he tries at the moment. The thing about him that stands out for me most is his vision, at times it almost feels like he observes the game from the stands given the kind of passes he pulls off.
