Kevin De Bruyne

Ridiculous power on that shot that Stekelenburg deflected towards the post.

Indeed, unbelievable technique. Especially since he didn't sprint towards the ball and hammer it as hard as he could. He made it look like a half arsed tame shot that went about 80km/h

One of those players with the talent to take the game forwards. You watch a team you don't like hoping that one of their players plays brilliantly.

Feck Bayern, how do you think we feel for letting him go? :(
Sorry mate :wenger: felt the same with Pogba too when we let him go on a free, although we still got him back, albeit with the world's most expensive price tag. KDB and Hazard on the wings, what a midfield. Someone should do a Chelsea reject XI, I am pretty sure that's some team!

Scary good but at least they took Matic back too. Felipe Luis (though he never settled), KDB, Ramires, Salah, Lukaku off the top of my head. I'm sure theres more too.

Mata.

Praising him for a shot that didn't go in? Yet if it was Pogba, it would have never been mentioned

Exactly what I was thinking. Missed penalty, shot from distance that was saved and he is praised for his technique and on the other hand Pogba was blamed for missing chances (there is a good chance both are not done by same person but general feel of the thread is so different)

If that was the only difference between the 2 it would be different but KDB has been banging in goals and assists this season along with being probably the best player in the division (yesteday though he was off.) Pogba has arrived for double the fee and as of yet been average with the odd good performance. So he gets cut a little more slack on an off day. Pogba will come good too and the over criticism will stop

Pogba was £120M? That's news to me.

KDB has been fantastic, really looking forward to the Barca games to see how him Silva can stamp their authority on the games. Such a shame I'll miss this Wednesday's game.

With City signing him for close to £60M, I don't think any team in the world will be able to afford him (he will naturally have admirers).

The Pogba thing was more 90m to 60m so we'll say 1.5 times the price. The point I was making was KDB hit the ground running at City, Pogba hasn't (I probably should have left he cost out). The inform player will always get a little extra praise for doing the same thing as the one whose not at his best. Its the nature of the media and pundits but I also remember Pogba being praised for that shot that hit the bar. I'm not saying KDB is better, I'm saying he'll get a little extra praise because of the way he's been playing while Pogba will probably get a little extra criticism because of his cost and the expectations that were lumped on him and you guys this season. Once you hit form and PP gets a couple of goals and assists over 3 or 4 games, attitudes will change.

Likewise if KDB has a mare against Barca, we don't beat Southampton and you guys dump us out of the cup, attitudes towards him will change.

To compare the current media treatment of both on the basis of 1 shot like the post I quoted was ridiculous imho.

Also, I fully expect Barca to teach us a lesson and we won't cope with MSN and unless Fernandinho has the game of his life, Barca's midfield. Barca to win by 2 if I had to guess. I'll be watching it but most likely hiding behind a pillow as I think we're far too open and naive atm. The thoughts of us getting caught up field and MSN breaking on us the way Everton did for their goal, or Spurs did 2nd half is scary.

Welcome to the Caf where every time an opposition player (especially City players) does something decent everyone wax lyrical but our own are underrated and over scrutinised.

And KDB has become one of the most overrated player on the Caf. Quite predictable given he plays for City but still.

See this is what I'm talking about, a shot from KDB is talked so highly for pages as some extraordinary feat

Waited for the gif to see what kind of otherworldly shot it was then just got reminded that people are just blowing everything out of proportion when it comes to this guy.

What are you on about? Two(!) members praised the shot as a great attempt and you turn that into 'talked so highly for pages'. And then you say other people are blowing everything out of proportion, maybe you should start with yourself.

When I was watching that game, I thought it took a nick off Barry, hence that swerve. Like it skimmed off off his boot and redirected the power.

Pogba didn't really hit the ground running. Wasn't anything special from mid-october until he got injured in February. Came back from the injury and was pretty good for the rest of the season. He's been a lot better this season because he's a lot more consistent in his game. It's more about him and less about Silva + he's got a lot better players on the flanks now namely a good Sterling instead of a bad one and Nolito instead of Navas.

Last season he was good but inconsistent. This season he's been the best player in the league.

Think KDB is amazing, but that shot's overrated. Pogba's shot vs Watford was clearly the better attempt.

Frankly you see those shot happen here and there but what you don't see are people waxing lyrical over them unless they go in.

But it seems Kdb doesn't need them going in for people to lose their minds and blow everything out of proportion.

He's in that category of players on the Caf who get over praised no matter what thus becoming overrated.

Not our fault if you're expecting too much only to be disappointed after.

You mean after sitting here hearing all these praises about the shot, technique etc, I shouldn't have expected much

You're on the caf man. Unless you see things for yourself, always be half skeptical. We don't all appreciate things the same way.
Well to be fair even on the Caf these shots don't get mentioned unless they go in. So when I heard a shot that just hit the bar being praised to heaven I thought if had to be something extremely ridiculous.

And it turned out its just a powerful shot that hit the bar.

Meh. Pogba hits those kinda shots with his eyes closed.

Well tbh it is basically what I said :wenger:

As good as he is, he has the smack of a flat track bully and a good one at that who will make the difference against the small teams. But he was very poor against Chelsea last game. Missed a chance that would put even Torres to shame
