Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

So what if you did, all about opinions. I am certain that ye are genuine contenders this year. So much in their favour this season that Liverpool have to go close.

There are probably a few reasons with one being simply most of us don't think we are.
Some of us probably keep those expectation to ourselves as the WUM merchants on here often say we are deluded, arrogant and more even when we don't say we are contenders - the thread would be awash with those types should we suggest we will win the league.

Personally I didn't fancy us for top 4 before the season started now I am hopeful we can make that - challenging for the league I still at this moment don't think we will.

I couldn't care less as a United fan.

United fans would too and arguably more than you lot - that's my whole point.
So you enjoyed us finishing 2nd while you languished in 7th more than we did?

I am gonna have to call bullshit on this. Every game was a joy for a good six months that season. You got served shit on a stick.

If you think the joy of schadenfreude outweighs the sheer fun we had from games that season, I think you don't really enjoy football at all.

I think we will finish above them. Don't see them ending the 26 year wait without a world class player like Suarez.

Their squad is still very average. The advantage they have is that the their coach has had a while to build while ours has had 2 months

Yes, on the back of a prior vast spending spree, which Mourinho has accelerated even further.

And Liverpool didn't spend any money isn't it? Your posts are laughable when you always ignore the context.

Aloysius Paulus Maria "Louis" van Gaal had 2 years didn't he? so having longer isn't necessarily an advantage.
Besides I thought he was the "special one", and given the vast sums spent on players surely the club are looking at a more instant success?

As far as our average squad goes we are playing some of the most attractive football in the league so far, and have had positive results against some good sides.

It's a team game, not many Leicester players would have got in United's team last season maybe, but look how that ended up.

Come on Glaston. LVGs idea of football and Mourinho's are completely different. LVG spent a lot of money on shite. I think you guys will finish above both of us.

City
Arsenal
Spurs
United/Liverpool/Chelsea

As of now that's what I expect

LVG was shite. I expect Mourinho to reel Liverpool in. Instant success after 3 awful years? Relax he's not Klopp, will take time

Its called banter mate.

Do you remember when Liverpool fans put a statue of Moyes outside Anfield? Same thing.

There's a difference between banter and blind hatred blurring your views on a team. The arguments over the last few pages are tenuous at best in trying to discredit Liverpool as they are currently, they're playing better than we are and the league is all up in the air too, it's a genuinely tough one this season and when it's this close between so many clubs I think the chances of Spurs/Liverpool/Arsenal (only included because they haven't won it in 12 years and haven't looked like it either) winning it increase a fair amount.

I'd hate it if Liverpool won but our arguments against them winning it don't stack up at the minute with the form they're in and the form we're in.

Especially the one about trying to downplay the teams they've played, the way they were discredited was reaching to say the least.

This isn't RAWK man.

Good post.

Now, now! I was never talking about us - we were awful, I agree and I was extremely disappointed with our season. Purely looking at Liverpool's results that season, though, I have to say I totally enjoyed the outcome and I most certainly will again if it were to happen. What happens to us this season is totally irrelevant - my feelings towards my club is not going to change regardless of how the season progresses for Liverpool.

You are just trying way too hard - just like you would remember that season for the fun had from games, pretty much the entirety of the rest of the world is going to remember it for the way it ended miserably for you. If anything, you performing that well and failing in the end only makes it better for me as a rival fan!

Liverpool will inevitably feck it up. You can quote me on that.

The BS on here from Utd fans has got me chuckling.

"They won't keep the intensity up!"
Bvb did it season after season with cl football to boot.

"They will lose to teams they should beat!"
So will every team in the division. Always has been upsets and that's what makes this league so good.

"Their players are more shit than ours!"
Yup, agree that on paper they are but your problem is they're not a team. They're a collection of individuals. Fellini still gets a game FFS even after spending £300 mil after his arrival.

"Your results arnt that good and you caught arsenal, Chelsea, spurs at a good time to play them. You got lucky!"
Just fecking llooll talk about grasping a straws...

Thing is were 7 games in and Utd fans are the ones going crackers. Pool fans are attempting to chat in a respectful manner and getting dogs abuse for it. I completely understand this is a utd forum but this place has always had good posters who will debate in a hard but fair way but not in this thread. Not all utd fans I hasten to add.

I would have thought Utd fans would have been mad busy on the Man Utd forum trying to figure out if mourinho is a busted flush and pondering the question. Is Pogba worth £89mil and if not do the "dabs" make up the shortfall?

Even @GlastonSpur is getting pulled on his comments and he's an outsider like any utd fan. Think you will challenge btw gladston :)
Thing is I have no idea where we will finish but I tell you what. I'm enjoying how my team is playing. It's fecking great!

It's not our year though laa!

Observe, someone trying too hard to pretend they were absolutely fine with pissing away their only shot at a title in 20 years.

So what if we enjoyed it? That's football and it was amongst the most hilarious sequence of events that football has seen in this country. Slapstick and tragedy in equal measure.

Of course, we weren't fine with pissing away the title with a slip.. That was heartbreaking! And of course you enjoyed it! Anything else would be strange. I would be pissing myself, if it were the other way round, like if City had scored 2 in the extra time against QPR in 2012. Now THAT would be hilarious

But.. We still had a great season! And I will take that season too, over all the mediocre seasons we have had before and after, despite the slip. We have had a few other shots at the title btw..

Our squad took the title loss to regroup and win the title straight after, while you went back to shit

To be honest I would've laughed at us in 2012 too, but as a United fan you kind of have to be philosophical and see it in the context of winning four of the previous five titles, as well as the one that immediately followed.

And of course if City hadn't already got that title monkey off their back in 2012, then 2014/15 would've been nowhere near as funny from a United perspective. As it stood, no one gave a crap that City won the league that year. It's almost forgotten.

Well, this can happen when one club loses their most profilic player and star striker while the other team signs a top class striker, right?

It is not like the last title of SAF was an amazing group effort just as much as Liverpool´s title challenge wasn´t. Both teams were carried by individual performers first and foremost. Pool by Suarez and United by De Gea and Van Persie.

Just a quick one. Liverpool haven't won a league title since the back pass rules inception.

All those years of success were founded on boring back pass football. When the rule came in their success dried up.

United's glory years though? Fantastically exciting free flowing football. Just saying.

Talk about letting Liverpool off easy. I'd much rather blame our lack of success over the last 25 years on a rule change. The reality is that the club hasn't been manged very well on or off the pitch. There have been signs of promise and nearly moments but it's still not been good enough.

Everyone else was able to pass the ball back to the keeper as well though...just saying. :p

I am sure you're right.. I can imagine your discussions in here :

"Oh.. Did they put two in at extratime? And Manchester is blue now? So what?! Couldn't really care less!"

True. And after that you went to shit too. So both our clubs succes is in the past, and we have both been shit for some years. Lets see, who will crawl out of the shit first..

Sometimes I don’t understand opposition fans on this site. I mean do you expect the united fans to pat you on the head and say “yeah you guys are going to win everything, I envy you lot so much” I mean I know on Rawk there are some mysterious “united supporters” who spend their whole day saying how Liverpool are going to win everything including the Oscars but you didn’t honestly expect that here did you?
Also experience has shown us that every time Liverpool fans get excited about anything in their team, it ends badly. There is literally a chart that documents your boom bust cycle. So the most objective conclusion based on past evidence is that things will go tits up.

I'm trying to figure this out. So who do you support. No title race is dead yet QUOTE="Attila, post: 19892152, member: 76034"]Ok go wank over Klopp. Your own title race is dead so i guess u are trying to ruin ours, fork off[/QUOTE]

Van Persie was superb that season but we had many players who had very good season. Players like Rafael, Carrick, Rio, Evans even Rooney was very good but for some reasons his performances are under appreciated from that season.

His league performance:
2 assists vs Newcastle in 3-0 win
2 goals and assist vs Stoke in 4-2 win
1 assist vs Arsenal in 2-1 win
2 goals and 1 assist vs reading in 4-3 win
2 goals vs City in 3-2 win
2 goals vs Southampton in 2-1 win
1 goal vs Fulham in 1-0 win
1 goal and 2 assists vs Norwich in 4-0 win
1 goal vs Reading in 1-0 win

These are just games were his goals/assists had impact on result. Only arguable case is against Newcastle and Norwich.

No.. of course not! Did you expect us to sit back and take your shit without giving back?

I expected you guys to take a little banter without taking it so personally. Man, those 26 years really stripped away all sense of humor huh?

I still think they have a very average team. Overrated by miles on here by opposition and our own fans alike.

What are you on about? This time last year we were top of the league, perfect comparison. We're 7 games into the season. There has been no progress under Klopp, didnt he finish in the same position as the year before? And, you clearly havent been watching the games just the results because neqrly every Liverpool fan in this thread has practically admitted they havent played that well in all their opening games so I actually hold the same view they have about their form more or less. The main reason I took the piss was nothing to do with that, purely because theyve come out of the woodwork after a few good results.

The most aggressive pressing team in the league vs a team who struggles to play out of the press. Hopefully Mourinho has learned his lesson from the City game. Knowing him I imagine we will sit deep and compact and try and hit them on the break, to work that needs players who play well under pressure and who can make good decisions, our attackers and our attacking tempo also needs to be quick to take advantage of gaps. The Liverpool attack looks so fluid at the moment so I'm expecting them to score at Anfield, we need three men in midfield, two to sit and one who will press their dm when we are out of out of possession, get in those half spaces when in possession and help launch passes that open them up on the break. personally I would play Pogba in that role with Blind and Herrera as the two sitting midfielders.

I'm skeptical but genuinely won't be able to cal this until I see how we line up.

I am sure you're right.. I can imagine your discussions in here :

I was was talking about 2014/15. No one cares that City won it because we were all too busy laughing at Liverpool pissing away their only shot at a league in 20 year. Even now loads of people seem to think Chelsea won it.

I am really trying to understand you here. So.. You don't want the banter to be returned, because it's not funny? Cheer up :smirk:

The bed wetting was hilarious on here = everyone literally praying that Manchester City (their closest neighbours) would win the league.....just a shame we messed it up!
Killed Gerrard too, following season you could see he wasnt there at all
