Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

We're 7 games into the season and we've done well I think.

Imagine being 27games in and still doing well. The fume on here ;)

I've not denied it's a good haul. The point remains thought that the fixtures could have been tougher for the reasons I've already outlined countless times. Of course there are always going to be opportune and inopportune moments to play teams, and you've been lucky to get your London away fixtures done and dusted at opportune moments. You can't just discount the luck involved because it's likely to happen to other teams at other points in the season.

Chelsea still haven't got going so I have no idea what you're on about there. They drew with a shit Swansea team the week before playing you, lost to you, and got turned over by Arsenal the other week ffs. Likewise, United haven't got going other, as evidenced by the Watford and Stoke results.

City edged it but they weren't very clinical and hadn't actually created a great deal to test De Gea. As it was, their first goal was from a long ball and some bad defending, and their second from their only proper good move in the first half, and even then it was from a rebound off the post.

As I said, the Burnley result aside, you've beaten what's been put in front of you for the most part. However, what's been put in front of you could have been in better shape in some cases.

Edit: Also, what has Chelsea beating Watford got to do with anything? Watford are shite and we should have beaten them, and losing to them was nothing other than hugely disappointing. If your marker for good results is "we beat the team that beat that team that beat Man United when Man United should have won" then you've got issues.

This is very much a case of you not being able to look past our hatred of them.

They played some of the best football I've seen at Old Trafford in a long, long time in that 1st half.

Genuinely the United fans in this thread have been depressingly pathetic the last few pages at least, I daren't look any further back.

Face it, they're in a good patch of form, similar to when they nearly won it in both 2009 and 2014, only this time they aren't reliant on a superstar or two (Gerrard with Torres and Suarez). Klopp is, as we know, a very handy manager and they all seem to have bought into his style of play and tactics.

They certainly could win the league this year. Leicester proved anything is possible and football is cyclical. It would be shit as a United fan to witness them win it (I technically have but I was two months old last time they did) but part of me would still laugh at the fact they won it once Gerrard left. It's going to happen at some point, we've just gotta hope that we're in the mix ourselves over the next few years because the fallout from SAF leaving could derail us for a lot longer than many of you think.

And then drawing 3-3 to Palace away and Mou humbling the Liverpool fans. I'd definitely take that over Liverpool doing badly from the start.

It's very possible Liverpool could win it soon, as long as we stick to 4-2-3-1 we won't be in the mix anytime soon, what they have is belief and an actual system that suits them. They will go far I reckon but I don't think they have the overall quality of Man City, Spurs, Arsenal - I would have included ourselves and Chelsea in that list but as the start of the season has proved the problems of the last while clearly are down to the players and not the management at those clubs.

I think utd are still well in it. Players are fighting for the shirt whereas that Chelsea team needs to be broken up imo.

As regards lfc, I don't know. We seem to have a Burnley result in us still so I think you're right in that spurs, city and arsenal are a little ahead of us.

Really happy with our progress though.

As would all Liverpool fans. I think you are repressing the months of hand wringing, pep talks to the mirror and general wailing and gnashing of teeth in the run up to the run in.

It was a great season to be a Liverpool fan. One of the most enjoyable I've had.

I'm sure you enjoyed it :) but I wouldn't change that season at all. Of course we would have loved to have won it but the football that season was just wonderful.

Watching us at anfield was something to behold. Truly felt I had a connection to my club and to the players again after years of feeling detached. Thing is, I've not lost that connection since despite the mess the following year. We are all together right now.

Would I take that pain and joy every season? Yup, I'd take it every day of the week. :)

Their defence including the goal keeper is terrible. They are a bit like city but with a worse difence and Midfield. If you sit and wait they will destroy you, If go after them their defence will crumble. Add that to their lack of depth and I would say, we dont need to worry about them even for top four.

Maybe Klopp will win them a title one day but its not this season and maybe not the next one either. But they and city will always start seasons like this from now on, before running themselves to the ground.

It's almost cruel how easily Liverpool fans get behind their side and say 'this is our year'. A good mate is a Liverpool fan and he said with a straight face the other day he reckons they will win the league this year.

They have as good a chance as they have had for a while, but it's impossible to say this early

Your lfc mates a plonker. However we do get behind our team and get excited about the possibilities.

You call it cruel,
I call it enjoying football.
I call it supporting my team.
I call it being a believer and having hope in my heart.

Que the "deluded" quotes :wenger:

Edit; didn't mean to sound patronising then, sorry if it came across that way.

To be honest, I think it's a good quality, not a bad one. I'm not that positive myself, but I wish I was - it makes life better!

Yeah, must be wonderful to support a big club that's never had to endure the pain & misery of going over a quarter of a century without a league title.

You really must tell us what it's like sometime.
Its a case of the shoes on the other foot now

Its called banter mate.

Do you remember when Liverpool fans put a statue of Moyes outside Anfield? Same thing.

Good post and well said. It isn't like any of us are saying we are going to win the league - because clearly none of us have.

Don't think I've heard a single Liverpool fan say "where gonna win it" well not for two years anyway.

What I have heard is " top four would be progress" or "think we will make top four" but that's it.

Think pool fans including me are a little paranoid about saying stuff like that nowadays.

I couldn't care less as a United fan.

United fans would too and arguably more than you lot - that's my whole point.

Even if you did, I don't really see what would be so embarrassing or bad about it. It's still early in the season, but are we only allowed to say that City and Spurs look like challengers? Realistically, there's probably 5 or 6 sides who, depending on circumstances, form of key players, having a good run, etc. could mount a title challenge, and Liverpool are one of them. I don't think you'll win it either, but at this stage in the season I would feel that fans are entitled to believe in their side's chances without having to constantly 'reality check' what they're saying.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, however a few posters seem to be suggesting the Liverpool fans on here are getting carried away, it's our year etc etc when in fact none of the LFC fans on here have said that.

Scouse arrogance from the usual suspects off the charts in here.
Can you produce quotes to clarify? I'm not sure any Liverpool fans in here have posted anything that qualifies as arrogance.

We haven't it's just another to add to the list of odd posters of late in this thread.

Holy smokes. An innocuous comment and the Liverpool brigade arrive and demand evidence!
Can you quote them? I genuinely haven't seen any arrogance in this thread from Liverpool fans.
Liverpool fans are arrogant by default, it's in their nature.
Strange how this needs pointing out on a Manchester United forum.

If believing your team can do well when they're flying and playing well is getting 'carried away', it's a bit stupid. No fun in football if you have to amend every positive emotion around it with "yeah well sure we have weaknesses and it's early on" and so on. You should dare to dream.

I haven't got a problem with the comment, I just genuinely am not sure what you're referring too.

I didn't fancy us to get top 4, but obviously I am more optimistic now. We are dreaming, just with a little bit of caution.

But you referred to this thread specifically which is why the comment was confusing. You're accusing posters of being arrogant but I haven't seen anyone post anything in this thread that I'd class as arrogant.

If you're talking about Liverpool fans in general then fair enough. I'm sure there are some arrogant Liverpool fans out there.

I like Klopp best when he makes his glasses fall off on purpose.

We go to RAWK to see them, (well... we don't atm, obvs, :(). Youse lot are fine from what I've ever seen, quite tolerant of our sillier moments than needs doing 't'other way about for me, Clive.

I think we will finish above them. Don't see them ending the 26 year wait without a world class player like Suarez.

Their squad is still very average. The advantage they have is that the their coach has had a while to build while ours has had 2 months
