Saying all the shit he does, we'd hate him as our manager.Just for the opposition. If he'd be the United manager, you would love him. No doubt.

I don't get the fascination.
Klopp hasn't won anything of note as a manager for over half a decade. What's the big deal with this guy, why are fans of other clubs so fascinated? I understand Liverpool fans being upbeat - they're always upbeat.
But Klopp is the least threatening manager we have to contend with in the EPL. We have to face Conte, Guardiola, Pochettino, Wenger...They are managers to worry about.
Klopp has had a chequered career as a manager....He did 'OK' with Mainz, and when I say 'OK', I mean 'OK'...He had a couple of mid-table finishes, finally got them promoted, and then got them relegated again...Decent up and down seven years with the club...nothing amazing, nothing terrible. Great job getting them up, poor job trying to keep them there and poor job trying to get them back up. All a bit Mick McCarthy if you ask me.
Then took the Borussia job and did fantastic in the grand scheme of things. But also - let's not forget - had some really mediocre campaigns with them. Finished 13th, 6th, 5th - then did a superb job of not only winning the League title but DEFENDING it - which is truly a tough achievement and Klopp deserves all the praise he got for those triumphs He also made Dortmund a force in Europe during those two years, too. They then finished second a couple of times before he dropped them back down to 7th.
Came to Liverpool, had an average first 7months where they finished 8th and then last season they finished 4th. I don't think he has achieved ANYTHING with Liverpool or has done anything to suggest he will be a threat to getting his hands on that EPL trophy.
Klopp has had more DOWNS than UPS as a manager....and is genuinely not a figure we should be thinking about at all. Like I said, his managerial career fades into insignificance when you compare him to our other rivals' managers' records.
I don't get it! He doesn't interest me in any way as a threat. I think, with City and United and Chelsea now settled with managers who aren't bedding into their clubs, Liverpool will sink back to their Millennium average position of 6th this season and there is nothing that suggests they can improve on that over the course of Klopp's reign as far as I can see. They might, of course, They might have another 3rd or 4th place finish over the next 4 years but that's as likely as it is for them to finish 8th again. They will average 6th over Klopp's reign...simply because he is not in the same category as Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte, Pochettino and Wenger. Klopp has been a professional manager for 16 seasons and had two brilliant seasons, three good seasons and 11 very mediocre seasons. Why the big deal? Because he has a personality? If I was a fan of a Spurs/Liverpool/Everton type club, give me the quiet Pochettinho a hundred times out of a hundred over massive personality Klopp.
I seriously don't get the fuss.
And By the way; if - and it's a massive IF, but if he ever did rival United for a title over the next few years, Mourinho will melt him. He overreacts to everything Mourinho says. Mourinho only has to throw a tiny pebble out there, and Klopp goes all guns blazing, Keegan-style. If it came down to the two having to lead their side over the line, there is only one winner. Mourinho would eat Klopp for breakfast and I'm pretty sure has already been laughing with his fellow coaches that Klopp reacted in such a way to a tiny pebble Mouirho threw out there on pre-season.
There certainly is doubt. It's not as if all United fans love Mourinho and Klopp is just as cringey as him, if not worse.Just for the opposition. If he'd be the United manager, you would love him. No doubt.
Love him? This place would be fuming if he was our manger and came out with pathetic excuses like that.
Just for the opposition. If he'd be the United manager, you would love him. No doubt.

I don't get why you all are getting so angry at that quote. Context is everything and it was most likely a part of a larger interview. And as for the "he can't stop talking about us", he was probably asked by the journalist. I very much doubt, that he just brought it up hinself. Because you are right, you can only beat what's in front of you, and you won the EL fair and square because you took a gamble and sort of sacrificed your league campaign. It payed off and you got both a trophy and CL.
To be fair, most of Us loved van gaals speech at the player of the year night a few years back. If klopp had done that we'd have a field day with him.
Just because a manager is a united manager doesn't mean our fans will love him always. Look at Moyes, lvg and even jose from time to time gets some harsh criticism from fans and even sir alex in the past jas been criticised by fans for his choice of words. So no klopp would have been hugely criticised had he made such remarks.Just for the opposition. If he'd be the United manager, you would love him. No doubt.
Now even this sounds sarcastic, dont know what to believe..As our greatest manager, Moyes, once said we aspire to be at City's level, I would happily concede Klopp ought to be regarded in the same vein as him.
(Just to be clear, I was being sarcastic in that post - It probably didn't come across that way)

I second this and very rarely post in the Klopp thread because I see it as pointless. His last 3 seasons have been 7th, 8th and 4th. Yeah Liverpool play some attacking stuff but so what?great post. exactly what i think about klopp too
So he's saying Liverpool aren't as good as Sevilla and United are better than Ajax. Well done for pointing out the obvious.
Just because a manager is a united manager doesn't mean our fans will love him always.
Yup.
You fundamentally misunderstand this place. People here are uber critical of most things united, and there is healthy debate about everything. Very few players or managers are untouchable. For example, we've had threads asking "is Rashford good enough" and implying it's "Martials last chance", when realistically most clubs would bite their hand off for both youngsters.Love him? This place would be fuming if he was our manger and came out with pathetic excuses like that.
No he's not. He is disingenuous and mouthy a lot of the time and this simply rubs people the wrong way. One of the reasons Mourinho was such a controversial choice, although Mourinho has relatively tempered the past season. No, but Klopp is the kind of manager you would love.
They send them to clown college. Are all Liverpool managers made to go through a crash course of how to behave as Liverpool manager. A month or two over there and they all turn into insufferable clowns.
so? The fact of the matter is Utd won the cup they couldn't. He should have been in the game long enough to know it's all about results, nothing elseHe's correct: Sevilla are a level above Ajax.
hahaha... no need to get peronal but yeah, that got me lolzThese rotten teeth give me nightmares.
And why so. Because he makes some silly jokes which are not even amusing. Are we running a circus ?No, but Klopp is the kind of manager you would love.
No, but Klopp is the kind of manager you would love.
He's a salty little bitch, but you have to admit when you compare their EL run last year to ours, there's no doubt we had a pretty straightforward route to the cup. What I don't get is why he's concerning himself with it, and why he's gone on record stating as much. It's all the more bizarre that he prefaced such a quote with "I don't care but..."
Just for the opposition. If he'd be the United manager, you would love him. No doubt.
