Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Err, how many games did you have in the spring? Like 7 games in 2 months. In the busy mid-season you were out of steam.
Not so at all. In the busy mid-season our squad was shot to pieces by injuries and Mane off to the AFCON. It's not so simple as to just look at the results and start pointing fingers without considering the factors affecting those results. And if we were so knackered by the last couple of months even a game a week would have been too much - whereas in fact the opposite was true (bar Milner, who had played practically every game and did look out on his feet).

And injuries often come when players are knackered don't they. You should lose the qualifier to save your season la.

''just the 4 repetitions of each exercise please lads, can those watching keep the noise down a little bit, ffs?''

The top 4, Fair Play and Asia Trophy treble all in the space of 2 months. Klopp is on fire!

Zzzzzz. How long does it take to put this fallacy to bed and prevent its resurrection ? It was used as a stick before he arrived, it was used as a stick last season (and completely failed, look at the way Liverpool finished the season, even with the weakest squad of the Top 6) and looks like, even though Liverpool will have a much stronger squad this season, as if its going to be used again this season.
Yeah they really weren't under much pressure, what with only bothering to play in one competition and all...

Has this been missed?

Sorry Klopp, United, like any team in a final, can only beat what was put in front of them.

"I don't care what Mourinho says."

*rants about what Mourinho said*

Oh Klopp, so charismatic....
It's almost like Klopp wanted the united job at some point.. he sure is behaving like a jilted partner in a new relationship trying to justify why they're better at every turn while trying to look like they don't care..

What a small time cnut. He's the perfect manager for Liverpool. I mean, I get when fans say shite like this, but coming from a guy who's been in the game for so many years. You can only beat what you get.

Why do our rivals care so much about us? It's as if they are more anti United than pro *insert said club here*. I actually liked the guy till he came to Liverpool, but after watching all his actions, he's such a cringe of a manager.

We'd have beat Sevilla because Jose isn't a complete bottle job in finals unlike that tool.

Exactly this. I suppose its our fault as well that we executed Joses gameplan perfectly while Liverpool forgot to come out for the second half and conceded from kick off.

Anyone associated with a club like Liverpool, that constantly brag about their European Cup wins, has some nerve to discuss the quality of opposition in finals.

And again exactly this.

And Im sure Ive said this before in this thread, but by Christ he is an absolute clown. Perfect for Liverpool.

He has lost 5 finals in a row. Does he have excuses for all the others too?

Leicester dispatched Sevilla last season.

... what did Mourinho even say?

He just said that Chelsea and Liverpool will find it more difficult this season juggling European and domestic football.

This. Were they asking for a tougher opponent in 2001? You'd think they'd keep their mouths shut after only just sneaking past Alaves 5-4.

He said that Chelsea and Liverpool will find it this season tougher than last season due to having European commitments.

I really don't understand why managers don't just reply "I agree, but that's where this club demands to be and we love the challenge of competing on all fronts". Why turn all teeny sissy?

And this provoked Klopp's response? Was something lost when word reached him? I know he's a cnut and all, but this seems a strangely bizarre response from what is an absolutely valid comment from Mourinho.

Good point, but I would also say I have heard United fans having their cake and eating it in this respect. "In terms of Cl/Eurpean Cups it's 5 vs 3 but four of yours were during an easier era and your opponents in the finals weren't as tough as Bayern, Chelsea and Barca x2". I think it's a shoulda, woulda, coulda discussion from both sides.

That being said I've bemoaned United's luck at coming up against perhaps the greatest club side ever twice in three years amongst fellow United fans. The difference is I wouldn't bother to bore Liverpool fans with this. The fact Klopp has chosen to discuss this in front of the world's media is pretty odd to say the least.
