Julen Lopetegui watch

Lopetegui the biggest loser here. Guided Spain to the WC finals, acted unethically, lost the Spain job before WC.

And now about to get sacked in October. No big club would touch him now.

Was it really unethical? Seemed more like Spain being ridiculously touchy to me.

Madrid showing us how it’s done. If it ain’t working - deal with it swiftly.

Fcuking hell.

And here we are 'thinking' about whether to sack shitcoat.

I know they've been very successful on the pitch in recent years but not too long ago we laughed at clubs like Madrid for constantly sacking their managers. Now people are complaining we're not doing the same?

What kind of severance package do sacked managers at Real Madrid get?

How much will Madrid pay him if they sack him?

You can't sell Ronaldo, fail to replace him and then blame the coach for a lack of cutting edge.

They got Mariano though #justSaying
Maybe everybody believes the Ascensio (sp) hype too much but telling the coach that he, Mariano and an Injury plagued Bale is enough borders on neglect.
Don't worry, Benzema will come good with Ronaldo gone...

They are harsh at times. Nobody doubts that.

Time for Klopp to pack up his shiny teeth and drive his Opel to Madrid

Definitely the ideal scenario. :D

Think most of us lived in an isolated bubble for years thanks to Fergie's stranglehold of the club. The majority have seen the light and realised that Fergie's United was unique and that managers of that kind don't exist in modern football. Then you've still got muppets like Neville stuck in the past, and spouting absolute nonsense in terms of managers out of their depth needing more time and backing.

Really not all Lopetegui's fault. The club has not replaced the players leaving,

They are two points off top after 8 games. Why is everyone a drama queen?

I think the expectations are that mighty Real Madrid, 13 times champions of Europe should not lose to Alavés and CSKA.

I don't think he gets fired so soon, but he has to find the teams mojo soon. Unfortunately for him he doesn't have enough pieces to change much. Madrid's vaunted second XI has been decimated by sales and loan deals.

Looking for Madrid to have a 2009 like summer at the end of this season.

They have dropped 10 points in those 8 games and lost vs CSKA too. 400 odd minutes without a single goal. Real Madrid are winners and don't accept mediocrity.

The reason they're 2 points off top is Barcelona and Atletico have been crap too. If Barcelona were having a normal season then Madrid would have lost the title already.

Lopetegui ain't innocent, but Bale and Benzema should be ashamed of themselves.

Asensio is Liga Adelante material.

He's obviously a lot better than that, but he's always been overrated with the people who called him a future Ballon D'Or winner.

He's made to play in big games where he has space on the counter, when teams play a low block he's invisible 95% of the time besides the odd wonder goal. He shouldn't be a starter for Real Madrid, not yet at least.

Three year contract @ €6 million a year. Circa 17m. It’s really not bad money if you can get it for a few months work!

So, Madrid fans, do you expect him to be dismissed over the break? Moreover, if he is sacked, who might his replacement be?

TBF Sir Alex got Valencia, Owen and Obertan in Ronaldo's place, so the drop-off was unnoticeable...

United sold Ronaldo and bought Obertan, Owen and Valencia.

9 years later Real Madrid sell Ronaldo and buy Mariano and Vinicius Jr.

At least when we sold him we got Liedson and Rochemback

Real Madrid is a club that sacked Heynckes for being 4th in the league, despite Heynckes had won the Uefa Champions league that season. In any other club in the world Heynckes would had remained his position as manager.

But not in Madrid.

Rochemback was good at his first season, but then it went dowhill.

So should Barcelona and Atletico at least be considering the position of their managers too? Being only 2 points ahead of Real must be precarious if we follow that line. I don't think they are though.

Edit:It's worse! It's 1 point.

Rochemback was good at his first season, but then it went dowhill.

Yes, he turned into a bit of a flop but it was seen as a great signing at the time. I loved him and his shots from nearly the halfway line though

We should bring him back just to tell Peseiro a few words of wisdom just like in 2004. “Vai tomar no cu” :wenger:

Valverde is also under heavy criticism. They’re doing well in the CL and won the league last season though so it’s a lot worse for Lopetegui.

If Barcelona had won all their games, Lopetegui would have probably been fired already and if Madrid has won all their games then Valverde would be close to it too. They’re both doing so badly that they’re saving eachother’s jobs.

Didn't watch many Madrid games this season. Does Lopetegui have some specific problems (pretty easy to point out what's wrong with Valverde) or is he just an overall disaster?

I love his monologues . He is right with what he says about shooting more after so many passes but I don't understand much
the current anti-tikitaka story.
Forgetting about the striker he is not getting to implement the nice style of his Spain, when he has players with a very valid profile.

It’s almost like they say “Ahh well we can’t replace him, just bring in whoever, it doesn’t matter”
