I think Lopetegui is done, and will be sacked sooner than later. I see a lot of madridistas asking Guti as solution, as he's so boor, so Mourinho, so iron fist, and they think the stage of talkative coaches is done in the neverending Real Madrid cycle of "falcons vs. doves" coaches. I personally don't think it would be a good solution, because Real Madrid players are such a bunch of narcissist self-assured brats right now thanks to how much they have won this decade -even in the World Cups as national team players- the key players can't have a "Guti" either, Zidane worked because he was fricking Zidane, he won everything and he's remembered as a big name in football history, his ascendancy is simply brutal, but these current players have won more than Guti in his entire career, plus Guti was always a #12 player, a player who could have been more than he was if he stayed focused on football and not on parties, he's not a star recalled for playing 10 years in a row as first choice player. If I were any of them, I would be saying, "Who the F is Guti, what the F he won compared to me?".
Solutions? There isn't any decent international coach available. Former Real Madrid players? There aren't so many names. Who are they going to hire, Michel? Don't make me laugh. But then I realized something: Raul. He's at the club right now with a ghost job as ambassador or whatever, he's a Real Madrid legend, and I'm sure he would kill to take the job.
I can't think of anyone else with that "glamour" Florentino loves, saving his face with a popular name.
