Apparently getting shirt number 10 (currently Benayoun's) and a five-year deal has been agreed between the player and Chelsea. Valencia want 30m Euros for Mata, Chelsea still 2m Euros short if reports are to be believed.
£35 million + Benayoun for ModricWhy would they give away his shirt number unless he's off?
I'm happy for the Prem. We're getting some of that glamour back with players like Suarez, Aguero and Mata playing here.
He can do either, until last season he'd never played in the middle behind a striker and his best season was when he led the team with Villa and had the most assists in the league aside from the robot Xavi with 20, from the left wing. He has a good cross. Its just Valencia needed a solution to replacing Silva behind the striker.
If Mata stays at Valencia, now with Canales and Piatti signed, he might well be asked to play his wide role again and put in the crosses for Soldado

Get the feck in!
Excellent news, our rivals has strengthened.
Woohoo!!
Too cocky? Overconfident? Its ain't going to be that easy to win the trophy this season.
Yeah, the lack of glamour these last few years has been almost too hard to bear.

Very good signing if true, but it Juant Mata if Cleverley does the business for us.
Urgh..
Yeah, the lack of glamour these last few years has been a real downer. Was starting to lose interest tbh. I'm just so pleased Chelsea signed Mata, City signed Aguero and Liverpool signed Suarez. Fantastic news. Yay!!

I know what he means though, in the last 5 years the Premiership has lost:
Henry, Ronaldo, Fabregas, Ballack, Shevchenko, Crespo, Alonso, Eboue, Macherano and Van Nistelrooy.
While they may not all be big names now and they may not all have lit the Premier League up, they were household names that had a following around the world and attracted viewers.
Maybe it's a case of not realising what you have until it's gone.
You could argue we have genuine stars still in:
Rooney, Nani, Ferdinand and Vidic, Van Persie, Drogba, Torres, Lampard, Terry, Silva, Tevez and Modric.
Maybe that isn't what he was arguing though. If we are talking glamour as in pretty boy Beckham types that's just ridiculous and irrelevant.

See. Never a chance with Arsenal, but I knew something was up with the chelsea rumour. I'm good with this Valencia stuff, I gotcha covered

Apart from failing to grasp what a fantastic signing Silva would be, you mean?
Said he wasnt worth the £30 million most caf users posting in his thread were suggesting. Said he wouldnt produce as much as Berbatov in his first season. But did say he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.
He had a poor first half of the season and a much better second half. I wasnt wrong
Of course you weren't. You never are. At least you'll never admit it anyway. The rest of us can draw our own conclusions.
Far cry from ekeke hates Silva or cant admit he's done well at City or what-have-you
TBH I've always gotten the impression that you hated Silva as a player
