Juan Mata

Still cant believe Arsenal didnt go all out & get Mata, it looked like they were the only one's in for him, was quite surprised there wasnt a massive hunt for this lad. I reckon if Arsenal had of paid what Valencia wanted - roundabout £22m, he would have been their player long before now. I wouldnt be happy if i was an arsenal fan at this point in time. That board are just selling players & keeping the profits for themselves, they wont invest because its a business to them & the Emirates is always full anyway - turnstile monies aplenty..

feck winning anything when the money still flies in - seems to be their mantra..

Valencia wanted 30 million euros. Looks like Chelsea went up to about 28 million euros, but there may be bonuses on top of that we'll find out soon enough. Valencia most certainly didnt want him to leave, but according to one spanish paper he had a £23 million or so buyout inserted into his contract. I personally dont buy it as according to them it ran out like a week ago...

Arsenal and Spurs wouldnt pay it and where were Chelsea? A week later they pay an extra 4 million euros or something. Why would they choose to wait and then pay extra?

Just seemed like a conventient way to wrap up the Arsenal story to say that a clause expired and now he'll cost a lot more, when Arsenal didnt sign him

See. Never a chance with Arsenal, but I knew something was up with the chelsea rumour. I'm good with this Valencia stuff, I gotcha covered

You have some nerve.

You have undermined Silva many posts even when others around you, including myself were calling you out for it, when he was putting in top performances.

You deserve no credit.

Great signing for Chelsea this. They've been crying out for some quality in wide areas for years now.

Silva doesnt play for Valencia.

As I understand it, his buyout clause was €60m, but there was an agreement with Llorente that he could leave for €23m or thereabouts should a bid be received by the end of July. Spurs matched that, but Mata told them to get to feck. He was keener on Arsenal but a deal couldn't be reached for whatever reason.
