Great cameo. I know Faes is slow but Zirkzee at the beginning of the season is not running past him like he did tonight. He’s improving every game now.

He looks a lot more faster. Last time I posted here I said we should still sell him because his top level is not good enough and definitely made me eat those words. Just hope he keeps this up
I still suspect you were right the first time.

He's not suddenly going to turn into a goalscorer or scare the opposition with his pace. I think we have to start judging players in the context of where we want to be in 2-3 years time - competing for league titles. To be an attacking player who's very slow, and doesn't score goals, and play a significant role in a team winning a PL title, that's a tough ask.

Selling a player doesn't make them a bad footballer. But I don't think he's the right fit.

He has the odd nice touch but he’s scored 3 league goals. Thats just not good enough. He also never looks like he’ll score either.

He’s not playing as a striker you know that right ?
Has played most of his games there but I suppose you’re right. That’s why Bruno never scores any goals.

I’m just glad he makes up for the lack of goals with that 1 assist in the league.

He’s looked far more aggressive in recent games. And he’ll need that to compete in epl.

He looked visibly shocked by the amount of ‘treatment’ that goes unpunished over here in his first 6 months.

Hoping he can piece together aggression, with his obvious ability on the ball and if he can add more goals he’ll be a good player for us

I think he deserves another season to judge him on. He could still end up being a top player as he’s got some real talent. Very good cameo last night I thought.

He's played some games as a striker but is 3 goals enough for a number 10?
You can say the same for more or less everyone in the team (not only regarding goals but in general). Everyone knows the first half and a bit of the season was crap. Zirkzee has improved a lot the last weeks.

If the team keeps playing like this and he's still on 3 goals and 1 assist at the end of the season then it would be fair to say that he's not good enough.

Really like his resurgence, we need it. Would still sell him though, simply because he's one of the few in the squad that can get us some value in the market. I'm sure Italian clubs would still want him.
Use that money to improve what's needed.

The quote was "If he had pace he'd be unbelievable.", which is true, but if he had more pace, he wouldn't be at United, he/d be playing for a top team, winning things. Truth is we don't attract the very best players these days.

No way, I'd keep him. We are yet to see his ceiling and he can be a very useful player.

His performances have been fundamental to the teams recent resurgence as many attacks are running through him on balance of play. His goal threat is something to improve upon but not something to solely judge him off especially as Amorim has practically came out and said he's not a number 9.

As long as he's influencing games, he's doing his job. That's what a poorly performing team needs to be sustainable in the long run.

Wouldn't be a true Woziak post without at least 2 different made up numbers in there.
When are you going to learn about the new rules, I really don’t want to report you because that’s childish but targeting a young player is different from making up numbers.

I was suggesting he’s created enough chances to have more assists and he has the physical tools to score more goals, apparently the kid is working hard to improve his game and that suggests his numbers will improve as well!

You really can’t help yourself can you, I sometimes struggle to think that some users do not contemplate what they write or they just continue to offer derogatory and negative comments that help no one and certainly only project themselves as being extremely insensitive and borderline insecure.

Could he be the third option as a number 10 from the bench or a back up number 9 as a false 9.

He has 6 Goals and 2 Assists from 44 matches or 2060 minutes, in reality he’s played 23 Games and 8 GI in 23 full matches looks a lot better than 8 in 44?

He started a lot of those games from the bench at the beginning of his United career when he looked overweight and unfit, he looks a different player and athlete right now and he’s been through huge adversity.

I suggested that he should be targeted next season to get you 12-13 Goals and Assists in the PL and 17-18 goal involvements overall in the season if he was our starting number 10, if he’s not starting then 10-12 Goal involvements in all competitions from the bench is more than adequate for your back up 10 and third choice 9 option.

I do sort of agree with your last comment, however I think he’s earned the right to stay one more year when he will mature from 24 to 25 years old and we see how he maintains his physical appearance and fitness and how his stats look when better players are brought in to help him.

But we've been crap because of the players. We can't say all the forwards have been poor so let's not analyse any of them.

The vagueness of "influencing games" isn't enough.

Football is about goals. Our recent uptick is down to Bruno racking up goals and assists.

Zirkzee as a forward at United has to score and assist lots more. No way around that.

His dribbling and close control is very good. Good strength also

I really don’t understand why some people want to get rid of our skillful players like Zirkzee and Garnacho.
Who are we going to replace them with, some more defenders.
We need more attacking and exciting players not to be selling our best players as we know they won’t be replaced.
I really like Zirkzee and he has some crazy skills and he’s hasn’t even peaked yet.
Just give him time and he will become an old Trafford favourite.

I haven't targeted a young player, but the way you post.
I was suggesting he’s created enough chances to have more assists and he has the physical tools to score more goals, apparently the kid is working hard to improve his game and that suggests his numbers will improve as well!
Sure makes sense. Would never disagree with that statement. But adding some numbers to feels odd to me especially such specific ones.

No, not really. But over time, you'll learn about posting styles, you learned about mine, I learned about yours. Your posts are often rather lengthy (something I personally like given that it indicates that the content isnt just 0815 good player bad player stuff) and contain a lot of numbers. Those numbers make it appear as if your opinions are based on facts and figures but when you look closely, often numbers are downright fictional. That doesn't mean they are not plausible or anything, but fictional nonetheless.

Should have put an emoji next to the post, it wasn't meant as a dig because I am sure, it isn't coming from ill intentions.

Hope he can stay fit, and have a good pre-season. Needs to be leaner and more fit, will help him a lot for next season. Should still get another striker.

He’s just so much fitter and in better shape than when he first arrived. He can actually move now and accelerate, which he couldn’t and wouldn’t do earlier on the season. He used to look gassed after 20mins.
Happy for him that he is showing his potential. I think there is even more in him. Hopefully he focuses on his S&C this summer and doesn’t go away on holidays and come back in terrible shape again.

He seems to be improving, but the one thing that bugs me about him, Garnacho and Hojlund is that they only seem to be able to turn it on against very mediocre teams like Leicester and Sociedad.

His performances post getting booed off the pitch have been gradually improving.

Which is all we can ask, a few goals would do him a world of good as well, but we can't get too greedy.

My opinions are never based on facts just best guess ideas and scenarios normally collated from the numerical numbers which are available with the clubs yearly accounts.

I work with a lot of accountants and they are constantly submitting forecasts and re forecasts.

This is how I see a lot of how our club is currently run! Number crunchers looking to save every penny to reset the club on a more secure financial standing.

SJR proved in his Gary Neville that he was quite detached from a simple error of judgement like cancelling a charity for retire. players from the 60’s and 70’s.

It’s been quite clear that INEOS have briefed the media that new contracts will have reasonable base levels but they will target individual players for Wins, Goals, assists, clean sheets, European qualification. and trophies.

I was at the Newcastle game when Zirkzee got subbed and No I did not boo him, you never boo a United player but quite a few round me did. I think the lad can easily get 12-15 Assists and goals next season and if he’s our third option from the bench as a 10 or deep lying 9, I’m ok with that because one thing he has his heart and character, something which has been missing in a lot of players within the last 12 years.

As I stated he has 6 goals and 2 assists from what looks like 44 matches this year however in reality he has only played 2060 minutes which amounts to about 23 games.

Booing specific players is something, I really dislike. Was that the game where he had to go off at HT? I agree with your stance, as long as they are United players, they should be supported. I can see not cheering them but booing is a nogo (for me).

I actually don't have anything against the player. I was against him because I thought adding another young striker who is going to need minutes to fulfill is potential isn't a good idea when we were screaming out for somebody who would be able to take some pressure off of Hojlund. I can see why he was rated in Italy but I can also see what people meant when they talked about him. For me, he seems to lean towards a group of players, I'd personally try to stay away from - like Pogba, he is non-standard player with a non-traditional skillset. That in itself is nice to have and can be a great option, plan B or an entry card into a phenomenal plan A. The thing with United though, is that we don't even seem to get the basics right. And having a nominal striker, who is good physically yet not otherworldly, who is busy and diligent but not the most mobile, having good dribbling but no obvious striker instincts - it doesn't make for an easy integration into a system in my eyes. Obviously, that is absolutely not JZs fault, but the clubs for bringing him in without knowing for sure, how to make the best use of him. I'd try to offload him in the summer, maybe a swap or something for somebody who stilistically would be a better fit for us. And thats in no way a dig at JZ. As you say, I see potential and he has something that might be very useful, but I fear we are too far away from a state where we can make best use of him. (He isn't even a good sub for Hojlund given their differences, a sub would always have to come with a change of plan... bit of a bummer, I was aware of him for a while (knowing him from Bayern fans) but I was hoping for a little more killer instinct and aggressiveness. He comes across like Berbatov sometimes, with a different texture)

He's looking faster and stronger. I hope with some time to adapt to the league, he continues to imporve. Seems like a decent lad, and there is some silkyness to him.

He has the odd nice touch but he’s scored 3 league goals. Thats just not good enough. He also never looks like he’ll score either.
Is there anything you dont moan all day? No one is saying he is prime Kaka, but most of us acknowledge that he has improved in the past few games and also looks sharper and fitter

Sheringham was never that prolific but he's a legend at I think 4 clubs. Bergkamp also wasn't that fast or prolific. Clearly Zirkzee needs to improve his goalscoring if he's to be here for the long haul but I don't think he necessarily has to bang 20 every season to be useful.

Funnily enough Hojlund is the very essence of this description. Scored less goals than Zirkzee in Serie A before his move to United and scored the majority of his goals last season from January to February.

Zirkzee at the least has qualities that entails him being useful in the 10, he absolutely has the attributes to be a player who can be used throughout the season with another forward player in front of him. I can see his performances improving even further as the team becomes more cohesive.

He's been the best attacking player since Amad's injury for me. The attack is nothing to write home about but he's turned a corner after some shocking performances when he joined. Has shown resilience when the market was open and is reportedly working hard in training / improving fitness. Zirkzee is the epitomy of the type of player in application United need moving forward.
