My prediction for Zirkzee is he'll leave in 2 or 3 years but leave as a cult hero. Similar to someone like Diego Forlan.
Yeah. Was always clearly best suited in a deeper role.He was also never a 9 which is what people misguidedly thought he was. There’s so much more to his game than just that.
Odd. He's clearly rather talented.I've probably never rated a player less than Zirkzee
We owe a lot of players apologies thenWe owe this guy an apology. Got slated few weeks ago. Now he’s playing very good. He’s a smart player.
Yeah this. I feel the same way. He looks to be growing into the role.Have to say, I've probably never rated a player less than Zirkzee but he really surprised me last night. Some lovely touches abd even some nice passes. Seemed a bit quicker too. Hopefully he's getting in shape and he will prove me wrong
zirkzees first season here. Players like Dalot have been here forever and we know that they need moving on.We owe a lot of players apologies then
Yeah, I just think that fans in general are waaaay too quick to write a player off. Countless players have been deemed “never good enough” just to be praised the next game by the same fans.zirkzees first season here. Players like Dalot have been here forever and we know that they need moving on.
I agree. It is quite hard though to be fair to know if a player will come good with better players and a more confident team. We definitely need upgrades in certain positions.Yeah, I just think that fans in general are waaaay too quick to write a player off. The speed of Dorgu's write off was legendaryYeah, I just think that fans in general are waaaay too quick to write a player off. Countless players have been deemed “never good enough” just to be praised the next game by the same fans.

The club knew they wasn’t signing a prolific goalscorer. We all know he isn’t that. I think the plan under ETH was to use zirkzee as a false 9 and allow him to bring the wingers into play. Bit similar to Liverpool when they had Firminho with Salah and mane playing off him. Obviously the systems changed now and Amorim as found him a new role as a 10 and he’s shown he’s capable of being a playmaker. He was signed as a CF and he still isn't much of one. What he's morphing into now is of benefit to the team which is positive, but I don't think anybody owes him any apology for expecting a CF and getting the player he is. I'd still like him to be more effective in front of goal.

That's fair enough, but it still doesn't explain why the club signed somebody with such little goal threat when Hojilund was and still is so incredibly raw. Zirkzee showing potential is great, but I don't agree with bailing the club out by claiming they had some kind of foresight. We needed a striker last summer, nobody can possibly argue with that given the season we've just endured.
He is like Zlatan without confidence and finishing.Odd. He's clearly rather talented.
i mean the odds ...He becomes another Nani or a club legend.
So he’s going to become one of the best around. Awesome. He becomes another Nani
So not like Zlatan. He is like Zlatan without confidence and finishing.
It's interesting to me how much the club are already using Zirkzee and De Ligt in club promo. Not just on MUTV, but external outlets where the club's historically been a lot more guarded with who they put up. Speaks to the trust in their character. We've had recent homegrown players who didn't do as much club promo in the last 6 years as Zirkzee's done in 6 months.
Andy Mitten's said a couple of times recently that Zirkzee's already a real 'connector' in the dressing room - that he gets on with the young guys, the older guys, the foreign contingent and the English players. Just seems like a really good guy to have in the squad.
Example of some of the media stuff he's done recently:
He becomes another Nani or a club legend.

Giving me B rate Zidane Vibes, which is not a criticism.

I think he is playing with quite a bit of confidence now. We are seeing more and more moments of great technical play and flair. Finishing is still a work in progress. He is like Zlatan without confidence and finishing.
Wasn't he a 9 at Bologna? Hasn't he always been one?I quite like him. I just find it hard to get over the idiots in charge buying him to play as a striker.
Maybe if / when we finally get a striker i can just appreciate him for what he is
Osimhen was available and would have kept us in the top 4.There were and are f*ck all strikers around. Modern game is goals from every player, perhaps unfortunately.
