Not sure why but I kind of like him. I think there is a player in there and he's clearly trying too. Was as if his shackles came off when we were 2-0 down and he became more natural

He’s the type of player that you add into a well functioning team full of confidence and he’ll be a real asset with his silky, quick feet and link up play. However, you add him into a team at rock bottom completely devoid of confidence and ability and he stands out like a sore thumb and not in a good way. Still think he’s one of our better performing forward players but that’s really not saying much.

He needs time and space, which he rarely gets in the PL. Occasionally he’ll look like a player when players stand off him, but a lot of the time he just doesn’t do things sharply enough. Maybe that’s something he can learn with time?

I really still do believe he’s be quite the player in a functioning team. Some absolutely dreadful passing before the last 15 minutes though.

Zirkzee is a luxury player but a luxury we don't have right now, needs to be sold to facilitate the right player coming in

Not good but I'd pursue with him until the end of the season. He's at least trying to do the right things. If it clicks for him, he could be a hard working, hold up playmaking forward. A non-threatening forward but for my low bar, it's a starting point.

Weird fecking player. Can’t make a 5 yard pass at all (67% accuracy today) but can manoeuvre himself out of the tightest situations and can glide past players.

Very weird. Never seen a player so technically class and technically deficient.
I'd argue that being technical means you don't mess that up 50% of the time. So hes simply poor technically, but on occasion can use better technique to find a pass. Just.. once every 3 or 4 attempts

He lacks any awareness at this level though. He creates space for himself with a dribble or a feint, and then he is easily dispossessed straight after. And his passing is wank.

Bebe had really good pace and could go past a man. Other than that. Yes.

For sure. I'm talking about having no idea what to do to find a teammate and lacking the technical quality to control and find a pass most of the time. He reminded me of Bebe's lack of technical ability to match any athleticism he might have had

You should see his performances then
I did, he was rubbish.

Worse than what he does wrong, it's the apparent lack of effort in transition that does me in. I'm sure he does his best, but he seems to jog to and fro at about 60% effort.

He was awful like everyone else but at least he showed some fight towards the end of the match.

He can do some nice control and that but if you need him to make a good decision good pass or good shot you can guarantee he will feck it up.

Flatters to deceive but in the end he is ultimately useless

When Garnacho passed it to him and he was on the right side of the box, I expected a shot but then again I remember that Anfield he defered to Maguire.
His pass attempt was just terrible this time. A player like him, who is terrible at heading, don't have the balls to shoot whenever there is an opening and who so frequently messes up simple passes has no business playing for Man Utd

So a poor man’s Bebe - Bebe without pace. Now we’re talking. That’s like a goalie without arms.

He's good with the ball and link
Up play. The potential is there to be seen. Lacks pace though and also end product. Maybe it will come. 50/50 if he suits PL. Let's see

Which by the way sums up how I felt Pickford played

I'll give credit to Bruno and Ugarte for finally getting some shots on target. But I'd also be livid if my goalkeeper cant deal with fairly central and mid height shots like that

I do think half the time he plays a lot of blind passes because he's trying to be progressive in really disadvantageous situations like after controlling/winning a 1st/2nd/3rd bumbling ball or when he's got 2-3 players around him. I personally like that because he's wants to progress the ball to team mates that he knows are in general areas of the pitch. I think if we can actually try to midfield and he gets a bit more time on the ball, he can be useful. He has 'good' instincts, technique and control in the build up phase at least. Whether he can be a bit more cleaner with his approach and execution is a tall ask in this chaotic team but the underlying ability is there. Again I have a low bar.

Agreed. Don't want to be too harsh, but just looks like a average player with a weak mentality.

Always looks like he isn't in control of the ball. Some of his passing is atrocious but I think that's more lack of confidence. Would be interesting to see how is fairs in a team that plays with confidence and attacking intent. Defo a player there but not sure if he's what we need right now.

He was involved in around 25 goals for Bologna last season, goals+assists, how is that possible?

You can see why today, had lots of chances to create or shoot, but with little understanding with other players it ends up failing. He could've been involved in 3 easy goals in that last 20 mins. We make simple football very difficult.
