The last I heard Warnock only had a couple of million to spend and they've only signed a couple of players so far - being Dyer and some reserve goalkeeper. Seemed clear that the owners, as rich as they are, are desperate to offload the club.
The new owners might be able to give him some funds if the deal goes through in time but the papers reckon £10 million max. I cant see them giving Barton a three or four year deal at £60k a week (it'd cripple them if they went down) or him wanting to sign for a club who look like being whipping boys next season.
Surely he's going to have a lot more options open to him after last years performances?
