You sir, have a gift.

Thanks, I forgot about Klopp. As for Allardyce he did it with which team and was he highly rated?

I was making fun of Sam's claims that he was as good as any top manager and should be given a job at United or Real Madrid.

Well an emergency meeting has been called as per the papers(mail and the sun). I think its not if but when he will be sacked. I hope soon, then we should also let Van gaal go. I wont mind mou as our manager.

Then maybe Van Gaal can go manage Chelsea and we can all play together at Stamford Trafford.

Contracts dont work like that, it will cost him lot less as it will be a "mutual decision". 40 million might be the value of the contract, there are clauses iin it. I am sure if not we would have paid moyes about 50 million which we did not, we paid him a sum of about 7 million, i'd assume that is close to what Jose will get.

But if Chelsea have let Jose sign the contract without a "You get nothing if you take the team to relegation" clause, then all I can say is :lol::lol:

They paid out almost 15 mil to AVB.

Now imagine Mourinho, their greatest ever manager, having just won the league, loved by every woman and child at the Bridge. He's bargaining position is likely to be so much stronger. Moyes didnt really have a strong bargaining position. In essence that's what drives clauses contracts. Bargaining power.

There's zero way a Mendes client having just won the league would sign a contract of 4 years with such an unfavourable clause just 4 months into it.

Even without clauses, the manager usually agrees to be bought out of the contract for a lot less, at least if he wants to work anywhere else sometime soon. He can't sign a new contract before this one is terminated after all.

In theory, if for example PSG want to sign Mourinho for next season, Chelsea could demand a transfer fee to let him join them. I doubt that'll happen if Chelsea wants him to leave now, but there'll be a mutual agreement unless Mourinho takes a 4 year vacation from football.

He signed a new deal after winning the league?

Jose Mourinho's future as Chelsea manager is under question after the club's hierarchy held discussions about his position in the past 24 hours.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich led talks on how the reigning Premier League champions can end a slump that has seen them lose nine of their first 16 games.

The Blues are one point off the relegation places after defeat at Leicester City on Monday night.

Mourinho's position was on the agenda as part of a wider debate about how Chelsea can turn things around, although there is no emergency board meeting being held on Wednesday.

It is not yet clear which way the club will go or whether he will be in charge against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Looks like, his future will be decided either way. I think he will be gone before saturday. From champions to being sacked, what a journey!

Who would come in? Ancelloti?

My dream of John Terry as player-manager for the remainder of the season?

My mate's a Chelsea fan (Jesus, how RAWK is that) - he'd be absolutely devastated if they sack Mourinho. I hope they do sack him so I can bathe in his tears.

Hope they keep him. Partly for the fun of looking at their mess and partly because football cannot continue with this nonsense of players deciding when the manager goes.

Was Mourinho the first man to manage Chelsea since your mate started following them?

On one hand it would be hilarious if he got sacked, who do they turn to to get them out of this mess?

On the other hand I don't want him to get sacked, he's doing so astonishingly bad I want it to keep going.

Fair points, but it still comes back to the bargaining power issue.

I dont Jose will get the full 40m, but he wont be getting the measly sums Moyes got.

Because its Chelsea are the ones that are unilaterally breaking the contract, they are the ones in breach. Jose has no incentive to agree to a low settlement, and neither does Mendez. Thus Chelsea have to offer him a reasonable sum. He cant sit on his arse for 4 years either , so there's that.

From those two different positions, they'll need to reach an agreement. That Jose has a strong bargaining position means that the amount will be higher than what AvB got for example. I can see him getting a 20 plus mil settlement.

I definitely don't want him to get sacked. He's lost the dressing room and chances are their form will change dramatically once he's gone. Last thing I want is a new manager effect in place when United play them later this month.

Id be amazed if he isn't sacked, all the shit with the club doctor, a terrible league position and an obvious falling out with the players its impossible to turn this around.

If Chelsea fire him unilaterally, why should he settle for anything less than full amount?? I didnt get the bolded part. If he is fired, he can take any new job and also the 40M right?

Of course not. That would be proper mental. If he wants the full pay, he has to sit out his contract while being suspended from work. He can't take a new job unless the contract is terminated.

Clubs don't fire managers in the sense of tearing up the contract and dealing with the consequences later. They suspend managers and negotiate the contract termination unless there are clauses in the contract, that deal with everything.

Ok.. Get it.

Possibly, heh. I avoid talking to him about football for the most part because he can't have a normal conversation about United. His immediate family members support West Ham, Liverpool, City and Leeds so it's hardly surprising I suppose

If he gets the sack, Man Utd should get him right away. Would probably win the league with him this season.

I'd avoid him at the moment, despite my enthusiasm in the past. Going through a very poor patch at the moment.
